Food was good quality & beds were comfy to ensure a good nights sleep.
The toilet handle was falling off & the sink had a big crack running through it. Decor needed updating & made lighter
If you only need one nights stay before crossing over to France this is the place to stay to begin your holiday. Ample car parking, lovely lively resaurant at reasonable prices.
Very quiet room; quite near the white cliffs
Small bathroom; shower didn't work
Location was excellent. Lovely meal in The Bay Restaurant. Very helpful staff.
A bit of noise until closing time after which we did sleep well.
Restaurant food very tasty and staff were friendly
Plumbing poor light fitting broken Dark room
Restaurant and Dinner was outstanding. Staff were very friendly. Location excellant for East Kent & channel port
Double bed was too small Room was quite small , walking around the bed resulted in hitting our legs on the sharp wooden corners . Shower was defective(discovered early morning). Totally unacceptable for a supposedly 3 *** hotel
Location Food Staff
No Air conditioning
Room a bit dated, esp bathroom
Nice atmosphere, good menu, really friendly staff
Bedroom had seen better days, car park a bit shabby
Very comfortable, clean rooms. As a solo traveller it was great to have a double bed instead of a single. The staff were always polite and helpful.
the bathroom very poor/ceiling peeling badly and terrible shower.the staff were unbelievably rude and everything was too much trouble for them with only a young girl and a young man named john the only ones who made an effort to help and smile
We paid for a standard double and got a family house for the same price
We couldn't access the wifi but wasn't a problem as we only stayed for 1 night
Loved the decor, very homely feel, really friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, although when I booked it came up saying breakfast, so was surprised that was a continental breakfast, which was very good, chose to pay extra for a full English, very good standard
It was quite noisy, (not great sound insulation) from other guests, children running around in rooms above and very early risers speaking very loudly. But it was so nice there that I would certainly love to stay there again.
The top attick room was nice for a big family , and nice and quite up there
In the attick one bath foot pedal was broken when I got in there the bath tilt and I bumped my head on the ceiling , and the water pressure was very low technology these days you could fit a pump
Lovely friendly and considerate staff. Pleasant room. Beautiful surroundings in a peaceful location. Wish we had stayed longer.
Genuinely warm welcome, Comfortable, homely atmosphere.Approachable, helpful staff. Delicious food.
All I can suggest is that the bread for toasting could have been of a higher quality - that's all!
Great receptionist.. We were very late booking in and he was very friendly. Last at breakfast not so friendly..
We missed a helping hand for our luggage as my husband is handicapped and we were travelling with our dog.
The price for the English breakfast is to much. The continental breakfast included is not worthwhile.
Location is near the White Cliffs & within easy reach of Deal & Dover. Hotel had character & was clean. Parking was no problem. The staff were pleasant.
Character often means old furniture - here it was old & very worn. Our room was quite noisy being over the bar & restaurant. No major gripes, but several niggling things like a very poor shower arrangement which shows a lack of attention to detail. Over priced.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. Room was small , clean, but a bit dated. Breakfast was quite nice. They were very helpful in getting us cabs/transportation. I wish we had time to walk down to a local beach. Good dining room for supper.
Not their fault, but the location was not good for activities or touring in Dover. Needed to take a cab everywhere with limited bus service on weekends.
An excellent regular stopover place on our way over the channel. Peaceful, pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff, good food, comfortable rooms - pretty much all you need.
Because it's a stopover place, the visit is always too brief (and we miss breakfast in order to get an early ferry).
The Hotel was a compltely random find and we would definitely stay again - really pleased to have discovered it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner and Breakfast was delicious. Our room was tastefully decorated and clean and we loved the Hotel Information File. Also loved the Ren Toiletries!!
The constant banging of doors during the night and noisy occupants of room upstairs - but it is an old building so I guess this comes with the territory Also the WiFi connection wasn't great. The bed was a bit hard - but that is a personal preference
