central location Friendly staff Cheap Good breakfast Quiet
Friendliness of staff, location and v. Comfy rooms
This is a pub that by chance has some not so nice rooms that it can let out whitch are very tired & run down,
staff were friendly and helpful room (top floor) was spacious and quiet good beer and food in bar good car parking
The hotel was warm but individual room heating didn't work It seemed understaffed so that staff were not always available to speak contact
No shower gel or shampoo provided. Item of dirty clothing from previous occupant left in room
Large room and en-suite bathroom included bath and shower. Location above pub was convenient and several other pubs and restaurants in easy walking distance
Entry to/exit from guest rooms after hours was via an external fire exit - awkward with a suitcase and no fun in the rain although it's part enclosed.
I was not warned in advance that there would be a live DJ until 1am on the night I booked. I would not have booked had I known that as I was kept awake for hours.
excellent staff and good food
Staff Central location Own parking Great value
Be aware of the Friday disco - it's clearly on the website and staff let you know as well. It didn't affect my stay.
The helpfulness of the staff, eagerness to please and making guests eager to come back.
No disabled facilities.
Staff really really really good
service, and the breakfast are good!
the facilities are too old... the door of our room and the facet in the toilet work not well.
Location! Location! Location!Chepstow is a great place to visit.
Bathrooms outdated with noisy fan and water pipes but nevertheless the water was hot and the shower good. Car Park difficult to find, but locals suggested using the big public parking by the library- free evenings and on Sundays. Hot breakfast on Sunday not available till late.
Easy to find and near the station. |Simple accomodation.
Getting up in the morning.
Although we were expecting to pay for a full breakfast, they'd stopped that, and offered cereal, coffee and croissants for free, and the free brekkie was enough, and really quite good.
The room that we were in had the noisiest creakiest floorboards ever, so bad that it was quite funny, but the door had been forced at one time and not repaired properly, and the light fitting in the bathroom had been partially pulled off. The security door to the rooms, upstairs from the pub, was next to the entrance to the men's loos, and seemed like it had been pulled around a bit too. The staff were really friendly, though they had to do several jobs at once, but overall, the hotel was a bit disappointing.
Rooms above a pub with two bouncers on the door and a disco that went on until two.
We stayed a Saturday night in September . We were told when checking in it would be noisy until 2pm . Our room was on the top floor and even with the window open was like an oven. Only one window opened but we had to close it because of the noise. We complained the next day and was shown in the small print about it being noisy Friday & Saturday for which you pay extra . We were given £10 off but we would have preferred a good nights sleep.
good location free parking very cheap friendly staff good value pub food in the bar below
rooms have seen better days hot water didn't work breakfast though not early was not available basically a cheap bed for the night if you don''t mind just getting up and going.
Good location and once booked in friendly lady. Great breakfast. Price was ok
On arrival asked barman how to book in. He didnt know as he had only just started. He then walked away. Had to be called back and asked if he could find out. But the lady that booked us in was very pleasant indeed. Room door a bit dodgy, as explained by staff. Decor shabby.
Great size room and king size bed
The lock on the bedroom door was insecure
Chepstow is lively place down stairs var very nice
Room very dated carpet held together with tape curtaine rail hanging off the wall then on check out they tried to make us pay more than booking .com had quoted us even tho I had the email to show them
The location of the hotel being central is good, the staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was reasonably good value.
The hotel is used as a night club after normal closing time on Friday and Saturday with very loud music blaring out till 1.00am. This makes it impossible to hold a conversation. Whilst I do not object to the music, I do not believe it is necessary to have the music so loud. Not suitable for anyone who needs to get an early nights sleep!
Location in centre if Chepstow. Friendly staff on reception and behind the bar. In centre of town so just a walk to other pubs and restaurants.
Tired room and stairways. Over the bath shower where hot water was not powerful enough to afford a shower at head height. No shampoo or shower gel sachets available in room or at reception. No cooked breakfasts available (Booking.com) need to update hotel details.
very reasonable accomodation and food and drinks prices, also good selection, centrally located.
Shocked that would even take our booking..knowing that the rooms they gave us were over the impossible noise and that it was unsafe to even try and reach reception at midnight to collect our keys. Hoards of drunks in every direction. Disgusting.
