The bed was very comfy and a great shower! Very friendly staff too!
The sofa bed was not the best but are they ever! Wifi was very poor in room however this is stated on the hotel description, maybe a wifi booster would help. Defiantly a must in all hotel rooms these days.
Price. Near Parents. Would stay again
Everything about the room was really Clean and comfortable.
Parking was difficult but it wasn't the hotels fault it's just in a tricky location

everything this was our second stay and we will be staying again this year food wicked as was the welcome like that there is different size breakfasts to choose as when we stayed before we found the breakfast to big steak and ale pie is wicked
The hotel and pub is excellently run very friendly hosts we were made to feel very welcome second stay and will certainly go back again
Very much liked the hosts. Very friendly and nothing to much trouble. Good parking for FREE and restaurant tastefully done. will go again soon I hope
I went on a Thursday and stayed 2 nights. Thursday night was fine but when I returned from my outing on Friday the bar was very busy and noisy. I was worried that sleeping would be a problem but all was under control and the noise stopped around 11.00pm so there was not a problem
Travelling cross channel from Dover, this Hotel is ideally situated for an overnight stay,or longer.Very helpful, friendly staff who couldn't be more accommodating.Freshly cooked evening meal of a very high standard as was the breakfast.Decor and furnishings to a very high standard, very comfortable bedroom with very nice fixtures+fittings.Cutlery worked perfectly,as did all condiments. We will have no hesitation in returning, and look forward to our next visit.PK
Staff very attentative
Parking on the roadside was a bit of a nightmare when returning late evening
Noisy until 1am,overpriced food,
Everything was lovely the people who owned it where very helpful we arrived late and they couldn't do enough they made us drinks and chatted for a while even though it was late great place will return
Only thing was the beds where not comfy that's all I feel awful saying really but honesty is the best policy
very friendly helpful staff. Good food at fair prices. Nice rooms very clean. Would look forward to staying here again. Will do in the near future.
parking a bit of a problem but quality of stay made up for this. Don't let this put you off.
Easily accommodated 6 of us, clean and fresh decoration. Excellent value for money.
Although the village is quiet, I found the road outside quite busy.
the room was nice comfortable bed modern shower room good food good helpful staff
the surrounding area is nice, with the church and old trees. The bathroom was warm and nice. The room was fine.
The sign at the door claimed that they opened 3pm but the staff didn't turn up until 40 minutes later. Another person had been waiting outside since 2pm. That's just not ok. The restaurant was a dark, not clean enough area. The hotel has potential but they need to work hard to regain the decreasing reputation. Turn off that TV and put on relaxing music.
Very friendly staff
Parking was a problem as we arrived in the early evening.
Clean tidy very comfortable - Very warm welcome from both managers. Ate in restaurant both nights. Food excellent and reasonable. We drunk in the bar 2 nights and had great time and banter with managers and locals. Real ale. Close to castles
Staff were friendly and welcoming. The suite was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. Food was fab too
Quite noisy as on a busy road. Annoying green light (probably to do with fire safety) in bedroom - kept me awake)
Location Comfortable Private
Rude owner - left waiting an hour and 20 minutes after verbally agreeing check in was altered to 14:00 then alleged I hadn't called as he claimed to be the only male on the premises Claimed emergency situation reason for delay but when initially contact was made there was no mention or initial apology, just 'well I'm here now' Other guests had to wait 20+ mins for some response Kitchen utensils were in a poor state - frying pan burnt and buckled base, dodgy handle No tea towels provided Lack of bins in bathrooms, bedroom and no bin liner in the kitchen bin!
It was very handy for us to catch morning ferry to france. very good value.
only down side was no on site parking but that would not stop us using the hotel again.
Location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable apartment
Bed mattress could be better
Overall we enjoyed the stay and would recommend the Five Bells to others. When visiting this area again we will stay here. Lovely food in the evening and a good filling breakfast available in the morning. All reasonably priced.
On a personal note we found the bed a little too firm for our liking. Unfortunately the bus service is not a good service in this area in the evening but that is no fault of the hotel.
Staff very friendly and over all a good night good food only problem to catch ferry we missed breakfast
