friendly welcome, room was clean and looked cosy on arrival, plenty of storage space (chest of drawers), ensuite was small but functional and clean, good, plentiful, tasty breakfast, nice lounge area with comfy sofas and information leaflets on Oxford to browse, friendly staff
The bed was a little hard but this is down to personal preferences.
Walking distance to city centre. small shop close by. Room was warm and comfortable, Staff were there when you needed them, but other wise left us alone. A good breakfast with plenty of choice. I would recommend the hotel to others. The free parking was very handy also.
only had two days to spare.
Excellent staff, breakfast was great. Rooms clean and comfortable. Near bus stop.
Bit pricey, WiFi quality was poor.
First impressions- Friendly manageress- Good Breakfast -Comfortable room.
No hot water on the first night and morning due to a pilot light being blown out in the extension boiler
Location. Value for money. Breakfast. Free onsite secure parking.
Nothing, no complaints.
The hotel was just a short walk into the town centre. Breakfast was good, make sure you go down before 8.15 though as it gets busy. An adequate hotel though for a trip to Oxford. Everything was clean and functional. We had 2 rooms close to the entrance but the rooms had inner doors to ensure noise was reduced and we slept well.
Unfortunately we had come straight from 2 nights in possibly the best b&b ever in Bath for around the same price, so our first impressions were pretty depressing. The Falcon is a little impersonal, the furnishings are basic and a bit dated and the decor is a bit dark. Good for a base but wouldn't want to spend too long in the rooms. The place grew on us over the 2 nights we were there but was a bit like staying in student digs. Not bad but a bit disappointing.
The room was lovely. Breakfast was satisfactory
The cost was very high. £130 for a family room. I feel that was very expensive.
It was a short walk into town. The breakfast was very good and plenty of it. Bed was comfortable.
Room was quite small as was shower and nowhere to sit except for the bed although to be fair, we weren't there much. I found it a little impersonal.
Very warm and friendly welcome on arrival, with help given to us to find somewhere to eat that evening and places to visit the next day. The room was very clean neat and tidy and the bed was very, very comfortable resulting in a really good nights sleep. Off street parking that was locked at 10.30 giving peace of mind that your car was safe. Despite checking out the next day we were allowed to leave our car in the car park till early afternoon whilst we walked into Oxford (10 mins) and explored the city. Would definitely recommend and stay there again on our next visit to Oxford.
The only observation that I would make is that like every other hotel that we have stayed in except one, there wasn't a plug near enough to the mirror to allow my wife to use her hairdryer in front of the mirror.
friendliness, cleanliness , good breakfast and near to bus stop to city centre
Perhjaps ther could be a chair in the bedroom - otherwise fine .
Walking distance to city centre
Proximity to town centre & comfortable bed.
Shower wasn't very powerful - took a long time to rinse out shampoo.
Parking, almost everything
No fresh fruit
Location and good breakfast
We came down to breakfast on Friday morning at 915 and were told it finished at 9. We had spent the previous weekend there and were not told on checking in that breakfast on weekdays ended at 9. We were treated rather like naughty schoolboys and although they provided toast and coffee were unwilling to be flexible and made it plain that they thought that it was our fault. Not a good way to treat a customer
Well kept, recently refurbished, clean, cosy room, spotless linen, spotless bathroom plus all small appliances available. Tea, hot chocolate, coffee etc plus biscuits available every day. Very near to shopping centre, banks, bus stops. Max wait for a taxi 10 minutes. We left the luggage there after check out, and picked it in the afternoon. Very friendly neighbourhood; good place to bike, row on the Thames, jog or simply walk in the fresh air.
Staff very helpful & friendly plus breakfast was good as well as excellent shower.yummy Cadburys hot chocolate available in room.
Draft in window over one bed flush with window & heater. Towel heater didn't seem to work.no cream available for coffee--1 if us cannot use milk.
Location, walking distance to Oxford City centre.
Breakfast choices were poor, ran out of basics like butter. Sticklers for 09.00 finish for breakfast.
10min walk to centre Good local amenities Clean & Tidy Great breakfast
The breakfast room is very nicely decorated, well attended, the breakfast was served quickly and it was delicious.
Falcon B & B was located 2 blocks from the Thames River where the Head of the River is held. Walking distance to all of city. Vibrant city. Plenty of historic buildings, shopping, pubs, young vibrant people. Great
Room was small but cosy, and the food at breakfast was amazingly good. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful without being intrusive. There were plenty of free leaflets and maps showing events and places of interest in Oxford. Being slightly out of the town hubbub meant it was quiet at night - even with the window open.
There were a lot of stairs, so wouldn't recommend this to anyone who struggles with this. The 'English breakfast' tea served with breakfast was like dishwater!!
The room was clean
Very poor service. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Would not serve coffee with our breakfast after 9.30 on Sunday morning.
The room and its bathroom were quite small and the toiletries were added only in the second day. Also, we were assigned a top floor room, with a low ceiling and therefore it was difficult to access the bed comfortably from one side. The breakfast staff was not friendly and did not wish to communicate with her and did not bother asking us if we were all right. The staff was not well trained. We had to chase to be served. Also the timing of the breakfast was quite early with the last orders taken at 9.30 am.
Good location. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.
location is great for central Oxford, staff are cheerful and very helpful
