Centrally located, good car parking facilities round the back, good bed, good breakfast
The hotel needs a makeover and a thorough spring clean. The bathroom was clean but needs updating. They should dispense with the quite grubby carpets going up the stairs and near the reception, improve the reception area and modernise the landing and bedrooms without taking away the charm of the house.More wood and clean fresh white paint would be a great improvement.
Location and gardens were excellent. Staff could not be faulted. Restaurant food and breakfast excellent.
Room was very "tired" and in need of up dating, especially the bathroom. Our room had an adjoining door to the next room (behind the wardrobe), could hear next doors TV clearly.
Facility to book in early Helpful staff On-line requests were actioned
Bathroom needs a make-over. Clean, but tired looking
Flexibility of staff Location Price Conservatory
Decor a hit dated Seemed a little understaffed in places
Big bedroom Good sized bathroom Storage in the room Free parking Location
Uncomfortable beds Breakfast not great - burnt toast/egg shell in scrambled eggs
The Staff...good parking nice garden.good breakfast.
Didn't like our room..4 poster bed !
Lovely hotel with helpful staff, situated perfectly for Stamford and Burleigh House. Secure parking and minutes walk from centre of town.
Good food, excellent bar with a very dignified malt selection. The gardens were a delight, so nice to see grapes on the vines.
Comfortable room Dog friendly Great breakfast

old fashioned bathroom and décor, lack of knowledge of local area of the staff, no wifi in our room (no. 4), although there was wifi in places in the hotel
Our room was comfortable, clean and cool which was good as it was a hot weekend. Tea and coffee making facilities were good. We enjoyed the breakfasts and service was good.
The bathroom needed a bit of a makeover. It was old-fashioned and had seen better days. The towel rail nearly came off the wall! That said, it was adequate and the towels were fluffy and white.
Old world charm, friendly staff; cracking breakfast.
The hotel is situated close to Stamford Waiting staff were friendly
I didn't like the following: - Dated and needs renovation - Smelly old carpet in the common areas that at the least needs steam cleaning - Uncomfortable bed which had a dip in it Mouldy shower/bath conversion with no shower pressure - Old rancid butter left out at breakfast which smelt terrible - Dated decor - Price. I have stayed in hostels that were cleaner and 1/4 of the price
Location, character of the Hotel, garden, breakfast
The room itself could have been nice but the decoration was awful, disquieting textiles, dated chipboard/MDF furniture and tired avocado bathroom.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. As requested a parking space was reserved for us. Thank you. Gardens were lovely but we could not use them. Breakfast, good range of food, cooked dishes were perfect.
There was a big party in hotel that took over all of the communal rooms and gardens & a very loud band played to midnight. We were unable to use gardens etc. Extremely unacceptable situation. We ate dinner, only people on a Saturday evening, behind closed doors because of the loud music and party hub hub. Dinner food was only average. Room 4. on garden level, noisy because of kids at party. Room also poorly ventilated and so we requested a fan which was delivered very quickly.
Lovely rooms, clean, not modern but beautifully presented, fabulous views, attentive staff that go the extra mile. Total value for money in the nicest locations in the UK. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Nothing, not often you can say that .............
Breakfast was good
Toilet was still dirty when arrived in room. All looked very tired.
Good size car park Comfortable bed Cooked breakfast was good Lovely gardens
Children's room had not been ventilated on a very hot day and it was therefore very uncomfortable for sleeping and no fans were available. Being on the high street a lot of road noise when window open
Poor nights sleep due to very uncomfortable bed room 17
The bed, sheets and covers were of high quality. The peacefulness of the very well kept up gardens. The breakfast was good.
Staff Building & situation Cleanliness Garden Car park
Room badly in need of makeover En-suite bathroom Small breakfast
Quiet bedroom overlooking enclosed rear garden. Location good for strolling round beautiful Stamford and for walking into Burghley Park.
First cooked breakfast. But chose smoked salmon and scrambled egg next day and that was excellent.
convenient location with good parking in an area where parking can be difficult.
bedroom decor was dark and looked a little tired. limited choice of fruit at breakfast but choice of cooked breakfast was good.
location. nice garden to relax in .good parking facilities.
very outdated décor. needs complete upgrade for todays standards.bathroom and plumbing standards poor overall not worth the rate paid. better choices in Stamford for similar rates.
Shower needed upgrading - it was too low even for an average sized person like me.
