The hotel is in an excellent location, with fantastic views of the loch the staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfasts are of a good standard and choice. If you don't want to drive the bus stops right outside the hotel.
The hotel could do with a mini bar in the rooms or at least a fridge. The steps upto our cabin were very dark and a little dangerous.
I liked the relaxed friendly atmosphere
Other guests that complain about Any thing just to ge attention and a free meal
Decor of rooms, colour, style and finishing touches. Very unusual and interesting art throughout the hotel definite Tibetan theme Good quality extras - toiletries, tea and coffee, magazines and books, extra heater, if needed Very attentive staff Beautiful view up loch Interesting "mental man" piece of art stands in water off pier. Made up of hundreds of pieces of metal reflecting the light it is beautiful Lovely food All this added together is absorbed and you feel at peace with your time spent there
Have had a loch view before, this time even though we had a wonderful room, with a four poster bed, it had no view and slightly dark. Have to add though there was an array of lighting and this did not really bother us as we were out and about
Dogs in Dining Room
Fantastic views across the loch from the front of the hotel, just a few steps from the hotel.A lovely walk behind the hotel up past the hydro electric power station gave us some much needed exercise as we had been in a car most of the day. The hotel had a homely and relaxed feeling with helpful smiling staff. The breakfast was well cooked and delicious. The internet was accessible from in the bedroom. There wasn't any noise from outside great when we needed a good nights sleep
The view from the bedroom at the back of the hotel wasn't good we looked at a cabin on a hill side. The bedroom was long and narrow not much space for our luggage. The bathroom was cramped, I thought a smaller wash hand basin would have made it look bigger. Although it was basically clean, round the edges was ingrained dirt that hadn't been cleaned for a long time and really would have benifited from a deep clean.
Food Location Accomodation
The stunning views and a warm welcome from Andrew and the team is only the start of a lovely vacation for us..the food is first class and is our go-to choice...Love it
Leaving as per usual...
The location is excellent, very friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, easy access
Excellent view and two rooms.
Two lights not functioning, carpets were very dirty, mugs were cracked and half-filled wine glasses had not been emptied.
Excellent location Friendly amicable staff Good food
What's not to like?
the view from the chalet of loch earn is magnificent. the hotel has all the facilities.
the hotel is situated quite far inside and it take around an hour to reach highway. the chalets are located quite up the hill and were quite difficult to maneuver with compact car. the closet town is crieff which has a petrol pump and supermarket. the breakfast spread is very mediocre.
The Buddhist feel was calming and the location and nearby walks were absolutely stunning. The overall atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.
Booking.com offered us a free upgrade but the hotel had heard nothing about it. Even if it was booking.com's error the staff could have been friendlier about the mix-up. The restaurant had the formal pretensions one expects from a '38 quid for a boozeless set menu' in a loch side hotel. For all the 'demitasse of gazpacho' ing of the atmosphere, however, the food wasn't that great (saffron is not a sauce). The music - played too loud- was an initially funny but ultimately unappetising mix of b sides of 80's hits, jazz covers of b sides of 80's hits, and a very nice version of Ave Maria). The waitress was lovely, however. The pub food was much better.
The Beatles have stayed in these chalets. Old fashioned but plenty of space and magnificent views.
steps are steep, but these are old world charm
Warm welcome, fantastic views, excellent breakfast, homemade shortbread in room, comfy bed.
Long wait for food at dinner (in the bistro) and at breakfast. Overpriced dinner. Fusty chalet.
Friendliness of staff. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely view of Loch from window.
We were in one of the chalets, And so there was no wi fi in the chalets. Although it was comfy and clean, we thought the decor of the chalet was rather dated.
We thoroughly enjoyed our break at Four Seasons Hotel, we had everything we could need to make this stay special. Loved the peace and tranquil setting.
I couldn't book a 3rd night.
Away from the crowds. Good food. Ideal for walking.
Externally looked a little tired.
Very large room, nicely decorated, large bed, cleanliness. Loved the library in the hotel.
bathroom needs an uplift. Didn't like the fitted carpet on the bathroom floor - unhygienic.
The food. Didn't charge us for the room.We left after one night after we managed to find an alternative.
They said Booking.com had not booked, but it came out while we were there, they had double booked. The room we wanted was not available and we were offered the self-catering flat. It is in need of serious refurbishment, not done for at least 8 years. Chairs broken, table surface rough, very ancient electric fire, uncomfortable bed. Dusty surfaces, carpet covered in hairs. No loo roll. They did make some effort to rectify. Colour scheme awful. To get to it you had to go outside in a back alley up very steep concrete steps. View at the front okay, but the back not.
The hotel is beautifully located on the shore of the lake. We took a chalet, probably the best on the location. Photos on booling.com exaggerate the beauty of the chalet and the territory of the hotel: all is much easier. Wooden chalets are situated at the backyard of the main building, ie smells and the sounds from the kitchen go straight to the chalet, including ways to unload freight cars, as well as garbage. Inside, everything is rather dirty, towels are worn down. And it is The Four Seasons Hotel!! We have spent 3 nights in a chalet, in principle, we liked it. However, the restaurant kitchen is gorgeous, but the prices are too high! Breakfast is included in the room price: you can order porridge and hot dishes on the menu, fresh orange juice is presented on the buffet, there is yogurt, jams and pastries as well. Set of fruits is terrible: solid unripe kiwi and bananas! We had dinner a couple of times (book a table in advance). Everything was cooked delicious, however, the set of 2-course dinner costs £ 28, 3-course - £ 38. Dishes are rather small in comparison with the restaurants in the towns - it was really very expensive. But the hotel location is far from the towns, it is easier to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. There is also a bar with a good whiskey, however, anywhere in Scotland it is nice!))
Now the unpleasant: one morning fire alarm at our chalet was activated- the sound was unbearable! We, of course, did nothing contraindicated! Complained at the front desk when we went to the breakfast (they themselves did not come running on the alarm !!!) The master came fast, asked us and be suprised, took the system to charge it. The next morning the same !!! And important: when we checked-in, the credit card was not requested, ie nothing was blocked. However, when checking-out, paying the total bill for accommodation, restaurant and bar (about £ 500), an employee at the reception without notice for some reason carried out the operation twice! First £ 500 were charged and next £ 500 were blocked! Check on the bank's website, this lock is not shown, but the balance was suspiciously reduced! We called the bank in Moscow, spent 1,000 rubles, which told about this lock. Keep this in mind! In Scotland, it is a fairly common practice!
Excellent breakfast and very attentive staff. Very nice location and we had a superb room with a four-poster bed overlooking Loch Earn.
Lack of choice on the menu for our tastes. We did not use the upmarket restaurant as we thought the food was very pricey. We used the bistro as the prices were more realistic. However we thought the choice was a bit limited.
My husband and I stayed in one of the chaletsfor the end of our honeymoon and could not have been happier. Both the bistro and formal dining were delicious, staff was friendly, nice common areas to hang out in and you could not beat the view from our chalet. We also loved that it was dog friendly and wished our pup could have made the trip from the U.S. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Really enjoyed the breakfast and the food in the bistro - pumpkin ravioli and lemon brûlée were outstanding!
We stayed in chalet 2 and it was amazing. Such a beautiful view. Would deffo stay here again!!
The view andocation were beautiful. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was very good (the plates at dinner could be hotter). The coffee was poor - weak and a bit tasteless.
The bed was very hard and lumpy. The bathroom needed a face lift.
