Beautiful room , comfortable bed . Gorgeous building in lovely location .
Hotel generally a bit hot and no air conditioning .. Big bathroom with great shower but no bath which I would have expected in a famy room.
Spacious well equipped comfortable room Very helpful staff Good food
The Florentine is possibly best known as a pub and restaurant. The rooms are upstairs. It is one of the few in Fulwood area and a very good choice for those who don´t want to stay in the city centre. Room is spacious, clean and quality of sleep is very good. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
One has to bear in mind the limitations of a B&B accommodation, for instance, no telephone nor small fridge in the room.
Room with bath at bottom of bed...amazing!
Food was poor on the day we visited on the Sunday menu.
Large spacious bedroom and even larger bed
- great location - great food - a very comfortable night's sleep - well looked after by an ex member of staff after the arson attack
- upon check-in noone attended to us for a good 15minutes despite staff milling about - not the fault of the staff or the hotel but disrupted night's sleep due to the arson attack
We had pizza on the Saturday evening which was delicious. We also had Sunday lunch which was lovely. But be hungry you get a lot!! Three of us ate, fish and chips, steak and a pork Sunday roast. None can be faulted! Will definitely return if we stay in sheffield again.
Unfortunately the plumbing cannot cope with a power shower and I had to turn the water off while shower for fear of flooding the bathroom. Other guests also complained of the same thing, so I know it wasn't just our room.
Close to where we wanted to be. I hope they can improve
Wine price significantly more than the menu price which is actually illegal but staff weren't bothered. "they must be old menus" Sink and shower didnt work properly in the room. No apology "the plumbing's like that because its an old building" I suspect the rooms will still be cold in winter due to inadequate heating
Quite nice place. Very large room, well appointed. Food in restaurant down stairs was wonderful.
Night stand lamps not set up for reading in bed at all. That could use some improvement.
Couldn't open the window, I stated I wanted a bath, so I told the manage and he said someone's in the room. Breakfast was rubbish it said when I booked you get a full english ended up with ham and cheese instead which was nice but would of perfured a full English won't be staying there again! Staff were very rude and unhelpful
Tea facilities in room, free wifi, lovely decor, fab food in restaurant, good breakfast - a very relaxing stay.
Loved how in our room it was cafetier coffee not packets of instant like most hotels. Restaurant and bar was comfortable and welcoming. Decor was tasteful yet unique, not the plain boring styles I normally come across.
The bed was a bit hard for my liking but a personal preference.
Location, decor, staff
Double bed quite small and hard
The room was clean and modern and looked recently refurbished. The staff were friendly. It would appear that refurbishment to rooms is ongoing. The car parking area is very good and very welcome after a long drive
The reception area is not well defined and not well staffed. The description of "breakfast included" on the booking website is misleading as it eventually turns out to be a continental breakfast which results in paying extra for a full breakfast. The continuous piped music was intrusive and seemed to be more for the benefit of the staff who appear to take their meals in the same area as customers which doesn't appear very professional On the whole the stay was good but a couple of points stand out. 1. Noisy bathroom fans. 2. Inconsistency of staff when dealing with queries
comfortable bed.very clean room. reception staff very nice.
no hand soap. lack of coat hangers. no telephone.night entrance poorly lit and difficult to open. breakfast poor. meals over priced .room very warm due to lack of ventillation making it hard to have a comfortable nights sleep
the room was comfortable, and quiet and the bar offered a good range of food and beers.
access to the bar from the room was slightly awkward, with many doors and narrow access eg when carrying bags.
arrived back at hotel 1 15 am not allowed in thr front door by staff. sent round rear of hotel to poor entrance at rear of pub. no good for solo females. cont breakfast poorly stocked min cereals just not wat youd expect for cost
Newly refurbished throughout with clean and well furnished room including usual complimentary items plus use of fluffy dressing gowns. Good sized TV with freeview channels.
Nothing in particular. Drinks prices were a bit high though.
We were upgraded - had a fabulous room with nice big bed and super shower room. Bed really comfy. Hospitality tray easily the nicest we've had in any hotel - freshly ground coffee in a small kilner jar - tea and sugar in a lovely stripey bag, yummy chocolate and a small bottle of still and one sparkling water - couldn't be bettered. Steaks in the restaurant were fantastic and bar prices reasonable. Breakfast was lovely - continental with tasty cheese and ham, good sized croissants (not the titchy things you get some places) and a lovely selection of bread.
Having to leave.
Windows didn't open, too hot and no air.
Nice sheets, towels, comfy big bed, good shower. Helpful staff. Good food
Liked it all. Good value
It was a lovely setting and a greate design top marks for the look. Staff where very helpful when we arived.
We did not like that for a shared four bed room it needed two pull out beds not just a sofa bed when you have a boy and girl it can be difficult. It said bed and breakfast but I didn't think much of the breakfast it was a continental, rock hard crossant, grey ham, worm milk and worm juice. I think they where trying to push you towards the paying cooked menu. Breakfast staff where note around you needed to go looking for them.
staff, bed, the pizzas!
noisy neighbours but not hotel's fault
Spacious rooms Good Bar selections and service Nice grounds and terraces car park Close to city centre and bus routes outside to town.
Rooms can be hot and stuffy in summer
Good, cosy comfy and good atmosphere in the pub
