Brilliant location in heart of Bloomsbury near Brunswick Centre.
Unbearably hot. Bedside light not working..staff seemed uninterested and made no attempt to resolve the issue.
location breakfast price newly refurbished room lots of local eateries
We could wheel luggage to and from station. Good breakfast and restaurant staff. Easy walking distance of shops and restaurants.
In the basement we heard the underground until late. More hooks needed in shower room for towels, flannels and clothing.
The localisation is very convenient for KGX/SPX. Quiet area. Room very clean and nice bedding
No lift (3rd floor is approx 60steps). Breakfast is only as from 8am. Wifi only in reception area and poor signal
Great location. It's very convenient for King's Cross. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff is friendly.
No wifi in the room. The whole place is run down. It needs upgrading. If you travel with anything bigger than a medium sized bag or have trouble with stairs, this is not a place for you. My room was very stuffy but if I opened the window, noises from the street kept me awake.
En-suite wet room
Great location! Friendly staff, clean room, quiet area.
room location cleanliness good tv looked after our bags
towels not replaced no teabags on 2nd day bags looked after but not labelled
En suite - a wet room, large and modern and clean. V clean.
Stairs! V warm due to room size and roof top room.
Good location for Kings Cross and St Pancras Station. Room was refurbished and decorated to good standard.
No night porter - felt isolated for female late at night. Shower gel bottle with towels was only half full.
Newly decorated room, good wet room as en suite
No hair drier.
The hotel is undergoing an upgrade. Our room was very nice and comfortable BUT....
It was extremely hot and the air conditioning did not work. There was a fan which was not adequate for the heat. The buttons were there for the air con but believe it is still being installed.
Good location. Ten minutes from kings cross station. Lively area with bars, restaurants and parks. British museum and British library close by.
Initially shown to a room on the lower ground floor for three of us. Dark and dingy, needed light on at all times, bathroom very small and cramped. Totally unsuitable so moved after discussion with reception to a first floor room which was on the small side but much brighter. No help given with luggage which needed to be carried up and down stairs. Furniture very cheap and basic. Staff not unhelpful but little/no attempt to speak/smile unless direct contact made with them. Distinct lack of common courtesies such as good morning/afternoon/evening and no attempt to ask us if we had enjoyed our stay.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful The room was great (i had a front room overlooking park) and comfy bed and great shower, breakfast was also really nice.
The only complaint i could say is there are no lifts, which was very hard with a big bag and a bad back!
Staff very helpful
The bedroom window would not close. Very noisy at night. Room quite grubby looking breakfast ok for a fiver.
The basement room was very poor. Curtains were broken and net was filthy. The lock on the window was not secure. The bathroom was like a shoe box and flooded each time someone showered. The room was dark and depressing and we did not feel safe due to the horrible courtyard accessible from the street and useless window lock. The decor was dated the lamp broken and the whole look of the room was of a poor standard.
Location for rail and tubes. Quiet area in gardens. Lovely cafes bars nearby esp 49 cafe who did amazing coffee breakfasts and the largest take out salad boxes I have seen. Top floor room very quiet super sleep. Helpful staff and clean tidy hotel.
Lots of stairs to climb ok if fit and not much luggage. Room very small and hot.
Great location, friendly staff, clean room, what more can you ask for.
Pleasant and helpful front desk welcome Room 37 on the upper most floor was really charming and tastefully decorated Nice and quiet area 10 minutes walk from the British Museum Excellent Italian restaurant a block away Good (heavy for 75Yr old) English breackfast but a fun & young spirited granola alternative next door
The George Hotel is a comfortable place to stay in easy reach to central london. It was quiet, in a nice area with well decorated rooms that have been recently renovated. We had tea and coffee in the room as well as storage and a TV. We also opted for the breakfast which was efficient and very nice. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Staffs are so kind.
Thare are many stares, so when we moved our baggages, it was so hard work.
The staff go way beyond expectations to ensure that visitors feel comfortable and offer assistance at all times.
I really loved the fact that it was small and very "European" in nature. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better and I was able to walk everywhere or take a short walk to the Russell Square underground. The room was as advertised and had everything I needed.
I really did not dislike anything. The steep narrow stairs were a bit of a challenge, but I liked the fact that it was all very European. The room was very small, but, again, it served its purpose well and I was not there to watch TV, but to see the sights!
The quaint area of the George. was what we liked most..it's surrounded by cafe's and pubs. Walking distance to the tour buses and the underground. Large shopping area just minutes away.
no lifts to the rooms. Stairways are very steep and we had to take a 'shared' bath
