The whole experience especially dinner was amazing. I loved the service staff and room. Oh the check out guy needs to smile a bit more (he may have been from management!!!!) departure 20 Jan 0830.
The WIFI speed :(
Room was really comfortable, clean and stylish. We are away from the main hotel at the back so it was really quiet. Didn't eat dinner there but had breakfast which was good with plenty of choice although the service was slow. Thing to note about the parking signs in the village is that they are no longer valid, so you can park anywhere for any length of time.
Paid £99 for the room incl breakfast, the latest rate seems to be around £299 which I would struggle to pay for. Wifi didn't work in the room but was fine in the main building
Location good Breakfast good Good size room
Room was directly above reception so noisy and could hear staff talking all night. Mattress was uncomfortable not good for my back.
Well decorated, clean and comfortable with good breakfast and the biggest range of gin ever seen in a bar!
Having to ask for tea and coffee - would have preferred it in the room. Bar prices but steep at £12 for a glass of wine.
NICE DECOR, LUXURY ENSUITE COMFORTABLE , QUIET BEDROOM
No car parking on site. Narrow , winding staircase up to bedroom ( unsuitable for some guests )
He room was beautiful but extremely expensive. The bar food was excellent and the warmth of the environment, log fires and decor were all very welcoming.
The fact that wifi did not work. Spent two days without any contact.
Sitting for a very long time without food
Comfort, individuality, homeliness, convenience
Standard of food was very disappointing. Breakfast bacon soggy, ?microwaved. Evening meal "institutional" rather than 4-star. Love the place and will return but not to dine.
Wonderful staff, excellent room (we were in Suite 3). The food is other-worldly - I have never eaten better in England. Very short walk to Blenhiem Palace, a spectacular visit. We plan to return for certain, and are recommending it to our friends who visit England.
Character hotel, in a good position for touring Oxfordshire. The hotel food was excellent
Difficult to park near to the hotel
A lovely quaint hotel in a good location. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to other travellers.
Cosy bedroom Very comfortable Friendly staff Great location Superb breakfast
Downstairs not welcoming or comfortable in living room and bar area - receptions area and restaurant were nice though. Non existent wifi upstairs.
Very convenient for an early start at Blenheim Palace - the reason for the trip. The place had strong character (almost quirky) and some interesting decoration and art work throughout.
We were lucky to find a parking space - but it could have been a problem. Would have much preferred tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
staff location food room service room & bed
Lovely quirky room with excellent modern conveniences. Wonderful selection for breakfast which is made-to-order. Unimaginable varieties of gin in the gin bar! Staff very friendly, courteous and helpful and nothing too much trouble.
Would have preferred a more cosy atmosphere in the Gin bar and drinks very expensive.
Staff were extremely friendly
Close proximity to attractions, Blenheim palace, Oxford, Bicester Village
Despite advising the staff I had booked the room for my husband's birthday we had a room it seemed in the attic and the fans for the kitchen woke us up at 6am. Avoid room 14 if possible.
Staff and breakfast .
Hotel looking a bit tired
Very characterful hotel with friendly helpful staff and a great restaurant. Good situation in the quaint old village of Woodstock with easy, free on street parking and walking distance from Blenheim Palace.
Wifi was very hit and miss.
Great place for a weekend break really enjoyed our stay excellent breakfast superb g and t
Slow wi fi in room
The fact that we couldn't eat in the hotel because it was fully booked. Felt a bit 'second class' because we had obviously paid less than some guests. Room was probably its poorest room over the kitchen with very loud cooling device.
Location in town
- dark rooms that need updating. - Very noisy - can hear next doors toilet, shower and tv.
Breakfast was the star well cooked and well presented by friendly and efficient staff.
Parking could be a problem but did not spoil our stay
The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable
The staff were very friendly but sadly just not up to scratch. Around 9pm we asked if we could eat in the restaurant and were told yes but we'd have to wait 30-45mins. We said fine but when we asked again after 45 mins were told we'd have to settle for the bar menu eaten in the bar. Fortunately the excellent Italian up the road could squeeze us in. The next morning I called to order breakfast but just got the tea and not the two full English breakfast I had ordered. When it did come it was without toast, salt or pepper. Little things but if you want to charge over £200 for a double room you really must do better. A great disappointment as the hotel promised so much but just didn't deliver.
Lovely room and location
