Beautiful location.Had a wonderful dinner there and breakfast the next morning was great! Staff very friendly and attentive.
Perfect location Great heritage building EXCELLENT restaurant! Lovely people
Stayed in Byre which was very crampt, cupboard for a bathroom with sink almost as big as the shower! Surface clean only, dripping tap owner not really interested furniture uncomfortable, dated and poor. Colder in the Byre than outside. Owner liked to ask questions but not listen to you, repeated every thing back at you on a booming voice endevouring to be a cockney, burnt the pastries but served them any way, didnt bother to serve any the following day. Food was ok (just ok) but extremely over priced, so much potential here wasted by unproffesionals !
The staff,the atmosphere.A great warm,old fashioned Hotel.
Loved the place so much - going back
The location, excellent food and cosy bar with open fire. The variety of dishes available was excellent.
The bed was small and the mattress too soft. The quilt was too thick and heavy for the unseasonal warm temperatures. Maybe a summer weight one should be provided as well. Also there was no shower over the bath.
We loved the view from our window, the friendliness, excellent walksfrom the door, breakfast, service and food
We stayed at the Inn for two nights during our trip to The Ryder Cup. Rooms were clean, warm and very well decorated. The Inn is very old so don't expect some characterless modern box. The floors are a bit wonky and the walls aren't straight but we thought it was lovely. The view from our bedroom window was amazing, right over the waterfalls. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food is excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and we couldn't fault our stay one bit.
The staff were exceptional and could not do enough to assist us during our stay. We ate our evening meals in the restaurant and were amazed at the high standard, quality and presentation of our meals. The view from our room was of the Falls of Dochart! An amazing and beautiful place to stay!
Because of the all the positives that this charming place had to offer I will not dwell on any negatives as the positives far outweigh these.
Loved the location, right in the falls. Superb view from bedroom window. Great to be able to go downstairs to such a cosy welcoming pub/restaurant with excellent menu.
A little dark in the bedroom with the low energy lighting, but otherwise perfect.
Self contained cottage Cosy Private Kitchen facilities Very friendly helpful staff Beautiful location (right outside falls)
Setting, room, bed, staff, atmosphere, food and drinks were all excellent! Have stopped in several times in passing but this was 1st overnight stay and will definitely be back!
Singer that was the entertainer for the night was but monotone abd depressing.
the position the age the quality of food and the atmosphere
Situated in a beautiful picturesque spot, this old inn promised to be a treat, but that’s where it ended. Dinner was well prepared and delicious and the atmosphere in the downstairs restaurant was vibrant. Breakfast was also delicious, especially the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Best part – the stone circle about a kilometer up the side road.
We waited for five minutes to be checked in, something that happens at the bar and the owner/manager was busy serving customers at the packed restaurant. We were given our key and dismissed, to find our own way to the room. We had asked for a “Falls View” room, but the room at the end of the sloping corridor had a bridge view. You could just see the falls if you stood to the side of the window and looked diagonally (and uncomfortably) out. The room was small, dark and with a very uneven floor, and in order to boil the jug it had to be plugged in at the floor in the narrow space between the bed and the wall. Wifi reception was intermittent and there was no desk to comfortably sit at to use the laptop. The bathroom looked modern with slate tiles and large bathtub, but the tub was freestanding and with no walls up against it, or curtains around it, the hand held shower rose sometimes splashed on the floor. This, we found out, leaked through the unsealed floor and into the breakfast room below. There was no jam or marmalade provided until we asked for some, and although I requested soy milk when booking, it was not forthcoming. When discussing with the manager/owner about a tragedy at home that caused us to change our travel plans and leave a day early he was unsympathetic, dismissive and even rude, leaving the room in the middle of talking to us. He refused to discuss the possibility of a refund, except to refer us to Booking.com, who later told us he was adamant that we would not get a refund. Considering the variety of other places to stay, I would not stay here again.

bed was too soft
couldn't ask for a better view from our room (5 I think). fab food - dinner and breakfast.
room was right above bar and noisy with the live music on that night but not so bad that we didn't nod off
The food was of good quality and the staff were friendly.
Do not book the family room as it is poor value for money. It is tired and an oppressive room . They have attempted to cram too much into the room. Chipped furniture, shower head broken, poor lighting and cold.
As always the service was great, very accommodating and friendly. Great Saturday night entertainment and food was excellent.
location right beside waterfalls
Great location, the ambience in the bar was spot on, a big roaring fire and candles. Super friendly staff made us feel very welcome and the food was above expectations - we had the ox cheeks and Cullin Skink - both of which were delicious. A total find in an amazing spot. Good ale too.
Nothing to dislike. This is an old Scottish inn, so there are few bits of decor that look a bit tired and things are a bit creaky, but who cares?
Wonderful location, great mood. Unfortunately we stayed only a day, in the pub downstairs there was a very nice duo concert of guitar and bagpipe. Recommended.
View from bedroom beds bath Excellent breakfast
Steep stair (difficult for my mum) Socket for kettle Only a bath not a shower Very small TV
The food was all well presented and tasty. The Byre we stayed in was a selfcontained cottage.
