The views from the sea-view rooms are incredible. The historic lift is also a brilliant period feature. Nothing, was quite happy.

I really appreciated the view from our hotel room. It was stunning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was very comfortable. The bathroom with the jacuzzi bath and power shower was great. Our evening meal on arrival was very good. All round we had a wonderful stay, and would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family. The only thing was that there was no Internet connection. Having said that the whole of Foye appeared to have no 3G. This did not spoil our stay, it just would have been nice keep in contact with our friends and family through media sites while we were away.

Reception staff very good . Location very good with great views . Good sized bedroom . Excellent food served in the restaurant . Wine prices in bar. Self service accompaniments at breakfast . Waiting staff more attentive when management about . Bar sandwiches unappealing due to lack of garnish .

The view from the bedroom window. The bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable. 'Free toiletries were sparse/inadequate, no shoe cleaning kit. Breakfast on the first morning was awful. Tea, coffee and toast were delivered to table - no jug of milk for the drinks until we asked. Marmalade and jam dish empty and not replenished despite a number of staff around. No hot water provided with tea. I think the hotel considers itself to be in the 'luxury' category - it has considerable work to do to elevate itself to this level.

The bar and the service in the bar and the food was very good. The view, the beds, tv, tea, access via outside stairs, cooked breakfast - all very good The lady in the reception - I had missed to book a parking space - and she lectured me in a not very friendly way that it was my own fault! - and the nowhere to get change for the £2,- charge - but I got some nice cards downtown, so it was solved. I would have liked a real coffe in the morning, but The Coffee machine was "not on".

Great views over the boat soaked Fowey Estuary and close to town with good pubs and restaurants. Fowey is boastful and rightly proud of its interesting past of which the hotel is ideally situated for an entertaining ,but relaxing stay. Typical of all hotels buried in the depths of beautiful Cornish villages, the lack of parking is restrictive. Be warned if you are not light of foot.

Location is amazing. Room was wonderfully appointed with all that one expects for the price we paid but it felt as though corners had been cut on the decor. Staff were friendly - with particular note going to the Reception staff who were charming. The food. The breakfast was mundane and not pushing the boat out that extra mile for a so-called high-end luxury hotel. We only had the Cooked Breakfast on one morning but it was greasy and the cooking oil tasted less than fresh. We ate supper only once in the Restaurant - on the Saturday night - which we expected would be the night they'd be most 'out to impress' - and we were wholly disappointed. It just wasn't good enough - and specially not for the price at £35 per head for a fixed price 3 course. I had a tastless, almost grey, tough pork dish. Never again! Given that we ate out on the other nights for a similar price at an incredibly higher return for our money - we would recommend people to stay at the Fowey Hotel - but don't eat at the Fowey Hotel! The q Restaurant at the Old Quay House Hotel at £37:50 for a three course dinner is about 150% better value! All in all - having familiarise ourselves with Fowey now, we would probably not stay at the Fowey Hotel again - despite it having the most perfect views over the estuary (providing you pay the hiked up price for a room with the view!) We realised with a wry smile that had we booked later and directly with the Hotel we might have secured a better deal and then might not have been so harsh in our judgement. The hotel were advertising double rooms from £85 a night with breakfast - well we paid twice that and finally it is all about value for money. At £85 a night our expectations would not have been so elevated!

The location is superb and the room we had very comfortable. The surcharge on credit card payments seems petty given the cost of staying at the hotel.

The superb staff - so polite and attentive. The food - absolutely delicious from breakfast through to evening dinner. The view from the rooms on the front of the hotel. Car-parking is always a bit of a concern.

The food was excellent and the rooms were good with excellent views of the river/sea. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The atmosphere in the hotel was somewhat more formal than we would ideally like.

A great place to relax and feel spoilt. Lovely food Parking was provided (booked) but can be a bit awkward with a big car . Fowey has very narrow streets, hills and sharp bends. . . my 4 by 4 was not ideal for this location!!

The views from the hotel are wonderful. The beds had blankets and bed covers not duvets, this made it uncomfortable to sleep. Parking is tight and it is a must to book a space.

The location overlooking the river and sea is stunning. The hotel is comfortable and traditional, the service is excellent and the food very good. Having the parking was a good thing but it's a bit hair-raising as it is a tight fit.

Fantastic Location and beautiful views. Lovely classic set up and features. Car parking is a NIGHTMARE. I thought that the hotel could offer some kind of car parking subsidy for guets who have to park at the public carpark for the night (very expensive).
