The Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa  

The staff were very attentive and helpfull. The spa facility was clean and tranquill and the outside pool was warm. The room was clean and tastefully decorated.

The dining menu was all fine food and a little too fancy with small portions. The service was also very slow taking over two hours to serve an evening meal. The prices for extras were over expensive as were the treatments in the Spa.

Friendly staff, ideal location, a quality you only get from an individual hotel.

The rooms were excellent.But in our bathroom both taps in the sink had redhot water in them. My wife stumbled down a step to the bedroom and injured her back so we left after only one night out of a booked four. Cost £300!!

Thredbare stairscarpet, poor choice dinner menu, ridiculous price of pre dinner drinks and dinner wines. £45 as a resident towards evening meal was too low. Example £14 95 starters £28 95 main £12 95 cheese board!!! Wines £25/£480.

Excellent friendly staff. The greeting at the door by the concierge was a top class greeting, as good as I've had at many top hotels and better than most. We can not speak highly enough of the staff, we will definitely come again.

The food was disappointing. For £170 for two, we expected an exceptional dining experience and unfortunately were very disappointed. The breakfast was even worse.

Dirty cups in room but they were changed. Room needed updating. Food/fine dining very pretentious lacked any real flavour. Definitely, overpriced. Overall, not worth the hefty price tag,poor value for money. If your charging premium prices then you need to up your game.

the room was very comfortable and of a good standard and the breakfast was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful and pleasant.

The spa facilities were great but i did want to try out the hottub but on the day we went to use it there were already 4 people in it and they stayed in it for several hours which then meant we coudn't experience it and so i think they should put a time limit on the time people are allowed in it.

evening meal booked for 9.15 not seated till 9.45 then another 15mins before starter, then another 30minute gap betwwen starter and main course. shame as food was fantastic but so late it made eating it not as much of a pleasure more a im starving kind of feeling.

All the staff made us feel so welcome and the whole feel of the place just oozes luxury and promotes such a relaxed atmosphere

The heat rooms in the spa could have done with being hotter

We much enjoyed our three-day stay,in a comfortable suite. The staff were enthusiastic, though working seemingly long hours. As good a hotel breakfast as you could want.

The a la carte dinner menu had 3 or 4 choices per course, and did not change during our 3 night stay. We were not warned in advance that we should have pre-booked the spa to have much chance of a session.

Expensive!!, arrived 3pm room not ready and nowhere to park our car. Staff took keys and said they would move our car off single yellow line when space became available, space available car not moved!! Had afternoon tea, again expensive and very disjointed service, hot drinks after 10 minutes food did not arrive for 25minutes ( only had 4 miniscule sandwiches and 4 small scones with cream and jam. ) Had evening meal in restaurant, again expensive, food quality very good, portion size very poor and no side dishes available to supplement lack of quantity. Gourmet cuisine is all well and good but leaving a restaurant still hungry is pretty poor!!! Will not be back.

The rooms were extremely large, well equipped and well presented.

There were a few areas of the hotel decor that would have benefitted from a VERY SLIGHT additional attention to detail.

The staff were excellent, the food good and the rooms were brilliant. I couln't fault the service or the atmosphere.

The room was exceptionally noisy, we were wakened during the night by poeple walking up and down the corridors and the traffic noise from the road was quite unbearable.

We loved the location, it felt like pure escapism; a combination of the best features of a boutique hotel and a country house break, but with a bustling market town outside the front door. Staff are generous with their time and help, without being cloying and overbearing. Breakfast is delightful. The spa, pool, gardens, library and lounges make it a great destination for familiess or adults. Suite was a pure delight, and a pleasant surprise!

The dinner menu is all about fine dining, and whilst service and attention to detail are memorable and of a high quality, I would consider eating out next time, in terms of value and quantity. Our room was such a great deal that we felt we could justify the expense on this occasion.

The outside pool was a real treat as it was sunny for a change. The hotel is very relaxed. Really enjoyed our stay.

The surroundings were lovely and the hotel in an excellent position for visiting the town and for local countryside walks. The restaurant was very pleasant and the food amazing. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. In general staff were very attentive and our evening waiter was pleasant and professional. We enjoyed our stay overall.

The hotel is a little tired although the new owners are in the process of updating the place. There is a sign in reception apologising for any inconvenience. We stayed Tuesday night, and whilst having pre dinner drinks in the bar, workmen were walking through with deliveries. Not ideal. At breakfast the waitress forgot our toast and coffee/tea order and we had to remind her. She then asked if we would like sauces but these didn't arrive until we were half way through our breakfast. I did feed this back to the receptionist on checkout and she was extremely apologetic.
