Arrived late on Sunday night was met with a warm welcome management were extremely helpful, nothing was a problem, room was very clean Wifi worked well, all in all a very good stay for 4 days
The staff at Kingfisher's Cot are all friendly and very helpful. We wished we stayed 2 more days. Thank you Shaun, we will be back!
The character of the place, away from the hustle and bustle.
The bedroom wardrobe was not clean, in poor order not impressed, didn't use it for this reason also no hand soap in the dispensers.
The location was exceptional, with thundering water beside the hotel gardens. The staff were frierndly, extremely helpful and they were happy. It showed on their smiling faces.Staying there was a very enjoyable experience.
There wasn't a stool or a small table in the bathroom on which to put our toilet bags/clothes. Everything had to be placed on the floor. Also, for a twin room, only one chair.
Breakfast 1st day was not to be recommended but it did improve the second day
No hot water for shower in morning- well no water at all in shower.
The location beside the river, the room, a good breakfast overlooking the river.
Minor point - creaky floors
Location, food, friendly staff, room very comfortable.
Warm welcome, friendly staff, really helpful manager. The rooms were lovely and warm with such a comfortable bed.
Good standard of cleanliness throughout. Good food. Good real ale. Nice location for walking and exploring the local area. Plenty of parking.
Our room had no windows that could be used for ventilation, only a patio door. This could not be used for ventilation as we were on the ground floor (think security), consequently we found the room got a little stuffy. In summer it would be simply unbearable! Very little storage (drawers, hangars, etc) for clothes, which meant that everything had to be left folded in our bags... Not a big problem for our two night break, but wouldn't be so good during a longer stay.
great location, very friendly staff, good local ales, very good food, very warm room for a winter visit, good showers with plenty of hot water, clean and tidy room, easy to find and plenty of parking, value for money with good breakfast included, would stay again..
room size a bit small but not a big problem.
A lovely old and characterful inn in a beautiful location. The manager and staff were friendly helpful and attentive, the atmosphere made a welcome change from impersonal hotel chains and compared favourably on price. Good breakfast.
Did not dislike anything enough to deter us from a return visit.
The staff were very welcoming & very friendly. Lovely location. The food was excellent. The room was lovely, clean & comfortable. I would definitely recommend it & would go there again.
Friendly staff with a warm welcome and stay. Food lovely.
Individual toiletries would have been nice.
The location and surroundings were excellent, and the hotel was generally in good clean order. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant, and the general layout of the room.
The sink in the en-suite was cracked, and the shower screen could've been a little cleaner. The TV and freeview box and all their wiring were exposed and tangled, and the box was placed on a chair, which didn't look that good. Our general impression of the whole hotel is that it was comfortable with generally good rooms, but could do with a little more TLC.
Friendly staff and good breakfast and excellent value for money
Portions of evening meal too large.
Good location Nice food
WiFi wasnt working
For pub-style meals the menu was varied and well-cooked. The venue was enchanting, and the staff friendly and helpful.
The news that a Marston's team is about to revamp the Fisherman's Cot menu. It horrifies us that it could end up like the White Hart in Duffield, Derby. Possibly the worst pub meal we have ever endured.
Food was very good
Nothing in particular
The room was bright and roomy, but I think we had the best room that looked out over the River Exe
The food was outstanding and the staff were lovely. The rooms were upto any hotel chain standard but larger and sooo quiet.
wi fi was intermittent
Very good location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good as were the meals we had during our stay. The room was very spacious with easy access. Liked the location of the patio and the outlook.
Although the bed/bedding/towels were very clean, certain parts of the accommodation were however a little bit grubby and needed a deeper clean and a bit more attention. Patio area run down and in need of repair and tidying up. Didn't put us off though and would still recommend to others and return ourselves!
