The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the breakfast was made from tasty, local produce.
Beautiful hotel, ideal for visiting Waddesdon Manor. Large bedroom with fantastic shower room and extremely comfortable bed
Everything, but could have done with a footstool to help me get in the high four-poster bed! Gave my husband and I a giggle though!
Wished the receptionist had got back to me to let me know whether or not they had found an item I may have left behind.
Wonderful experience. One of the best hotels I have stayed in for a very long time. Beautiful room. Old stable block very recently renovated. Beautiful décor. Excellent food and service in the restaurant and at breakfast.
The road into Aylesbury but the hotel cannot be blamed for that!
The rooms (8+5) were very tired looking, furniture well used, bathroom (5)very small, nothing like the website. As we had booked a table for 8 adults + 2 children for lunch, letting the hotel know that this was a big birthday, we fully expected some token of acknowledgment from the hotel, like a small cake or similar with our coffee. All rather disappointing, would not recommend this hotel
Good bed! Moved to main building on arrival as allocated twin bed not the double requested-quickly sorted-but rooms near the road prone to traffic noise early on.Very helpful staff.Good breakfast & evening meal.Good location to visit Waddesdon Manor.
Poor double glazing let in all the traffic noise, but room was nice. No public room/bar/relaxing area. The food tables spilled out to almost the front door.Only a couple of chairs, right in a corridor near check in to sit on.
Characterful hotel, food was good, location near to Waddesdon manor which we were visiting..
Wifi didn't work in the room
Lovely big bathroom with bath and shower Quiet room in annex away from road noise Reasonable prices for drinks at bar
The staff was delightful and rooms were clean. The restaurant was pleasant with very good food! Situated within walking distance to Waddesdon Manor which was lovely.
Walls were a little thin, could hear our neighbors.
breakfast scant poor sausage unable to cook fried bread bacon burnt tomato almost raw
Dinner Breakfast... very good selection of buffet and quality of cooked.....not greasy as many hotel offerings are. Staff all well trained, friendly and efficient.
We liked everything about hotel brilliant location for our needs (visiting national trust houses) would certainly stay again, food very good.
The staff where very friendly and most helpful we stayed in the annex across the courtyard, the room was large and airy with two large single comfy beds I asked for two extra pillows which appeared in less than 2 minutes the bathroom was large and very clean with soaps and shampoo's etc .The evening meal we had was very good along with the service you could not fault it along with the breakfast . I would highly recommend it. I was sorry I had only booked the one night.
Warm Atmosphere - Lovely Gardens
Noisey Street Traffic
Food was excellent Service was good Access was good for people with walking disabilities.
Phone in room did not work,so it was necessary to walk over to reception to order room service.
The building and the village
friendly staff, great breakfast, one night stop off as hotels in Aylesbury where fully booked so had a six mile drive in the morning to a meeting but the hotel made up for that inconvenience.
Fiddly shower mixer tap took a while to work out.
We loved everything. I had organised our stay and meal to celebrate my fiancé's birthday and spoil him during this particular busy period of study. Some us time away from the children too! We had the private snug to eat our meal. The food was exquisite and the staff were warm and friendly. The whole experience was fantastic. The cleanliness in the bedroom/bathroom was amazing, the tv did not overpower the bedroom and the bed was extremely comfortable. Definitely plan on staying at the Five Arrows Hotel again. Maybe for after our wedding :)
Room with real character and its own big balcony in a historic building Very friendly and most helpful staff everywhere Good double glazing Super breakfast Free pass to beautiful Waddesden Manor gardens Free parking
A41 road - but unless you're a light sleeper who has to have a window open not a problem! Really good sound insulation from double glazing
food great so close to the manor lots of parking. cosy get away would stay again anytime
rooms warm in summer
The restaurant was so welcoming, Staff excellent.
Noise from the busy road at night
A small hotel of character with delightful garden; friendly, efficient staff. Our dinner was very good & it was nice to have Eggs Benedict for breakfast We would like to return again on a day that Waddesdon Manor is open.
Nothing to dislike
Wonderful old building Delicious food
Located too close to the road, therefore a lot of traffic noise. The staff members do what they supposed to do and that's it. It's not a very warm welcome, but it's ok.. We expected more for this price though.
good staff very helpful. evening meal was excellent. THe manager went out of his way to ensure our stay was special after we complained about a shocking breakfast.
Road noise through the day and night was very heavy. book a room away from the front and side facing the road. on first day breakfast was terrible. Black Pudding burnt to a crisp, the one egg was hard, the rest aws tostedto a cinder. My wife didnt touch hers. We did complain and there after the hotel staff could not do enough for us, next day breakfast was very good and the evening meal was 1st class.
