Nothing in particular
The room was bright and roomy, but I think we had the best room that looked out over the River Exe
The food was outstanding and the staff were lovely. The rooms were upto any hotel chain standard but larger and sooo quiet.
wi fi was intermittent
Very good location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good as were the meals we had during our stay. The room was very spacious with easy access. Liked the location of the patio and the outlook.
Although the bed/bedding/towels were very clean, certain parts of the accommodation were however a little bit grubby and needed a deeper clean and a bit more attention. Patio area run down and in need of repair and tidying up. Didn't put us off though and would still recommend to others and return ourselves!
The room was clean and spacious, and the bed very comfortable!
WiFi wasn't available in our room or the bar. One of the bar staff was snappy with me when I was at the bar waiting to order food - which then made me feel uncomfortable the rest of the stay, as she remained on the bar that afternoon and took my breakfast order the next day.
Food was very good and staff excellent
Room was awful,en-suite smaller than a telephone booth ans also had a sloping ceiling so could not stand up. Sloping ceilings also in bedroom, which was already small and cramped. No shops nearby and roads very busy with no pavements.
Location by the river. Bedroom clean and appeared to be newly decorated. Generous amount of coffee/tea facilities in room. Good parking. Friendly helpful staff.
Main public areas in need of an update.
Friendly helpful staff.
Would like a bigger menu choice, more starters
Television did not work woken early by early morning delivery lorries as we overlooked the car park.
Excellent service, friendly staff, good beer and food, what more could you ask for!!!
Location and history , a childhood haunt re visited. Good sunny weather makes it doubly pleasurable to sit and relax, beside the River Exe at such a famous setting.
High chargeable cost of the varied menu meals . Although the breakfast and food quality could not be faulted. The road to Exeter hasn't inprooved !
The location, the friendliness and politeness of the staff.
The bed in room 6 - it seemed it was at an angle and was not very comfortable. The pub area could do with refurbishment.
Location on the river eve very friendly people running it and nothing was to much for them if you wanted something different
The location for Exmoor was great. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Sitting outside having a drink in the evening was brilliant. Saw my first Kingfisher perched on a branch, close up in real life after searching during 40 years of trekking. Stunning location. Looking forward to going back in the winter and the open fires.
Nothing at all.
Location, staff friendliness and helpfulness.
Room alittle dusty in places
The setting The friendly, helpful staff
Duvets - we never sleep well with a duvet. It's a case of too hot with the duvet on - throw it off and then get cold. Therefore it is difficult to get a good nights sleep
Friendly reception, plenty of parking, clean room.
Very low ceiling in shower room, a good thing that I am short !
lStaff very Pleasant and Helpfull and Great Breakfast
needs A bit Of T . L . C
A very nice property in a lovely setting. A nice restaurant with a moderate menu served by obliging, pleasant wait staff completing a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Location is idyllic, lovely river view from very comfortable room, good food at reasonable price, especially enjoyed the carvery on Sunday.
Would have liked to have been able to get a sandwich on Sunday evening, and the early 10.30 bar closure was disappointing, suggest having a few newspapers at reception as no where within short walking distance to buy.
friendly and helpful staff. tranquil and peaceful by the channel. excellent food. comfortable room.
free Wi-Fi a bit hit and miss.
