Location I booked at the Fowey Hotel because your website says that you a re 4 star rated however I disagree with that and feel you should be 3 star. Upon entering the hotel I noticed several cracked tiles on the floor, the hotel in general had a tired feel about it. When entering our room I was shocked at how small it was and how narrow the single beds were. The wardrobe was also very small for 2 people. The beds had brown blankets on!!!! No duvets....this is so old fashioned and quite uncomfortable. The pillows didn't fit the pillow cases! The windows were in a poor state, they need to be replaced or at least painted. The outside of the hotel looks generally run down and the parking spaces are absolutely tiny. I love Fowey and will visit again many times but I was very disappointed with your hotel and it spoilt part of my visit.

The staff were very friendly, imparting good local knowledge. The hotel had a lovely charmed ambience of times ago with lots of original features throughout. The location was excellent with restaurant and hotel bar having full view of estuary. I feel a little updating is needed in the rooms considering the price, installing ie. Flat screen TVs/cable, upto date radio alarm clocks also the decor a little 80s however the rooms were very clean.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good.I cannot comment about dinner as we ate in the town. The bedrooms are spacious and if you have a river view it is scenically very pretty. The town is only a short distance away and the location of the hotel makes the rest of Cornwall very excessible. We last visted this hotel the day England won the rugby world cup in October 2003 and very little has changed. The only disappointment for me was the decor and furnishings in the bar and lounge. They seem very dated and worn. I feel the chairs, sofas and carpets need updating. The dining room is fine. Also I am astounded that the hotel charges £10 a day to park in high season. I have never had to pay to park at a hotel before and will not do so again!

This was our second stay at the Fowey Hotel. Once again we experienced first class service and our room was extremely clean. The bar food is slightly expensive.

I cannot fault the Fowey Hotel. Staff were outstanding and hotel was very good value. Spectacular views from the dining area and lounges. Will definitely go back for a weekend stay. We did not eat dinner in the hotel as we found lovely restaurants in the little town so cannot comment on the dinner. However the breakfast, included in the rate, was very good.

The Fowey Hotel, is a wonderful place to stay from entering the door on the first day all your needs are catered for in a very friendly and profesional manner. We have now stayed at the Hotel for 3 years running and intend to rretun again next year. We love it The room we stayed in was looking a bit tired it could do with a spruce up and also some of the wall paper around the hotel needs a bit of paste to seal it back as it is peeling, please dont let a lovely hotel go to ruin for the lack of a bit of care

The Fowey Hotel is a beautifully restored hotel with awesome views, dining, and service. The rooms are luxurious and the food delicious. The staff is most helpful and curtious. The reserved parking is well marked for each individual guest.

We only stayed one night but were very impressed with the large comfortable room, nice large en-suite bathroom. The staff and the service they provided was excellent. Great location looking over the estuary. Parking is limited, so we parked at nearby public car park, but that wasn't a problem. For us, staying at a hotel as good and well run as the Fowey Hotel was a treat.

We immensely enjoyed our suite 102. The view and balcony, together with the room and facilities were unbeatable. The location of the hotel is excellent and we discovered that Fowey was the nicest town we visited in the area that offered the most attractive all round package. Ie: a nice swimming beach, castle ruins, a sheltered estuary for water sports, and of course a quaint little shopping and eating experience in the town itself. We stumbled upon The Fowey on the internet last minute and got a good rate and unexpected upgrade for a bit more. The woman on staff who suggested the upgrade (as we would have to move rooms half way through our stay in our original booking) is to be commended for solving our problem promptly and providing us with an affordable solution we were more than happy with. It was a lovely way to spend our 10th anniversary. We'll be back! Thank you

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in, in my lfe - and I have stayed in hundreds. The staff were lovely, the food was delicious and the rooms beautiful. I didn't want to leave. I only had a few days stay while my husband was working away. I'll bring him next time!

Love the location. Hated that the room had no air conditioning - had to borrow two fans as the room was very hot. No window in the bathroom made it worse.

Everything- Great view, great staff, great food, loved the lift Even though our room was downstairs we took a ride in the beautiful lift just for the hell of it!. Also great location While having dinner one eve - my birthday - we ordered a bottle of sparkling wine. As the restaurant mamager opened it the wine was very lively so it exploded all over the floor and the table next to us. About a quarter of a bottle lost. It would have been a nice gesture if we had been given a bit of a discount. No big deal but would have been nice.

This hotel is placed in a superb position high up over the estuary. The bedrooms are classic style, well furnished and very comfortable and the public rooms have great views. Staff are excellent as are the little touches such as fresh milk on demand from reception and cafetiere in the room. The vintage lift is an experience in itself. Don't go if you want modern with gym and pool, but for a relaxing laidback it break can't be bettered.

The positioning of the hotel - fab views The Hotel was in need of an update - seems to rely on its position and friendly staff - rooms tired and some areas could really do with a make over.
