Our whole experience at the Fox Inn was of very high quality. Wish we had booked for a longer period! We have already recommended this wonderful place to others and have suggested they stay for a longer time. Thank you

    Our stay was too short!

Peace and quiet, nice rooms, characterful, good food.

Wifi not available in rooms. There are two Anstys in Dorset. Find the one nearest Dorchester!

A great place in a secluded spot with lovely people. Great food & great company. Would have loved to stay forever.

There was nothing to dislike about this place.

Great staff, good home cooked food at very reasonable prices. Dogs welcome in the hotel & bar - even a jar of dog biscuits on the bar for them! Brilliant concept in this PC age! Highly recommended.

only drawback is that mobile reception in the area is poor & intermittent. Wifi reception also could do with being improved - little or no signal - brill if you are on Hols - not so good if out on business :(

The only thing that puts us off visiting again is the amount of flies in the breakfast room. Surely something can be done with this problem?

Great location, history and reasonably well modernised. The staff (with the absolute exception of Amy(?) behind the bar, who was excellent and attentive) were rather amateur and would benefit from a bit more training. I think they were short staffed the evening we were there. We really liked Stan (the regular at the bar) who deserves a free pint for helping to create a lovely country Dorset atmosphere.

The room, menus, decor were all a bit tired and the food was tasty but slightly lacking in imagination The fire door on the second floor was extremely noisy when anyone went in and out. I ticked "yes" to recommending, partly cos lots of others seemed to like it more than us and we may just have had an off night. I really meant "yes…but"

stunning scenery, very clean bedroom and bathroom, lovely homely feel, staff and management very welcoming, even the dogs seemed glad to see us, good breakfast with lovely homemade bread.Overall great value for money.

A little bit difficult to get to as sat nav and mobile phone reception a little bit unreliable but we were made aware of this beforehand. Personally I would prefer tea and coffee served in pots rather than just a cup, its nice to have a top-up.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Beautiful old building with plenty of character .

It was extremely hot and although there was a fan in the bedroom it was not sufficient. I think it must have been due to the very humid and hot day we arrived on so not the Inn's fault.

Lovely place although isolated. Pleasant comfy room lovely large bed. Very clean.

A little isolated for our needs as we were attending a party about 5 miles away. Coffee served by the cup at breakfast a pot would be nicer. A little expensive for what it is.

The ambience is excellent and the peace of the area. I have stayed here many times and have always received very good service

The fact that I am totally cut off from telephone connection in any form but that is not the fault of the hotel of course.

Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, and resteraunt food lovely.

Although the wifi was free only got service in the bar due to the thick walls of the building which was a little inconvenient.
