The General Tarleton's rooms are all individually decorated and well equipped with little extras to make your stay comfortable, including: tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, homemade biscuits and flat-screen TVs.
The beds are dressed with crisp white linen (either duvets or sheets and blankets), and there are large-size Molton Brown toiletries in the bathrooms.
The historic walled city of York with its famous narrow streets has more than enough to entertain you for a day, including: York Minster, the National Railway Museum, Castle Museum, Clifford’s Tower, Jorvik, The Shambles, shops, bars and restaurants. Take a cruise down the river or ride the York Wheel for a bird’s eye view of the city and countryside.
Ripon is the cathedral city of the Yorkshire Dales with a traditional market and a centuries-old tradition of blowing the horn each evening. Explore Ripon Cathedral, Market Square, Ripon Law and Order Museum and the Courthouse and Workhouse Museum as well as shops, cafes and pubs.
Harrogate is the antiques centre of the north and famous for the Stray Promenade and Valley Gardens. It has high street shops plus smart designer shops, various tea rooms and cafes including the nationally renowned Betty’s Cafe.
