The food and welcome were excellent at the Fox and Goose. An old pub that has charm and quality in abundance. It is rustic and old downstairs in the bar/restaurant area but fully modernised and beautiful upstairs in the accommodation. Our room was up there as one of the best we have stayed in. The breakfast was something else... totally unexpected and will be difficult to find elsewhere (you must try the bacon!!) 10/10 in all areas. Well done and thank you to all the staff for making our stay a memorable one. Leaving...

We agree with the other reviews! Friendly, welcoming, good food and beer in a pretty Exmoor village. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely modern en suite, lots of fluffy towels, robes and luxurious toiletries. A very relaxing stay which is what we needed. We're so pleased we found this, and will definitely return!

Great value. Best version of a typical country pub experience. Would love to come back frequently. Nothing.

location, perfect for our walking the personal touch good room and facilities excellent home made biscuits and flapjacks good locally sourced food great atmosphere fiendly, helpful staff the only thing we would have liked would have been an extra chair in the room (there is enough space) but it did not spoil a great weekend for us celebrating our birthdays

We liked everything from the very warm welcome to the excellent food, the Fox & Goose is in a perfect location for exploring the North Devon coastline & Exmoor. It also suited our traditional tastes & desire to 'get away from it all'. Though without being dated. Truly a lovely place to stay with great hosts.

For us it was the perfect country break experience. I can honestly say we've never received such a warm and friendly welcome as we did here. The room was beautiful with lots of special touches, the food absolutely delicious and our hosts and their team looked after us like we were family. Couldn't be faulted.

The accommodation was lovely-a big room with a comfortable bed and a very smart shower room. Breakfast was the best we have had anywhere (posh hotels included) and evening meals in the bar were of excellent quality and offered plenty of choice. Staff were charming and helpful, but never intrusive. All for a very reasonable price. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Parracombe is on the Barnstaple to Lynton bus service (bus stop just outside the pub) so the Fox and Goose is accessible even if you don't have a car. Bus also opens up a wider range of walking routes. Can't think of anything.

The room was well presented, clean, tidy and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, as were the pub meals in the evening. Good quality homemade food and friendly staff. A genuine country pub.

Very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent including a generous breakfast. Room was very clean with plenty of hot drinks available and cake and/or biscuits so forget the diet. The countryside around was special. Overall brilliant value for money. Lovely shower room but a bit chilly so could be cold in the winter.

Lovely room with very comfortable bed and gorgeous linens. The ensuite bathroom was large, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. ALSO WARM!!! After several stays at B&B's which offered no heat during a very chilly and wet period, it was such a treat to stay on such a cozy and warm room.

Living in Dubai and visiting for a wedding Nicola was helpful even before we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and this great couple who own the hotel went way beyond what one would expect from your hosts - even to collecting us from the remote reception location. Food - locally sourced and perfectly cooked. Not surprisingly, their staff did not let them down - friendly and again did their best to make you feel welcome. Our stay at The Fox and Goose made the 3 day break perfect. A hidden gem!

Best breakfast in England so far. The owners are superstars. Generous but not cloying like others that you can see that they are excessively nice so you will write a good review in booking.com . Generous to the point that we asked them where we can hire bikes and they lend us theirs. I insisted to pay. No way. They wouldn't let me pay. In the room, you could find fresh grounded coffee and a French press coffee maker, fresh milk, homemade flapjack and shortbread. Delicious. We had lunch and dinner in their pub. Good food. Reasonable prices, generous quantity. I sincerely wish the owners the best because they really do things well and deserve their business to go well. I highly recommend this hotel. If ownners are reading this, I thank them again for their generosity.
