Beautiful thatched roofed property on the river. Excellent setting and base for exploring both north and South Devon

The Location is good and it's lovely with the river running at the back of the pub. Good location for visiting places of interest.

The twin bedroom was a fair size but the bathroom was very small with a sloping ceiling which made it incredibly difficult to stand up straight without banging your head. If we had been staying any longer I would have ask to be moved.

Location. Friendly and helpful staff. Quality of food was average apart from the breakfasts which were excellent.

The accommodation was shabby and not particularly clean. Bed was uncomfortable. The whole place looked in need of a makeover.

Our room overlooking the weir. The food and drink, it was relaxing and peaceful.

Busy road but wouldn't put us off staying again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely location right on the riverside. Spacious room.

Bed was a bit small especially given the size of the room.

The bed was very comfy and the shower was good. Lots of wardrobe space and a great menu in the pub.

Wi-fi was very patchy and kept cutting out while I was trying to do work.

Excellent location, good beer and cracking food!! Cute ducks and rabbits too

The step into my room from outside the patio doors was a broken slab placed on top of each other. I fell inside!!

Brilliant staff from manager down. 80th Birthday party for my wife handled very well with smiling and extremely helpful waitresses. Well done. Passed my comments to Warren Zilch.

Thought menu very restricted compared to e.g Red Deer Crediton and New Meon Petersfield. Tv reception

Setting idyllic. Room excellent. Evening menu ideal. Breakfast excellent. Staff cheerful and friendly.

The veranda, spoils the setting. Why not grow a vine, they will grow there as you can see a vineyard from the hotel, to hide the hideous perspex. Why did BBC1 need a pin code to access?

    Reasonable location, good food

A little bit out on a limb in terms of location. Rooms ok but not really anything special so probably a bit overpriced for what you got.

Loveley location by the river, eating alfresco, pretty gardens. they do prepare some of their own food, toast was cut from a loaf as opposed to plastic sliced bread, be quick on desserts, make sure to tell them you want to eat as it is very popular and busy, friendly staff

room was very hot, the fan that we were told would be put in the room never materialised, being near water subject to midges in the room.

Lovely location by the river. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the dinner and breakfast were excellent. Comfortable bed.

We had a room in one of the outside "lodges". OK for 1 night but probably suffers from dampness problems. Outside of the "lodges" is fairly unattractive and could do with some TLC

The location is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful natural surroundings. The river makes a lovely view from the window and the terrace.

The river is quite loud but you quickly get used to it.
