Straight forward no frills comfortable hotel, bar and restaurant.
No bad experience.
Freedom to do what we liked.
Friendly and clean
The room was very nice and clean and tidy
The attitude of the lady on Sunday morning serving breakfast but the other lady was very nice
The barmaid who gave me my money back.
The room was revolting, the drains stank and the room was very dirty with stained walls and ceiling.
The room could have done with a good clean, indeed with a refurbishment. But I don't complain because the important items were clean (bed, bathroom) and the price was very reasonable.
Comfortable room. Friendly and very helpful staff. Good value
Can be noisy until pub closing time.
Friendly welcome Pub Food & ale Comfortable room
Friendly staff & patrons Breakfast Great location to explore the country by car.
Floors were not clean, especially the bathroom.
The food was good value for money
The room was quite cold even after I turned the radiator up to maximum.
It was like sleeping in the car park - only noisier......! And no wifi as stated. Booked in for 3 nights but didn't even stay I night. It was too noisy to sleep.
My bed was warm and comfortable - I had a choice of three single beds but no floor space! Plenty of teas and coffee in the room and the owner of the pub was friendly despite a post Christmas and New Year cough.
Unfortunately the kitchen was not working due to a gas problem and I had to go out to eat - the main reason I chose the pub was that I could "eat in"! My room was above the bar and overlooked the road so was noisy. I asked if I could get one of the "outside" rooms another time and suspect (without looking at them) that they would be in better decorative order.
Noise from downstairs bar. Poor lighting in bedroom. No heating. Stained bed base. Noisy toilet. Less than helpful staff.
Well it was Boxing Day and my partner had booked us into this pub which looked brilliant until we got there , we walked in only to be told rudely pub was closed , then when we stated we were there to stay were shown to our room . There was a staff party going on downstairs and music was blasting until early hours , no facilities or bar was open to us , why take a £60 booking then ? No food , drink available on a Boxing Day , think customers should have been made aware of this , why else do people book into a pub over Christmas ?
noise from bar after closing time car doors slaming and people leaving in early hours. no breakfast on first moring of 2 day stay.
Staff were very friendly. Very relaxed and cosy environment. Arrived late in evening (20:15) and received a warm welcome, quickly checked into room then had a great bar meal with good beer. Wifi was very good strength in all areas (including room). Breakfast is very good value. Only stayed x1night but worked from bar area next morning until my online meetings were finished. Definitely stay again on my next visit to area
Clean room, nice hot shower, television good
Bed uncomfortable ,room noisy sound travelled up from busy bar, tinned tomato not fresh ones,
Even though its a pub, the accomadation was quiet
Chef in kitchen really helpful and accommodating compliment needs to be given to him.
Bedrooms unbearably hot could not alter heating even with opening windows. Member of female staff Saturday night was miserable and had no people skills whatsoever.
Pleasant pub atmosphere, safe parking, obliging staff
Food below average for a Village Pub
The bed was comfortable.
The shower was powerful. However the shower cubical is not fitted well and dirty with pooled standing water in it. The food is not good and served badly as the staff have not been trained properly.
Food and friendly staff
Badly needs redecorating. Dirty carpet and ripped shabby beds.no wardrobe in the room
quiet room even though very small. staff friendly. Excellent egg sandwiches
Breakfast only being served between 7 and 8 am . Obviously for business people during week. People on holiday do not want to have to get up so early!
Breakfast good Staff friendly
Being told, "we don't really do wine", when I asked for a bottle. Poor parking.
