Score from 117 reviews Superb
breakfast was fine. bed comfortable.
5pm check in. obvious signs of leaks in the room. cooking smell from the kitchen throughout the upper floors.
The pub was near to Chester, and the food served was of a very high standard.
We wanted a cosy pub in the countryside.Sadly, our room was cold when we arrived, although an additional heater was given. However, the rest of the pub was draughty and cold.
The food was lovely attentive staff and nice pub
bedroom could have been cleaner Flies on the floor and dirty toilet and pubic hair in the shower
Very friendly welcome and attentive staff.
Initial sight of a rather shabby exterior and closed doors until 5pm did not look welcoming.
Everything including the professional courtesy of the owner.
There was nothing not to like about this place. We stayed for just the one night but we had family staying close so we booked a table for six at dinner. The staff were really friendly and helpful the food was excellent in all it was a really enjoyable evening and great value for money Yvonne was the most friendly and welcoming proprietor we have ever come across and we would definitely stay here again. full marks all round.
Very attentive, happy staff and a big plus to see cask ale.
Unfortunately mattress most uncomfortable. This being my only gripe as would stay at The Farndon again.
A traditional B&B that caters for all your needs. We will be staying there again and telling our friends
Staff were cheerful helpful and keen to help. They clearly got on with each other. This helped to create a welcoming atmosphere.
It was a pity that the staff smoked. You could smell it on breath and clothes. They had my sympathy, however, because it seems that the people all around smoke like chimneys. I don't think I'm being oversensitive.
The friendly atmosphere and the lovely décor in the rooms throughout, food was tasty and well presented.
The outside of the building could do with a little TLC as it does not reflect the inside of the building.
the bed was comfortable. the room was clean. the syaff were very friendly & accomodating. the area was lovely & convenient for chestet & liverpool.
the tv signal was bad. the shower leaked & was luke warm. but in all fairness this was probably a one off as they explained they were awaiting the leak to be fixed & gave us a bottle of wine for our inconvenience & knocked some off our bill.
Good all round!!!
Loved our room- it was beautiful! Liked the little extra touches such as a dish of sweets and gorgeous storage boxes :) staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was superb. Would highly recommend. Thank you!
In lovely village. /Excellent food at hotel. Quiet, even though on the main village street.
There are steep stairs to the rooms and no lift so you need to be aware of that if not able to climb stairs then probably not for you.
The staff were very friendly. The restaurant meal was excellent and our room was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back.
The lovely wecolme the friendliness of the staff, the great food, excellent breakfast,
We had the Raven Suite which cannot be faulted, It contained a fully-fitted kitchen which we did not need to use as there was an excellent choice of breakfast included in the dining room. We have family in the village but we will definitely stay there again.
Nothing to report.
Location, we were attending a church service at the church nearby and were able to leave a car. The manager was also prepared to let us check out 30 mins later than we were supposed to and was very friendly. The rooms were comfortably furnished with everything you could need - all tucked away somewhere.
The room smelt faintly of smoke which became very apparent during the night, almost as if it was the sheets which smelt. On arrival the poor girl serving behind the bar and waitressing in the restaurant was the only member of staff available to show us up to our room. She was very friendly but clearly very busy and it wasn't the warm welcome we had been expecting from other reviews.
Friendly, very accommodating staff. Quiet area. Comfortable bed in a lovely large room.
Slight smell of drains in the en suite in the evening. Water was not quite hot enough in the shower in the morning.
The staff where very friendly and helpful. And the food was lovely.
Good village location with good access to Chester and Wales.
It suited our needs at a fair price.
Having to use the fire escape for late night entry.
Mould growing in the shower enclosure. Cobwebs in the central light fitting. Table lamps that were no good to read by. No hot water in the morning. The toilet would not flush properly. Rubbish left in a drawer from a previous guest. Summer weight duvet. Dressing gowns with fraying edges. The waitress forgetting my wife's breakfast altogether.
Very friendly, everything you need in a B&B. Comfortable bed, tasty breakfast and great location.
Comfortable bed. Lovely bedroom. Excellent breakfast.
