The wide, tree-lined market place in Brackley, with its Georgian and Victorian houses and shops, is the delightful setting for this 13th century coaching inn.

Nestled between the Great Western Railway and the Oxford Canal, The Great Western Arms offers a bar and restaurant.
Score from 110 reviews Very good
This historic coaching inn dates back to before the English Civil War. Just 3 miles from Banbury, there is a traditional bar, a restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi overlooking the village green.
Score from 222 reviews Very good
This hotel is close to Oxford, adjacent to the A34 and just 5 minutes’ drive from junction 9 of the M40. Its attractive rural location is also convenient for Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds.

Staff ere very friendly & helpful. Room was luxurious. Evening meal included in deal & could be chosen from restaurant menu & was hearty & delicious. Breakfast was also excellent.
Lighting poor from car park to hotel entrance & to room from hotel.
I can definitely recommend booking a table in the restaurant, the food was delicious!
Comfortable, quiet room in the old stable block. As i rarely eat cooked breakfast, the breakfast in the basket in my room was ideal( perhaps would have preferred a decent croissant).Loved the real coffee and cafetiere. Very friendly staff in the restaurant.Good food and wine at reasonable prices.
The owners were lovely and very accommodating. Gorgeous little country pub in a lovely setting
Clean room, all the comforts necessary for a one night trip, very good value close to Oxford, excellent pub with very good food, excellent and personal service
Minor point, slightly thicker duvet would have been nice and be aware that you can't check into the room outside normal opening times for the venue
Good beer, excellent pub food, even on a Sunday evening, nice welcome, compact but comfortable room, away from traffic noise yet very convenient for Brackley/Silverstone
The location is very relaxing in a lovely village.it nice sitting out with a drink enjoying the garden .the food is excellant
Cant think of anything I didnt like.
Very friendly and helpful staff and the food was excellent. The bedroom is small but cosy and had lovely original exposed stonework.
Lack of a cooked breakfast. It wasn't a surprise but it would be great if this were offered.
good location, friendly staff, very well maintained
needs new pillows, a cooked breakfast would be good, but not vital.
Room was very nice and the pub has a warm and friendly atlmosphere.
Food, staff and accommodation and continental breakfast were fantastic! Will definitely book again.
Beer Food Breakfast was very good
Off the main road, very quiet!
No evening meal on Sunday, but they did provide excellent advice about alternative.
Very friendly, accommodating staff. Quirky room in a barn conversion.
They forgot to give us any cups on day 2 and I had to run to the pub in a huge downpour to get some!
Lovely staff delicious dinner
Really welcoming and friendly staff Pub had a great atmosphere and good food Lovely cosy room
Friendly proprietor and staff, good food and characterful rooms with en-suite
Sound insulation not great between bedrooms, towels not changed for second night
Excellent setting, Super room with all facilities, Friendly and helpful staff with good pub facilities and beer garden.
Not a matter of didn't like just a pity they were decorating the pub otherwise all marks would have been excellent.
Friendly staff. Excellent food. The 'breakfast hamper' arrangement is a good idea, and works well for anyone who needs to make an early start. Also means fresh milk available in the room for tea/coffee.
A bit more working space would have been useful, and better light for shaving by. Also, the noisy peacock who starts calling far too early in the morning.
Staff were very welcoming and accommodating
Small shelf in bathroom meant toiletries fell off in night!
location was good for the event we were attending
Room very small. Evidence of previous occupants in the toilet. Bathroom not clean.
A half hour away from Milton Keynes so perfect for an over night stay after a concert. Breakfast basket was lovely. The room was nicely furnished. The bedding lovely and clean. Friendly staff too :)
However, the toilet was dirty, the shower screen grubby, one of the coffee cups had a ring around it. The lamp shade was dusty with a couple dead flies in it. A stain on the wall where what looked like coffee had been knocked into it and quite lumpy pillows :(
A very comfortable place for an overnight stay. Our unit had large bathroom facilities which provided access for people with disabilities. Very yummy evening meal in the restaurant - staff were friendly and up for a chat as it was not a busy night.
The restaurant food and the staff was brilliant. It is located in a beautiful village and the hotel is well decorated.
The bathrooms in the bedroom was without a window and there was a strong smell of urine. Whether this was the drains or lack of ventilation im not sure.
