Excellent situation and very warm welcome. Good restaurant and helpful advice about what to do around the town. Somewhere in the shower to put shampoo and other things would be welcome.

The Fleece has a beautiful location, right on Church Green and only a very short walk from the town centre. The room was spacious and clean with a spotless, large shower room (wet room really with all facilities for disabled). Room 4 (an annexe room) is in the yard and is opposite the smokers' area outside the bar and can be quite noisy, although to be fair, the hotel information warns you of this. The bar is a bit pricey. Although it is very nice, it is very much a public bar and is in no way exclusive.

The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The menu was varied and interesting, portions most generous. the room was generously sized and comfortable. our only problem was the heating system that decided to pack in across our landing, leavi ng us somewhat chilly. On the plus side we had a lovely comfy bed to climb into.

The whole experience was very good. Bed was specifically amazing, didn't want to leave it. Great sleep. No faults. A large shower head was great but supported inadequately on a regular pole which meant head moved downwards with water pressure.

A good size clean and cosy room with large bed plus the added bonus of tea/coffee making facilities, Staff were helpful and friendly. We were not aware that our room was located across the driveway from the main building and restaurant, as it rained and snowed for most of our stay this was not ideal. The hotel is badly in need of an update, our bathroom was horrendous with the shower door coming adrift each time we used it, and the tap on the basin all loose, the fan in the ceiling could not be switched on as completely out of arms reach therefore everything steamed up and took ages to clear. The choice of breakfast was good but when arrived which took for ever was over cooked.

the friendly welcome by staff who made us feel very much at home the food was excellent too. Our room had a high ceiling with small velux windows in the roof (with blinds) we found this rather claustraphobic without any other windows. But as we were staying for one night we thought it not worthy of asking for another room.

The staff were great, and it was a very lively, vibrant pub, in a great position in the town. We had 6 rooms, 3 very good and 3 not so good, with one having no windows except for high roof windows, there is no lounge area except for the pub seats.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good quality breakfast. Good reduction on usual rate. Varied food menu for lunch from snacks - soup and sandwiches - to cooked meals. Free Wi-fi. Sash window in room let some cold air in, but fortunately heating and bedding more than compensated so we were warm enough even on a sub-zero night. Toast and marmalade course missing from breakfast, but quite frankly there was enough to eat anyway.

The hotel was easily accessible with good parking. On arrival I was warmly welcomed by staff and the mood remained the same for the entire stay. My room had just been refurbished and had a new bathroom; the bed was amazing and the room had plenty of space. Dinner was a delight and id highly recomens the venison! The staff were very friendly and happy to engage into conversation offering local knowledge which was very helpful as I'm now moving to Oxford. They really went the extra mile when I was wasn't able to make breakfast due to timing; a generous breakfast pack was taken up to my room so that I didn't have to go without. I would highly recommend! Nothing

The atmosphere at the pub was very warm and welcoming and the evening menu was sufficiently varied. The food was tasty and the staff were pleasant. Didn't feel out of place as a single traveller on business. Was a good place to spend an evening after travelling and working all day. Would definitely stay again. As a single female probably would normally have preferred to be in the main building rather than in the annex as the front door was not shut and locked. For some reason I was not given bread with my evening food but all around were receiving it!! Probably didn't need it though...

Eight of us for my mother's 80th birthday. Staff very helpful, confirming best room for her and allocating a dog friendly room to us. Dinner very good, and staff happy to serve our homemade birthday cake. My mother was particularly impressed with the complimentary glass of sparkling wine the hotel gave her! Rooms could do with a bit of redecoration, window frames and walls needed reprinting.

Good location, nice pub and a comfortable bed. Shower in the room was old and in need of updating/cleaning. A smell of damp was apparent in the room and heating was poor.
