Score from 570 reviews Superb
Good atmosphere, very clean and tastefully decorated. Restaurant and food choice and quality very good and scenic location ideal for enjoying the moors. A good all round package.
There was really 'not to like' about the Fox and Hounds.
There were no strict rules. Plenty of space to park the car. A nice casual atmosphere and very friendly.
Loose toilet seat and large mirror in bedroom badly placed and the light from the window was behind you so you could not see very well to do your hair. Had to improvise.
The location of the Fox & Hounds was excellent with great views over the countryside both front and rear our room was very clean and comfortable and the decor fresh. The food and drink in the pub were superb and good value for money, the breakfast was excellent and set us up nicely for the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our stay was too short!!
Nice pub and lovely surroundings.
Noise leakage through some walls in bedrooms was a bit loud. But nothing else
Good Food , Quite reasonable choice of wines.
The view, the bar, the meals, the ambience
The location and the quaintness of the place. Nice and quiet
A bit pricey for what it is.
Nice location, friendly atmosphere, good sized room.
Very dated bathroom suite with moldy grout round the bath, wallpaper peeling off in room and walls looked very bumpy and needed re plastering, dinner was overpriced and just ok not great. Breakfast was a disappointment would have expected more than one rasher of bacon and more than one sausage and maybe beans. Asked for sausages and beans for my son rather than full breakfast and he was only given one sausage with beans. Asked if husband could exchange mushrooms and tomatoes for an extra sausage and the waitress agreed but then brought his breakfast without mushrooms and tomatoes but no extra sausage. The breakfast didn't taste great and was luke warm.
We stayed at the Fox and hounds as we were at a wedding at the nearby Danby castle. We were in the family room which was a large airy double aspect room. The staff were very friendly. the room was very clean and well appointed and the full English breakfast was great.
A bit off the beaten track for driving at night.
How organised it was, provision of keys tk get back in from the event. The whole visit was thoroughly enjoyable and breakfast was scrummy
Location, staff (very cheerful and accommodating), food (excellent), clean and a well stocked bar and wine cellar. Parking was easy too.
Room 6. We had to take the last room available and it was, shall we say, minimalist. There was very little space, the window looked onto a flat roof so no view and the en-suite had only a hand held shower with no curtain nor splash panel. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable however.
The whole experience from arrival to departure was exceedingly friendly and warm, enjoyed everything about the stay
Would have liked Sunday breakfast to have been available earlier, purely because it would have suited our personal timetable
Top class service ideal stay 3rd time been to this establishment will use again
No faults to complain about
Staff friendliness and willingness to meet all our requests.
Would have liked a more varied evening menu.
The room was spacious and bright. Good selection of teas and coffee plus a tea pot for making a good brew. Good quality linens and facilities including hair dryer and such. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Tasty breakfast with a decent choice. Couple of good hand pulls at the bar
Price was a little more than I'd usually pay for b n b bit you really get what you pay for :)
The location was very good and the breakfast was even better.
The food was excellent, so good we ate there every night. The staff were very helpful and polite. Would definately stay there again. 10 out of 10 for everything.
Warm ,friendly staff good service, good food and exceptional cooked Yorkshire Breakfast.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Attractive location. Meals were varied and good; quickly and efficiently served. The breakfast was of a very good standard but being an early riser I would have preferred it to start before 8-30am. Other than that it was a lovely place to stay.
Location is great, staff were friendly and helpful, rooms and facilities were clean and fresh and we really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely friendly atmosphere. Good food and helpful staff. Excellent walking straight from the door.
