The George Hotel and Brasserie creates a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy first class cuisine. The hotel has developed an excellent reputation for dining in Kent and has won countrywide acclaim from industry experts. The hotel has been recognized for its culinary excellence with an AA rosette award and inclusion in The Good Food Guide 2008.

The hotel offers a modern English menu with dishes carefully selected by the head chef. These include vegetarian and children's options. The food is complimented by a carefully selected wine list.

Guests can eat in the hotel's dining room or in the vibrant atmosphere of the brasserie. The dining room has a 16th century inglenook fireplace and other beautiful, original features.. The brasserie is at the front of the hotel with a view of Stone Street, the vestry hall and St Dunstans Church.

All of the hotel's beautiful rooms are unique and individually designed, offering a unique choice of vintage luxury and opulence or sleek contemporary style and ultramodern design.

Amenities include large fluffy white towels, luxury Egyptian cotton sheets, large double beds and the latest flat-screen TVs with Sky satellite channels. Each room is also provided with complimentary mineral water.

The hotel has 2 feature rooms. Heather has a spa bathtub, and Crimson has a hand-carved four-poster bed and gold painted ceiling.

There are several rooms suitable for families, which can accommodate up to 2 extra beds. These rooms are available upon request.

The George Hotel & Brasserie is on Stone Street in the center of Cranbrook. Cranbrook is known as the capital of the Weald of Kent and is the hub of rural life in the area. The town offers a delightful retreat from the bustling city and is ideally located for staying in Kent and exploring the Kent and Sussex countryside and seaside. Along the main high street, visitors will find an array of gift, antique and specialist shops. Other places of interest include an art gallery, a farmers market, golf courses, vineyards, fisheries and Bentleys Fine Art Auctioneers.

Cranbrook is also ideally located for exploring the many attractions in the surrounding areas in Kent and Sussex, including Bodiam Castle, Chapel Down Vineyard, Scotney Castle Garden and Estate, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and Leeds Castle, Maidstone.

Travel information

By Train:
The nearest train station is Staplehurst and the hotel is approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the station. Staplehurst is on the Ashford International line and trains run regularly between Staplehurst train station and Charing Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo East.
By Car (from London and the M25 motorway):
- Exit the M25 at junction 3, following the signs on to the M20 motorway.
- Exit the M20 motorway at junction 6, following the signs towards Maidstone on to the A229.
- Continue on the A229 then follow signs to Cranbrook.
- The George Hotel and Brasserie is situated on the left of Stone Street, before the sharp left turn into the main high street.

By Car (from the A21):
- Exit the A21 at the junction signposted for Lamberhurst and Goudhurst.
- Follow signs to Goudhurst and continue on this road through the village.
- At the large roundabout take the 3rd exit, following the signs for the A229.
- Then follow the signs to Cranbrook.
- The George Hotel and Brasserie is situated on the left of Stone Street, before the sharp left turn into the main high street.

Parking:
Parking is available for guests’ use, free of charge. To locate the car park, follow the left-hand bend into the high street and turn left immediately into the narrow entrance.
