Parking could be an issue if the pub or restaurant were busy, as it's on road parking.

Really lovely apartment. Seperate bedroom, well equipt kitchen, big t.v, nice furnishing real home from home. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered 2 gorgeous pizzas, a larger and the best glass of Rose wine I have ever tasted. There was a few small negatives; The noise from the road was very load and constant. The bed is very creaky and you can also hear the guests upstairs bed creaking (and anything else they do). However, I would deffinatley book again. We are planning another road trip to France next summer and will be booking into the 5 bells again before we catch our early morning ferry. Sorry for spelling and grammer and writting this home bound on the m25. I would deffinatley stay there again

    Creaky beds and road noise.

An excellent hotel right on the outskirts of Deal perfect for those who like the peace and quiet of the countryside rather than the Town

Paying my bill on Departure rather than at Check in as I had to revise my travel plans.

Food was good, service was great.

The establishment is advertised as having parking, but this is not the case, we had to leave our car parked on the road, right by a busy junction. I felt this was misleading. We choose places to stay based on the availability of parking, so we will not choose the Five Bells again, purely on this basis.

Very friendly staff. Very comfortable rooms.

Rooms were very hot to sleep in - although it was also the hottest day of the year so hard to tell if the room was generally warm as well. Could perhaps include fans in the rooms if needed. Could use screens on the windows as there were a lot of spiders around and so didnt want to leave the window open all night.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The staff were exceptional and we felt like they treated us like family from the very minute we arrived. It was the perfect small town experience, one of the best we've had in England so far. They have done some really fantastic updating recently and the rooms are high quality. The town is adorable and we liked just walking through it. It's a great location for visiting Dover castle, much nicer than staying in dover itself. The place was a great value for the price. We would definitely go back and will be recommending it to any friends visiting the area.

Coming from New York and having visited other big and busy cities, we personally didn't mind sleeping with the noise from the pub below, but be prepared for it by bringing a white noise machine or ear plugs.
