The location, the friendliness and politeness of the staff.
The bed in room 6 - it seemed it was at an angle and was not very comfortable. The pub area could do with refurbishment.
Location on the river eve very friendly people running it and nothing was to much for them if you wanted something different
The location for Exmoor was great. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Sitting outside having a drink in the evening was brilliant. Saw my first Kingfisher perched on a branch, close up in real life after searching during 40 years of trekking. Stunning location. Looking forward to going back in the winter and the open fires.
Nothing at all.
Location, staff friendliness and helpfulness.
Room alittle dusty in places
The setting The friendly, helpful staff
Duvets - we never sleep well with a duvet. It's a case of too hot with the duvet on - throw it off and then get cold. Therefore it is difficult to get a good nights sleep
Friendly reception, plenty of parking, clean room.
Very low ceiling in shower room, a good thing that I am short !
lStaff very Pleasant and Helpfull and Great Breakfast
needs A bit Of T . L . C
A very nice property in a lovely setting. A nice restaurant with a moderate menu served by obliging, pleasant wait staff completing a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Location is idyllic, lovely river view from very comfortable room, good food at reasonable price, especially enjoyed the carvery on Sunday.
Would have liked to have been able to get a sandwich on Sunday evening, and the early 10.30 bar closure was disappointing, suggest having a few newspapers at reception as no where within short walking distance to buy.
friendly and helpful staff. tranquil and peaceful by the channel. excellent food. comfortable room.
free Wi-Fi a bit hit and miss.
Young waiters very polite and attentive. Wi fi good and room very clean. Setting really lovely by the river.
Needs a bit of money spending on it. Canopy over outside tables by river leaked like mad when it rained! Was hilarious really - everyone getting wet! Lady on reception came out and shooed a rat away from under one of the tables outside. (She must be used to it!) Shouldn't be rats around if vermin control in place properly! Don't care if it is by the river - it wasn't a water rat! Food should have been good, no reason for it not to be as menu straightforward, but it wasn't. Beer battered cod - only serve if its white and flaky with fresh crisp batter. Ours was grey and batter overcooked. This hotel as a place in its setting deserves better - and I really mean that! It should be lovely, but it wasn't really. Oh, and the mattress was old and worn. Come on! Get a grip! You can't trade on the thatch and the river with it's fishing heron forever! What a shame! (Check out window of Ladies loo - get it swept and cleaned!)
Lovely helpful staff and nice clean rooms. Beautiful location.
Nice location next to the river and very close if your visiting the vineyard. Food was good with a wide range of choice, but slightly more expensive than normal pub prices. massive cooked breakfast with huge slices of toast which we had trouble finishing. Had a nice large room away from the pub, as we had asked for a quiet room. Room was remade each morning and tea and biscuits restocked
Needs a coat of paint in the rooms and in the pub. Could hear the people in the next room having a shower in the mornings. Was unable to open the windows in the room. Nowhere to sit inside the pub just to have a drink in the evening as all tables were used for meals.
Beautiful thatched roofed property on the river. Excellent setting and base for exploring both north and South Devon
The Location is good and it's lovely with the river running at the back of the pub. Good location for visiting places of interest.
The twin bedroom was a fair size but the bathroom was very small with a sloping ceiling which made it incredibly difficult to stand up straight without banging your head. If we had been staying any longer I would have ask to be moved.
A lovely location right on the edge of the river. Very helpful friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Comfy clean rooms.
The location and setting. Friendly staff, good food and clean room. Great breakfast.
very nice place, and very good food nice and welcoming.
Location. Friendly and helpful staff. Quality of food was average apart from the breakfasts which were excellent.
The accommodation was shabby and not particularly clean. Bed was uncomfortable. The whole place looked in need of a makeover.
Very nice, peaceful setting. Very friendly staff. Great place to start a slow drive to Dartmoor.....
The setting was superb and the food and service good
Room quite tatty
The outside of the lodges needed a real tidy up
Our room overlooking the weir. The food and drink, it was relaxing and peaceful.
Busy road but wouldn't put us off staying again.
Great location overlooking the river as it flows accross the rocks on front if the hotel very relaxing
