Lovely room good restaurant
Nice old fashion, good dinner, good breakfast.
WI-FI have to register on external net with limitations.
The staff are friendly and helpful, I have stayed twice now and the service has been consistently good, The new area Manager Fraser Johnston is doing a good job and understands the importance of listening and responding to customer feedback. Excellent breakfasts also and my room had been redecorated since my last stay and was so much nicer. I will be staying again.
The staff very friendly, food was great! Rooms clean nice place.
The bed not very comfy and over priced if u not staying in a luxury room. Modern was the part we stayed and lacked character for an old building.
Helpful staff, good location, comfortable room. Would use again or recommend to others.
No bad experience
The staff were polite
Whatever i selected o nthe menu on a Friday/Saturday was not available. The place is extremely noisy until closing time which meant an early night was not an option A feature room is not having a spa bath When the music stopped all we coudl hear all night was running water.
The staff, the bar, the comfort of the bed.
The cooked breakfast was ok but could have been better
Service was once again excellent, the food outstanding and the overall ambiance brought me back and it was as good the second time as it was last year! I will no doubt be back again.
Food & staff . Good atmosphere
The knocking in the pipes in one of the walls at dead of night in room 12
Very helpful staff. Interesting old building. Good food.
Facilities a bit limited. Very small cramped car park. (I believe there is more parking a little distance away.)
Good breakfast and pleasant staff.
Only one pillow. Shelf and mirror missing from above sink. Knob fell off shower, bath marked and floor tiles cracked. This should not be a superior room.
The room was fabulous with an amazing four poster bed
Several things were disappointing. There were light bulbs not working in our room and when we told reception this wasn't rectified during our stay. Our dinner order was lost so we had a huge wait for our meal. Breakfast was luke warm as was the coffee. Items on the breakfast menu weren't available - vegetarian sausages and kippers.
The staff are very friendly and attentive, doing all they can to ensure a pleasant stay. The food is also excellent and good value.
A the hotel is due to be refurbished in the New Year which will raise the quality of the accomodation to the standard you would expect in this price range.
The evening meal was lovely ate at the brasserie, staff very friendly and helpful, lovely atmosphere in the building and the christmas decorations added to it
Breakfast had being left in the hot plate a bit too long, the full english was quite dried out, which was a shame because so much attention to detail in other areas of breakfast room
Bed. Breakfast. Friendly staff. Excellent location.
Shower over the bath still not up to standard since last visit. Shower curtain is too short.
Our bedroom radiators wouldnt work the whole time there which made the room really cold.
Excellent staff. Very helpful
If you like something modern, this hotel will not satisfy you.
Although I did not stay there myself I have it on good authority from the engineers who work for my company that the hotel was very comfortable & beautiful and the staff were excellent. So good in fact that I think I would like to treat myself to a stay there!
There was nothing that they didn't like!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was great. The room was a good size with everything you need.
Food, cleanliness, quirkiness. Staff exceptional. Pretty village.
Our bed was pretty uncomfortable, only downside, new mattresses needed I feel.
Central town location, good food , friendly reception staff, lovely old building, good breakfast options
The kitchen fan on until 11pm and again at 7.30am. This effect the newer part of the hotel.
Idiosyncratic hotel with many interesting features - not for those who like anonymous bedrooms! Food good particularly breakfast. We enjoyed the wine list. A good base for visiting Kent. Cranbrook v. pleasant
Bedroom 1 was next to an air conditioning unit which was quite noisy - it did turn off around 10.30pm. The secondary glazing was reasonably effective but a catch is broken so difficult to close the window
Hotel was clean, room in attic was amazing, staff very helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend to friends and definitely going to stay here again.
Excellent price quality relationship Very well located (heart of town) Cosy atmosphere Clean Large rooms Good beds Extremely friendly and helpful staff
The Food in the Brasserie was Excellent as was the Breakfast. Size of the Room. Clean Cotton Sheets. Friendly helpful Staff.
Bathroom needed a Deep Clean, mould and lime scale around bath & sink. Room Dusty. Noise late a night from Terrace and Car Park. Room could do with a small Fridge/Cooler
