Breakfast, Room, Everything. Gillian and Andy were the perfect hosts.
Nothing not to like, it was perfect
Location is great!! Perfect for a getaway break in a great town!
Friendly welcome Excellent breakfast with wide choice Very clean and nicely decorated Tea making facilities in room and also provided bottled water daily
Limited car parking
The owners cater for every need, if it is not there just ask. Really good breakfast and comfortable clean bed. Perfect
Stairs, but then we do have some problem as my wife has a bad back. This does not take anything away from the hotel and if we go back to the IOW we would definitely stay at the Fawley again.
10 out of 10 for everything - the room the food and the location. The owners were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. I intend to recommend The Fawley to anyone going to the beautiful Isle of Wight.
Cannot think of a single thing
Before we choose any accommodation we generally check out the reviews, This accommodation was spot on, from the friendly welcome by Andy and Gillian, the advise from Andy of were to eat and attractions to visit was very helpful. In No 8 room, spotlessly clean, fab shower, comfy bed, room overlooks the main road but is very quiet at night (can sleep with window open). Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection to choose from i.e. cooked full English, Pancakes, plus "special board" which is changed each morning,Guest House is a pleasant 3 to 4 mins walk to the esplanade and 5 to 6 mins to the old town, would most definitely recommend the Fawley and would love to go back. I would like to wish Andy and Gillian on there forthcoming "WEDDING" Congratulation
Not a thing
Even though we had booked a small room it was bigger than we were expecting. The owners offered to get us discount on ferry fares. Food & service excellent. 4 star heaven. Will go back again & again.
Clean tidy, the breakfast was excellent, even the coffee in the room;s was good ,which is a first for us,Andy and Gillian were very friendly, what more do you need
The accommodation was very comfortable and the little extras made it special. The breakfasts were superb - healthy and we were spoilt for choice and all in all made feel very welcome. A memorable stay and one we hope to repeat.
excellent service. fantastic choice of breakfast and cooked the healty way !! nothing was to much trouble..... good luck for the wedding ..xx
Spotlessly clean and very comfortable stay. Excellent breakfast and plenty of choice
only 5 car park spaces for 9 rooms so some nights had to park along the road. Hard pillows
Friendly Greeting,Excellent Breakfasts,Would go again.
Everything! We were welcomed on arrival by Andy who showed us to our room and gave us some useful tips on where to visit and eat etc. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Breakfast was cooked to order and nothing was too much trouble for Andy or Gillian. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the Island.
Room - clean modern with comfortable bed and smart bathroom, as well as TV, Wi-Fi and the little extras that make all the difference. Breakfast was excellent too and the Hotel is ideally situated - just a 2 minute walk to the seafront or 5 minutes to the High St. Owners are friendly and welcoming.
Having to leave and go Home after only 3 days!!
The Fawley is comfortable, Clean & Beautifully decorated.
The dirty room and the mean land mother.
Friendly hosts. The breakfast was outstanding, with plenty to have. To last you till evening. They even went out of their way to get Gluten Free sausages. Rooms were clean, tidy and spacious.
nothing to dislike about The Fawley.
All else being equal when choosing from the many four-star small hotel/guest houses in and near Shanklin the big question to be answered is what makes one particular hotel stand out, head and shoulders above the rest? At The Fawley, of course, one expects and gets a very comfortable and spotless room, complete with en-suite , satellite TV, tea and coffee making supplies (with the option of fresh milk!) in unstinting quantity and quality (including herbal and fruit teas!). And a decent breakfast, of course. So far, so good. Except that that is far from the whole story. Quite simply, what makes The Fawley quite remarkable in its class (i.e. of "four star" hotels/guest houses) is the level of attention to detail and the quality of care shown to guests. This is best exemplified by the breakfasts (for which the owners have also deservedly received four-star commendation). One is offered a stunning choice of cooked breakfast to follow home-made fruit-salad, yoghurts (and home-made fruit coulis!), patisserie and toast. During the four nights we stayed at The Fawley we had, amongst other things, locally sourced Isle of Wight sausage (stunning) and bacon (ditto), eggs - at least three ways (including with smoked salmon!), pancakes, muffins, kippers (delicious). And, to cap it all, some lovely home-made jams. In addition to that the owner very kindly looked after for me some extremely smelly garlic (I had bought from the local Garlic Farm - an attraction not to be missed, by the way) which was a small, but very, very telling, example of the kind of care lavished on guests: well beyond normal service and expectation. This is perfection. What makes The Fawley stand out above the rest is that perfection is standard.
Owners, food, cleanliness
Only one opening window
Everything, our room was beautifully decorated, all the facilities you could need and free WiFi the owners were very friendly and helpful, my wife and I would certainly stay there again if we went to the Isle of Wight.
Friendly welcome. Well appointed room. Great breakfasts.
No parking space for every room. We had to park down the road one night.
- Friendly and helpful hosts - Great breakfast with plenty of choice - Good location
Everything about this B&B was excellent. Delicious breakfast with an extensive menu to suit all tastes. Gillian also booked our ferry fare which gave us a considerable discount on any crossing we could have booked our selves. Location was excellent for getting around Shanklin on foot.
More a tip! But please note that in the season it may be advisable to reserve a table for dinner at the restaurants on the seafront as they fill very quickly.
