Beer Food Breakfast was very good
Off the main road, very quiet!
No evening meal on Sunday, but they did provide excellent advice about alternative.
Very friendly, accommodating staff. Quirky room in a barn conversion.
They forgot to give us any cups on day 2 and I had to run to the pub in a huge downpour to get some!
Lovely staff delicious dinner
Really welcoming and friendly staff Pub had a great atmosphere and good food Lovely cosy room
Friendly proprietor and staff, good food and characterful rooms with en-suite
Sound insulation not great between bedrooms, towels not changed for second night
Excellent setting, Super room with all facilities, Friendly and helpful staff with good pub facilities and beer garden.
Not a matter of didn't like just a pity they were decorating the pub otherwise all marks would have been excellent.
Friendly staff. Excellent food. The 'breakfast hamper' arrangement is a good idea, and works well for anyone who needs to make an early start. Also means fresh milk available in the room for tea/coffee.
A bit more working space would have been useful, and better light for shaving by. Also, the noisy peacock who starts calling far too early in the morning.
Staff were very welcoming and accommodating
Small shelf in bathroom meant toiletries fell off in night!
location was good for the event we were attending
Room very small. Evidence of previous occupants in the toilet. Bathroom not clean.
A half hour away from Milton Keynes so perfect for an over night stay after a concert. Breakfast basket was lovely. The room was nicely furnished. The bedding lovely and clean. Friendly staff too :)
However, the toilet was dirty, the shower screen grubby, one of the coffee cups had a ring around it. The lamp shade was dusty with a couple dead flies in it. A stain on the wall where what looked like coffee had been knocked into it and quite lumpy pillows :(
A very comfortable place for an overnight stay. Our unit had large bathroom facilities which provided access for people with disabilities. Very yummy evening meal in the restaurant - staff were friendly and up for a chat as it was not a busy night.
The restaurant food and the staff was brilliant. It is located in a beautiful village and the hotel is well decorated.
The bathrooms in the bedroom was without a window and there was a strong smell of urine. Whether this was the drains or lack of ventilation im not sure.
very friendly helpful staff, great food, ideal for what we needed
Good traditional English country pub/hotel
Great, friendly place. Liked the hamper style breakfast (delivered to the room the night before). Comfy room in an annexe across from the main building.
The wi-fi did not work in the room (though it worked in the bar).
Ease to where we wanted to be.
High price for no breakfast facilities except for a continental breakfast hamper placed in room previous night. Also told to pay for room night before as staff not on premises until 11am next morning. Dirty tea spoons for making a drink.
Parking was fine on arrival but could imagine it getting busy during pub food times. Breakfast hamper in the room on arrival was a good subsitue for the pub not being open mornings, and the pub it's self was handy for the evening meal.
Not the clearest where to go to check in and the first waitress I asked was a bit vauge also. Room could of done with a better clean, pretty thick dust hadn't been touched in a while which wasn't enhanced by the cobwebs. Bathroom would of been nice given a clean between patrons. But was all fine really when you consider the price (£70). Being woken at regular intervals from 05:55 onwards by janglings keys from staff using the store room next door was a bit annoying though.
Room were small for it price range. Continental breakfast delivered the night before. That mean having to had breakfast in room!! As there were two of us, no place to sit.
The staff were friendly at the bar/restaurant.
The shower didn't work, and there was no staff on site to approach in the morning. The breakfast was poor, and the coffee pot hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupant. There were noises all night because of what sounded like a water tank filling - again no staff could be approached.
Beautiful area. Would like to stay here again.
No cooked breakfast, would be nice to have a choice, loo seat was broken.
The food on offer was great
The bracket to hold the shower head was missing!
Not a lot
They put me in a room for a disabled person.the breakfast? Consisted of pastry with jam in the middle,2 banana,s. 2 orange, the kettle did not work. The room was small and dark.
location, bed, friendly staff and good restaurant. Excellent accessible wet room.
The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Lovely pub next door where we received an excellent welcome. Would defiantly recommend this place
