Central town location, good food , friendly reception staff, lovely old building, good breakfast options
The kitchen fan on until 11pm and again at 7.30am. This effect the newer part of the hotel.
Idiosyncratic hotel with many interesting features - not for those who like anonymous bedrooms! Food good particularly breakfast. We enjoyed the wine list. A good base for visiting Kent. Cranbrook v. pleasant
Bedroom 1 was next to an air conditioning unit which was quite noisy - it did turn off around 10.30pm. The secondary glazing was reasonably effective but a catch is broken so difficult to close the window
Hotel was clean, room in attic was amazing, staff very helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend to friends and definitely going to stay here again.
Excellent price quality relationship Very well located (heart of town) Cosy atmosphere Clean Large rooms Good beds Extremely friendly and helpful staff
The Food in the Brasserie was Excellent as was the Breakfast. Size of the Room. Clean Cotton Sheets. Friendly helpful Staff.
Bathroom needed a Deep Clean, mould and lime scale around bath & sink. Room Dusty. Noise late a night from Terrace and Car Park. Room could do with a small Fridge/Cooler
Loved the food - superb chef. Loved the location, the beautiful building and the cleanliness. All the staff were so very helpful and friendly. We shall definitely make another booking.
Shower was iffy...the only complaint.
the character of the hotel, the staff was incredibly nice and the Mexican menu delicious! thank you.
very difficult to get the Wi-Fi working, in fact it never did!
staff are very friendly
Everything. We stayed there because we walked to Sissinghurst and did not have to go anywhere else for meals or drinks. Pub had a lively local feel to it, the staff were helpful and friendly and the food and wine were a high standard.
We stayed in the Crimson room and it was even better than the photos on the website. Gorgeous four poster which was very comfortable
Food, wine and motorcycle parking.
Wifi not good.
Good central location and great breakfast. Staff were really accommodating when we told them that we didn't have a good nights sleep due to road works outside they moved our room. The staff were also really accommodating for our special food needs.
At the time of our visit there was road works outside the hotel and it was very noisy. Would have liked a bit more choice on the evening menu.
Staff made us feel at home Location in centre of town Beautiful room with bath as well as shower Bottled water Excellent food
Scrambled eggs not fluffy enough!
The hotel is full of character. The staff were perfect, and the food was wonderful. Champagne and roses were arranged for us on our arrival. A brilliant stay.
Lively in the middle of the little market town Restaurant and pub on site Helpful staff from front desk to waiting staff
All rooms have a bath/shower, would be nice for some guests to have a walk in shower Rooms were warm and opening the windows for cool air was not in all rooms a good option
Period features. Comfortable bed. Touches of luxury in bedroom and bathroom. Excellent restaurant.
Our room had a noisy air extractor (from kitchens?) just outside the window.
Wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was superb
Food very good
Decor a little bit tired.
Friendly welcoming staff. Good food and ambience.
Breakfast . History.
Shower in bath was rickety
The staff were so friendly could not do enough to help you if you wanted anything. The room was lovely and would recommend to friends.
Toilet in main area bit grubby
Lots of places to near by.
Access was difficult due to Stone Street being closed. So had to come via South of village. When we could not find hotel , staff unable to direct us properly when we were within a few hundred yards
The history....we were in the room that Queen Elizabeth I used in the 16th century! A four poster bed and lots of atmosphere!
Very hard to get WiFi.....our smart phones were struggling although the Manager said there was WiFi in every room. Also, the lighting in our room was so dim we couldn't read!!
Great room and bathroom
Room noisy until after 11pm. Food ok but massive portions and overpriced for the quality. Mistake with the bill. They brought the wrong wine (but replaced it with good grace!)
