Clean and friendly, nice to have a good restaurant and cocktail bar as part of the hotel.

We felt it would have been nice if there was a blanket on the bed! there was only a duvet and when relaxing on the bed, a blanket would have been nice to have.

Staff were excellent.

Good location for access into Cheltenham and on site parking. Good Bistro and Bar.

Building poorly maintained, room smelt of damp, pathetic shower which was supposed to be a feature and room not clean included dirty old sock in corner of room.

I took my wife to The George Hotel & Monty's for a birthday weekend. From the start our stay was a complete joy. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was well appointed, and breakfast at Monty's was absolutely outstanding!

It was pleasant, convenient location.

Over priced - nothing special

Made to feel very welcome upon arrival. Made sure we had a map and gave us useful information re a spa for the next day. Room had been upgraded to a large double. Very clean with nice views. Parking easy and free. Bought 2 x £25 vouchers for Chapel spa the next day - 3hr pass - well worth it - lovely and relaxing!

Beds are a tad hard and pillows need replacing. £16 for two glasses of wine in Monty's is a bit steep!

We ate sunday lunch in Montys and the food was excellent. Aswell as a sunday roast other dishes were available including fresh plaice, which was the most deliciously cooked I've ever tasted.

The bedroom was dissapointing. We opted for a superior double. It smelt of a vomit overpowered by 'shake and vac'. It was up several flights of steep stairs (no lift in hotel). I felt it was small for a superior double. The window overlooked the hotels refuse skips. It had a portable size tv. Worst of all was the pathetic shower - absolutely no water pressure at all!

It is well located for town centre activities and the Literary Festival.

The small double rooms are really too small for two people to use in comfort. The matress on the bed in our room was very uncomfortable. The room fails with a few basics like hooks for clothes and the wardrobe hangers fell off when an item of cllothing was placed on them. The breakfast room had numerous very pleasant staff but they were somewhat disorganised and seemed inexperienced. The breakfast is promoted as special however it overemphasised the cooked version and failed for those wanting a continental breakfast. Unfortunately the chef could not maintain standards as service was slow. The fruit salad had been forgotten on one morning and the museli was very poor. Overall the hotel seemed to lack the presence of a general manager that could ensure their claimed high standards were being maintained on the weekend we were there.

On site car parking. Within walking distance of everything. The food in the restaurant was good although pricey.

The breakfasts were disappointing - in that we had to ask for fruit. Porridge was not an option. The service was very slow because everyone appeared at the same time. The rooms were very compact but adequate.

Quality of staff, friendly atmosphere.

The standard rooms are small (but they do warn you and they are very well done) all others were booked.

the restaurant was exceptionally good, and we ended up having most of our meals there. There was nothing we could have hoped to be better

Deluxe room was spacious and well appointed. Excellent spacious bathroom with large shower area and large bath. Let down by small details. They leave you complimentary bottles of water in a fridge that doesn't work. A screw sticking out of the strip at the bathroom door is just careless. And they need to dust on top of the wardrobes. But they are small things. The room was great and good value for money. It can be a bit noisy at the front but that's true in most town centre hotels.

He hotel's location was great for shopping and restaurants. The parking was useful as we always look for hotels with free parking. The small double room we had booked into was very clean but unfortunately smelt of cigarette smoke. When I informed reception they were very apologetic and offered us the choice of 2 different rooms at no extra charge. One of them (the one we chose) was a superior double room with 6ft bed, big bathroom and private lounge. We thought the customer service was excellent.

Unfortunately Monty's restaurant was fully booked by the time we checked in and so we were unable to dine there that evening. But in fairness I should have tried to book it prior to our arrival.

Close to the shopping area. The restaurant was very good but a little expensive.

No quiet lounge to relax in. Very noisy when large groups came into the lounge to have coffee or drinks.

Big bed

- Tiny tv - Small room (very little space around the bed, making it annoying to try to walk around) - No speakers to play my music - No A/C (horrible when warm outside)

First I enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, the quality of the services. And last but not least the very good standard of our room (furniture, decoration). All in all a very ( short ) experience.

The front car park very convenient needs however some improvement. It is spoiling the quality / elegance of the building.
