breakfast stood a long time some items quite inedablen shame this let you down
Good accomodation, friendly staff and good food.
Still in middle of refurbishment. Look forward to seeing this hotel when completed. Our room was okay, it was clean but did need complete redecoration.
We enjoyed the peace and it was not noisy at night. The staff were very friendly and accomadating. We did return for another night on the return journey and were pleasantly surprised to be given a spacious room with a setee . We got value for money.
one of the rooms faced a brick wall. To try and compensate it would have been nice to have some hanging baskets with flowers to look out onto. Breakfast was ie fried eggs sitting in oil and mushrooms too greasy.
Room size Breakfast
Bar Restaurant Room needs decorating & improved maintenance
Nice friendly staff
A bit dated but new owners have big plans to update hotel
Location between england and scotland when travelling
All of the staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble :) Although the hotel is going through a refurbishment it did not detract from the welcoming feel and did in no way affect our stay :) Would definately stay here again
Close to outlet village
Breakfast was bit slow to be brought out at busy times and when more was brought out there was very little at each time. Our shower would not get hot so had to have baths. Did speak to reception but they were not very helpful
To say it was being referred , you couldn't,t tell , food was great , staff were helpful , very handy for shopping and Gretna .
Sat Nav took us round the back , you actually pass the front door as you arrive in Gretna
room quality, good no traffic noise, restaurant menu needs extending, food quality ok not great, located almost opposite outlet village
THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD
An old run down hotel that has been recently bought. Couldn't even use the bath it was such a mess. It made me feel sick. Staff apologised and said by next year it would be refurbished. I was so looking forward to the Japanese garden but they were grown over and wanted to make me cry.
rooms undergoing refurb
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, overall a good stay with friendly helpful staff
Toilet didn't flush properly and could have been a little cleaner around the cistern also the toilet seat was loose
The breakfast last you all day.
Whats not to like
Was close to the shopping centre and close for a walk for food etc
Old deco and furnishings
Easy to find and quick to get away in the morning
Shower was only a trickle and no hot water to shave in morning. No towels in room when we arrived. We were told they are going to upgrade decoration.
the rooms are so big and they are the comfiest beds in britain....and that includes lenny henrys choice!!
Nothing like the pictures, smelt funny, heating in our room stuck on in middle of summer.
THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY
THE PRIZE OF THE FOOD AND THE DRINKS IN THEIR MENU IT IS A QUITE EXPENSIVE AND THE PRIZE OF THEIR DRINK IN THE BAR IS DIFFERENT ON ITS PRIZE LIST
Very friendly staff Signs of the renovations going on which is always good to see
Need to improve the outside spaces with some more colour outside the room windows/ balcony
hotel very big and space out not much of atmosphere breakfast poor
The rooms were very big, but maybe abit to big. the reception staff were very helpful (Laura) was very helpful.
The breakfast was VERY greasy and I went down to breakfast at 10am one morning and there was hardly anything left to eat,so I just had toast and a yoghurt. I paid for breakfast so I would expect to be able to have a choice! The very young staff took along time to clear our dirty breakfast things away. They seem to just stand around not doing a lot. I had to approach them to ask for a pot of tea. The room wasn't that clean and there were a lot of dust and cobwebs.
great place to stay with friends
Stayed on way home from Scotland with two very small children and arrived very late at night. Arrived to very kind friendly staff and had a comfortable stay. Big breakfast was very yummy and staff were very friendly to the children. Good parking. Hotel has a long way to go since being taken over but could be lovely. I hope they make the most of it. Looking forward to going back to see what's changed! X
Dark low ceilings and corridors, in desperate need of some tasteful decoration. Hoping new owners modernise this.
