Staff, accommodating cheerful and helpful. Room was as you would expect, clean and with the normal facilities. Wedding nights were lively.
Wi Fi in room was weak. Slightly out of village centre.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice, the bed was big and comfortable.
The breakfast was poor, the help yourself toast, cereals and fruit juice was great, but the hot food was terrible. Everything on the plate was under cooked. It seemed that the breakfast was rushed.
Staff very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.Food excellent.
Nothing to dislike. We enjoyed our relaxing stay.
The location was peaceful.
We had an amazing few says at the gables. Staff were amazing. Would recommend this hotel. Mr and mrs maguire x
Facilities are nice. Rooms are clean. Staff are friendly.
Weddings are constant and loud. Room had hotel sign lights outside which got through top of curtain. Contradicting information from one staff to another.
Good food at sensible prices
Poor selections at the bar
Spacious room. Lovely grounds.
No air-conditioning. Bar staff rude and behaved like silly schoolkids.
Great ribeye steak and served by a lovely smiling member of staff. Room was comfortable and bar and meal prices were reasonable for a hotel.
The staff were lovely and hotel very clean and easy location to access from M74. Pub prices at the bar with a lovely outside area was a bonus. Good breakfast served by good staff
Builders had failed to leave the hot water system working so there was not hot water in the morning. Acceptable mistake but no apology from management or offer of reduction on bill. Paid for shower or bath but unable to use.
This was our second visit. Somehow this visit did not turn out to be as good as the first. Ordered evening Bar meal at reception and at 8pm bar staff did not know anything about it. Apparently, according to bar staff, food should be ordered at the bar, but on arrival we were kind of hassled about ordering food there and then, because receptionist said they were very busy that day. However bar staff organised our food, and on inspection, the restaurant and bar were far far from being busy
The room, on this occasion, smelt very musty and stale. We did not complain because we were only there for the one night.
Good friendly staff, comfortable surroundings, good choice at breakfast.Evening meal menu good at reasonable price.
From our experience there was nothing to dislike.
Comfortable and clean room, tea/coffee facilities, TV, wifi, good breakfast Kind staff at the restaurant, specially Sarah
The way from the reception to the room was a truly labyrinth trough hundred corridors stairs up and down. Little noisy at nights as we could hear the guests in the next room every time they take a shower so I think the rooms are not properly isolated regrading noise Upon our arrival the receptionist, a brunette young girl, was correct but didn't give us a warm welcoming.
Extremely pleasant stay would highly recommend.
Rooms a tad warm but not enough to spoil stay
Food, the appearance of the inside and out, friendliness of staff, comfort.
Pillows too hard
An excellent hotel offering great value
Good food pleasant staff, nice friendly welcome
Excellent alacart dinner.
Poor breakfast half a peice black pudding and haggis a third of a potato scone and one rasher of bacon . Very disappointed as we were off on a long drive .
It was a birthday celebration and a great day it was especially with a lovely surprise of a bottle of champagne
Food is always excellent
They run the washing machines at night (A point they admitted when I complained I could hear a spin cycle at midnight! Hairs in sink...sink cracked Old bed...no firmness
cant fault the hotel first class would go again staff very friendly
everything was great if one thing to say maybe more choice on menu
The staff were excellent very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was clean, the facilities were ok. Very nice and enjoyable stay. Recommended.
My friends go married at The Gables October 2013. Wonderful hotel, very friendly staff, excellent dinner for the reception. I stayed in a room alone so only payed £65 for the night. Will return sometime.
Cooked breakfast was not too good.
Towels nice.Shortbread good. Bed comfy.
there is a stale smell in room 33 maybe it used to be a smokers room. The view from the window an old caravan, the shower wet the floor the carpet is grubby.
