Nice clean comfortable room. Superb food.

Staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Lovely cooked breakfast!

We had a ground floor room overlooking the car park. We didn't feel secure leaving the window open at night and it affected our privacy (cars parked immediately outside). The evening meal - starters and desserts were lovely but we were both disappointed with the main course (beef 'special')

I liked the warm welcome especially the fire, complematary coffee/cake and the staff were positive and friendly. My room was clean and comfortable with nice touches such as the biscuits and cookery book which I later purchased. The food was excellent and the service good

There is nothing that I didn't like. When we visited it was on a Monday so the General Tarleton was very quiet therefore the attention we received was probably more than if it had been busy.

The food was definitely 5*.

For a 5* Hotel, although there was absolutely nothing wrong with the bedroom, it did not have the space and feel of 5* luxury bedroom.

Fantastic place to stay. Great welcome. Staff so friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious,spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The evening meal was exceptional ... 1st class and beautifully presented. Brilliant breakfast too. The GT is superb. I would highly recommended it. You will not be dissappointed.

The food was good, the service was excellent and the room was fine.

This was my fourth visit but no-one recognised that or acknowledged the fact.

Everything about the hotel spelt luxury! The only thing that I could fault it was the check out. The bill came to £150 when it was booked for £128. Lucky I had my booking confirmation with me from Booking.com!

Friendly and hospitable, very welcoming. Food was excellent.

One small critisism would be that the staff were not knowledgable about their good wine list. Some training required?

Very nice hotel with good restaurant. The cooked breakfast was excellent.

The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient without being intrusive. The welcome was great. The food was very good and not over priced. The bed was comfortable and the room really welcoming.

I travel extensively and so have a lot of comparisons - I cannot find anything about the Hotel that I didn't like.

Only the delivery man at 5.20am leaving his radio on and door open outside our room !!

A really nice place to stay with food that is absolutely fabulous The quality of food was 5 star and could not be bettered anywhere, including Michelin starred restaurants. Will definitely be going back again as soon as I can, and staying for longer. Can recommend The GT to anyone who likes good food, good service and nice surroundings

Stylishly furnished, outstanding food and friendly efficient service.

Exceptional. A fantastic hotel with a clear emphasis on customer service and quality. Best Breakfast I have had away from home in 7 months of staying in hotels. I ahve stayed in numerous hotels within a 15 mile radius of Ripon and this is by far the best so far.

Everything pretty much goumet, would consider a few more options on the evening bar menu to be a good addition

I thought the bedroom was ok but did not reflect the price paid. There was no air conditioning and only a small window making it a little stuffy. I would not recommend it as I think it is overpriced and the fact that we arrived at 2 and had just missed lunch and they could not provide us with any food was a big let down having just travelled 250 miles.

A good room if a little small. Homemade biscuits and fresh coffee on service tray were appreciated. Very friendly,helpful staff. Meals eaten in the restaurant were excellent. All in all a good place to stay.

I felt the room was too small to be classed as luxury. The carpet was stained so they need to address this issue. The corridor was very noisy with creaking floors and I could hear the adjoining room when they moved around.
