The food was lovely and the service was fantastic. Hotel surroundings are lovely. The rooms are a bit dated but we know they are going through renovations to upgrade the decor which wasn't an issue. Our room had a Jacuzzi bath which was relaxing after a long drive and a long shopping day.
great value for money nice clean hotel very friendly staff and the rooms were a great size
massive bedroom. nice and warm.
layout of the ground floor. breakfast was fine, but not everything was hot.
Very quiet while we were there. The staff were very helpful and friendly
staff were helpful easy to find very handy for the shops
dinner service at night was very slow breakfast was a bit of a mix up but very tasty and plenty of it we know it was in the process of being done up.
excellent food and comfy bed
Would like to see it after refurbishment is complete
Close to the motorway, but far enough not to have any noise issues. Hotel being refurbished. Should be good when finished soon
Good Breakfast Friendly Staff They acknowledge that its a bit tired decor wise and plan to upgrade
Bedding could do with an iron but very clean, it just gives a bad first impression when you walk in the room
Great breakfast staff very helpful and friendly
Loved everything about the hotel the only thing I would say was the bed and pillows weren't the greatest but still loved our stay, we were made to feel very welcome and at home! X
The potential of this hotel is enormous and I know that you are refurbishing. I would like to try again when the refurbishment has been completed. Maybe there will be deals on to entice us. We went to the local pub to get some atmosphere but not much better there.
Entrance and corridors cold. Dining room too near door. No atmosphere-music etc. Bar area wrong. No sufficient relaxation area couches. Sign post to hotel not good. Sat nav takes you to the adjacent street. We went to the Smiths hotel for a look the next day and wished we had booked and spent our money there.
good food and good service.Room was comfortable.
Would have liked a cosier bar area to relax in whilst having a drink
The twin room my friend and I had was very spacious boasting two double beds, a seating area and a dressing table. The staff were very informative and pleasant. I caught sight of the breakfast shift in the morning also who was very well presented.
I read on an information sheet that the hotel had recently changed hands and this was evident in some cosmetic aspects of the room. The walls, dresser and lampshades were marked in places but nothing a quick coat of paint wouldn't rectify. My mattress however, was rather stained and didn't have a mattress protector on top although the bedding itself was immaculate.I also noticed hairs stuck to the shower wall.
Friendly staff, clean room
Bathroom suite dated but clean
Uncomfortable bed . With bedding that didn't fit , slept most of the time on bare mattress. Shower was of low power and water not hot. Room very cold . TV control did not work had to ask for batteries. Have stayed a couple of times before and really enjoyed the stay but not this time .
The location, large room. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Natalie! Comfortable bed and chairs.
Being charged more than quoted by Booking.com
We liked the look of the hotel and when we entered it had a friendly atmosphere the staff were friendly. The bedroom we had was clean the bed comfortable, the shower room was a great size, I am disabled, and all my needs were covered
The hotel was well placed just off the motorway, staff were very friend, room was clean, food was good both at tea andbreakfast
Once the update work is done the hotel should be lovely, the open plan bar, restaurant, reception is a bit strange at mo
This hotel is currently undergoing some cosmetic updates, but even so we had a lovely ,spacious , clean room. The staff were really friendly and service was excellent. The breakfast was a real treat, a hot buffet that was delicious. A great stay and superb value for money.
I took my husband to the Garden Hotel for the weekend, we were both extremely delighted with the hotel even though it is going through as makeover, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant at all times. Can't wait to go back to see what the owners do with the improvements.
Absolutely nothing. It was a lovely break away.
The staff very helpfull nothing to much trouble Food very good the breakfast was enough to set you up all day. All freshly cooked the hotel is being refurbished but the staff explained all this and evan let us see rooms that are allmost ready when finnished the hotel will be a execelent addition to the group well worth a visit
the gardens need a tidy but this will happen in time
The setting. Convenience - Close to motorway. Ideal overnight stop for journey to Western Scotland. It has great potential, and proposed improvements are very promising
Entrance/Reception and Dining all in the same place. It's 'run down' feeling (understood) The food - little better than 'greasy cafe' standard. Too many doors to negotiate with luggage. Swing doors?.
Plenty of room, evening meals available, close to town centre.
Bathroom floor had some damage making toilet lean slightly.
great hotel perfect stop over
