The Feathers is in a good location right on the market place in Helmsley. The bedroom was large and very comfortable, and the bed was enormous!! We ate dinner in the Feathers on both evenings of our stay, and the food was very good, service was excellent. We felt the whole experience was a pleasure, and very good value for money.
Great little hotel with a typical English pub serving great food at a reasonable price.
Friendly Staff, the food and the general atmosphere.
No Lamp or plug point near the dressing table mirror (from a ladies point of view)
Room 22 spacious and well appointed facilities. Cosy bar area.
Bedroom too hot, heating on all night with noise from the boiler. Room 22 situated above delivery area, hence unwanted noise. Restaurant meals not much wider choice than the bar. Chips with most menu items.
Excellent pub. Nice room. Excellent location.
Friendly staff lovely food and lovely homely feeling. We will certainly stay again and we very rarely stay at the same place twice.
Situation of hotel. Nice atmosphere. Lovely old character building. Friendly and helpful staff. Good wholesome traditional English food. Comfortable bed. Good hospitality tray.
En-suite very small with no shelving at all. We had to leave toilet bags in bedroom or use toilet cistern as a shelf. Soap dish in shower hanging off. Car park muddy. Shower had black mould on tiles and silicone joints. Sower head not in good position/easily adjustable. Rusty hook on en-suite door. Broken stool in bedroom. No space for hair/makeup products on dressing table, as hospitality tray almost fills area.
the locality(centre) Friendly staff friendliness of other residents faclities Full english breakfast buit options
Hotel fine but if staying longer not an awful lot to do in Helmsley. Would require a car to venture further. Only one local pub.
Great evening meal and breakfast. One of the best power showers I have ever had.
The only gripe which is a minor one was that our room was too hot despite leaving the window open all night.
the room was large clean and warm service was very good breakfast was excellent would stay again
evening meal was not as good as breakfast
Staff were so friendly and welcoming! Rooms have everything you need! Very clean!! Excellent selection for breakfast too, staff very attentive! Highly recommended
Flexibility, good atmosphere, good restaurant
Bed was a little too hard for me
Lovely room, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent location
Location as on market square in the centre of Helmsley
Back bedroom a little noisy from beer delivery and kitchen staff
staff helpful and friendly. Wonderful food especially breakfast. good location - would recommend to anyone
everyone was friendly and all staff would go out of there way to help.
the public bar area could of been kept a little tidier especially around the fireplace.
Friendly and helpful staff, cosy and comfortable, excellent food and service. Room lovely and warm.
No shelves in bathroom for toiletries, etc in room 12.
Pub felt homely, felt quite happy going into the bar for a meal on my own. Modern en suite and traditional bedroom, cosy.
Parking was behind the pub and slightly up the road. Fine for me, but not for people with mobility issues.
Huge room, large shower, good heating, excellent food and bar facilities.
lovely evening meal. good quality food and large potions. twin room spacious and very clean. comfortable beds
our welcome was poor. we were 40 mins early and receptionist was unwelcoming and sarcastic. room hadnt been checked properly, clothes in drawer. room very hot and unable to open windows
Found the location great and easy to find - room fine - reception and room staff helpful - good nights sleep
Limited parking - generally stuffy smell - bar areas has large TV which was so load with a sports theme (football) it was difficult to talk - bar man refused to turn volume down - regretfully we decided to eat and drink elsewhere
No access to restaurant so we couldn't eat, Bar was also full so had to eat out
Super big room ,great evening meal and good breakfast. Lovely to be so central in this lovely place.
A bit noisy early in the morning as we were near the bins etc
Had to eat evening meal in the pub and order at the bar
