Great location, room, staff and food. And very, very relaxing.
What didn't I like? Having to leave
Food in hotel was really good, especially breakfast
Lack of information in hotel room.ie, time of breakfast,or where breakfast was served.
The location, friendly efficient staff, good food, real ales, comfy bed. feather pillows and duvet, décor, sleigh bed, underfloor heating in bathroom, bar, atmosphere, character, traditional, charming, romantic, welcoming, cosy, view from bedroom, dog welcome, real log fires, breakfasts, EVERYTHING.
If pushed, the music from downstairs can be heard in the rooms, but doesn't detract from the lovely holiday. The rooms are a wee bit small, but they just feel cosy and are very nice. I'd take that over a large room of lower quality.
Staff and the Bar
Cold room. Also was a bit disappointed having to wait 2 hours to check in at 3...with such a small number of rooms why does it take till 3 pm to prepare a room?
Lovely staff great food and a stunning location. Would happily recommend this hotel to friends.
Service and food were both excellent. Bed was extremely comfortable with copious amounts of hot water after a days walking! Fabulous location alongside a torrent of rapids. Lovely village with every facility.
Room was a tad small but we knew it was the last one available.
Food was great.Staff were great lovely and friendly.Great place to stay.
The rain but not anyone's fault
The atmosphere of the whole place The heated bathroom floor room 8
We had a great stay, good food and really pleasant and helpful staff. We were with our two younger children sharing the family room. Many previous reviews criticised the size of it. Yes it's small but what would you expect in an old traditional Scots inn. Great location and base to explore the Central Highlands.
LOVELY STAY ,LOG FIRE AT BREAKFAST NICE TOUCH.
We had wonderful time highly recommend room was spotless ..loved the country feel staff couldn't be nicer and food was top notch and will def be back soon thankyou x
Nothing at all
Food excellent, staff very friendly, very comfortable hotel
Typical Scotish hotel, in front of the falls. The meal was gorgeous.
warm welcome good food access to counrtyside easy.
bed too soft
The quality of our room, the restaurant and the bar were exceptional. Every member of staff was helpful and courteous at all times and the view from our room was beautiful .
The old building has lots of character but the rooms have been refurbished to a good standard. The breakfast was fantastic - local smoked salmon with free range eggs, high quality full Scottish, local fresh fruit yoghurts...!
Low ceilings, tall people beware!
Beautiful location.Had a wonderful dinner there and breakfast the next morning was great! Staff very friendly and attentive.
Perfect location Great heritage building EXCELLENT restaurant! Lovely people
Stayed in Byre which was very crampt, cupboard for a bathroom with sink almost as big as the shower! Surface clean only, dripping tap owner not really interested furniture uncomfortable, dated and poor. Colder in the Byre than outside. Owner liked to ask questions but not listen to you, repeated every thing back at you on a booming voice endevouring to be a cockney, burnt the pastries but served them any way, didnt bother to serve any the following day. Food was ok (just ok) but extremely over priced, so much potential here wasted by unproffesionals !
The staff,the atmosphere.A great warm,old fashioned Hotel.
Loved the place so much - going back
The location, excellent food and cosy bar with open fire. The variety of dishes available was excellent.
The bed was small and the mattress too soft. The quilt was too thick and heavy for the unseasonal warm temperatures. Maybe a summer weight one should be provided as well. Also there was no shower over the bath.
We loved the view from our window, the friendliness, excellent walksfrom the door, breakfast, service and food
We stayed at the Inn for two nights during our trip to The Ryder Cup. Rooms were clean, warm and very well decorated. The Inn is very old so don't expect some characterless modern box. The floors are a bit wonky and the walls aren't straight but we thought it was lovely. The view from our bedroom window was amazing, right over the waterfalls. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food is excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and we couldn't fault our stay one bit.
The staff were exceptional and could not do enough to assist us during our stay. We ate our evening meals in the restaurant and were amazed at the high standard, quality and presentation of our meals. The view from our room was of the Falls of Dochart! An amazing and beautiful place to stay!
Because of the all the positives that this charming place had to offer I will not dwell on any negatives as the positives far outweigh these.
