Great location, pleasant staff and immaculate rooms.
Location, 7 minute walk into Ambleside. Lovely Bathroom in luxury garden room
Lack of tissues in luxury garden room No mention of free wi fi during our stay
Nice welcome with a pot of tea. Immaculate decor. Excellent breakfast, well thought out menu. Wonderful view of the Coniston fells. Price.
Room slightly compact but very comfortable.
traffic outside the bedroom and an office opposite, the window has no lace curtains so you must draw the night curtains to change.
Great location with ample parking, with a short stroll into Ambleside. Staff friendly and accommodating, great breakfast.
We loved the bathroom and the bed was really comfortable. It was clean, the staff was friendly and at breakfast they could not have been more attentive. The variety there was also very good with a special compliment on the rum butter.
As a couple with an infant child I found the facility lacking in terms of pushchair access. It was rather difficult. Two of us had to literally lift either ends of the pushchair whenever we were leaving the facility and coming back. The television in the room is extremely tiny and as we went in November and the time was really cold it would seem as if the heater is turned on and off at a certain time. We woke up at about 5 am freezing and the baby was also shivering. I also didn't like along the parking area as there were bits of junk along the side and the internal entrance could do with an update.
The room was lovely
The breakfast was not great
The hotel is a very good location for Ambleside and is very easy to find. The owner was very helpful and was very knowledgable about local walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Breakfasts were excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere
everything! fantastic warm welcome, lovely attentive staff, wonderful facilities and beautiful accomodation. We will be back!
Breakfast, Cleanliness, Coffee and Food
Noise, creaking floorboards and other guests.
Everyone was so friendly and nothing was a bother to them. The young lady on reception when we arrived even helped carry our luggage to our room. The waitresses at breakfast were so attentive. They did everything but eat our breakfast!!! Decor in hotel was beautiful - a lot of thought gone into it.
Leaving to come home!!
View was lovely room was lovely staff very helpful.
Didn't like no evening meal facility.
The Hotel was centrally located which was ideal for us as we liked to go out into Ambleside in the evenings. The staff were freindly and polite at all times, the food was excellent. The room was clean, tidy and very well furnished. The bathroom was excellent with shower and bath. All round extremely pleased and would definitley go back again.
The only fault I can find with it was the wifi in our room was not as good as we would have liked.
Everything. We have been going to the Fisherbeck for many years which is testimony to how much we like it. Perfectly placed for access to the Lake District. Very comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. Staff always pleased to see us and very helpful. Have absolutely no criticisms whatsoever.
This is a quality establishment. From the greeting with a cup of coffee, to the gourmet breakfast of excellent local fare, to the beautifully appointed rooms, to the fine common areas - not forgetting the excellent attention of the host & his staff - we totally enjoyed a relaxing, first rate stay at the Fisherbeck
Nothing it was all good.
The rooms are lovely, spacious and modern. The bathroom and the shower in particular were awesome. Very friendly staff and eager to please.
There was not a lot to dislike really.
clean room, comfortable bed, very good breakfast
carrying a big suitcase up 3 floors, car parking was tight
The Hotel, the friendly Staff and the owner Ray who always inquired how things were. The location, close to town and bus stop outside hotel, very convenient. The lovely breakfast with a great choice.
The view from our room, a brick wall ! A little hot in the room at night even with window open.
Good clean and relatively quiet hotel. Staff helpful. Good breakfasts
Parking is a major issue. Inadequate space for number of cars. Had to park in centre of car park both nights and leave the keys with the hotel to move the vehicle about! Not satisfactory.
Cleanliness and service as well as the handy location to both the village and the wharf. The establishment is a cross over from B and B to Hotel/Motel which makes it more spacious and comfortable than the average B and B the only thing which would improve the place would be the addition of a small fridge to the rooms.
Friendly Staff, comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
The management, staff, room, service and food were all excellent - we loved our stay!
Nothing to not like
Very nice facility and seemed newly remodeled. Our room was nicely furnished and we really liked the outside private deck. Good full breakfast menu. Raymond, the owner of the facility, was almost always on site and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, especially with hiking information and suggestions. Very detailed directions, which were quite helpful in finding our way.
