We had a very friendly welcome and felt at ease straight away. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay again. Water could do to be hotter in a morning.
Luke warm water in a morning for shower.
it was nice in the bar log fire and comfortable chairs breakfast was nice
even though there were 2 radiators and one heater in bedroom it was still cold and bathroom really cold the door to get in after 12.30am keyhole couldnt see it luckily I used my mobile phone as a torch
Can't agree more with the review from Darryl of Preston - Great place, friendly staff and regulars, good beer and food. Have stayed there several times now for both short and longer duration stays when up in the region on business - welcome place to return to at end of a busy day.
Only slight moan is that the in-room WIFI can be a bit hit and miss, but at least they provide it and its free!
Much quieter than you'd think for a room overlooking the main road and above a pub!
General decor of room
Well appointed large room and very good food to match with plenty of choice to suit all budgets. English breakfast cooked to order which is rare these days!
Good sized room. Friendly and welcoming staff. Lively atmosphere in bar/restaurant. Good value and well cooked food - excellent fish & chips.
Had an Evening Meal which was fine but we were particularly impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the staff.
We Are "Early Risers" and hot water switched on late for our purposes.
Lovely atmosphere very welcoming staff
Great Food and friendly service
Helpful staff Good pub environment Somewhere to lock up our bikes Breakfast very good
Pub food had too many vegetables that were of poor quality and not properly cooked.
Everything. The staff were very helpful especially when I arrived to find we had a double bed when two singles had been booked. The young lady sorted in no time. The evening meal was enjoyed by myself my colleague and guest. I would recomend this Hotel.
Booking re bed error whether by Booking.com or the hotel I do not know.
everything...had a great stay..friendly people, big deal for us...
Staff all very friendly especially owner Sarah. Nice atmosphere and good location
The atmosphere was great. the staff very helpful and the food excellent.
We did think it was a little over priced, we felt £70 would have been a litle more realistic
Very good experience, all staff were friendly and helpful, we ate there twice and the food was great (especially the Sunday carver). The room was spacious and the bed was very big and comfy.
Only (small) issue was that the shower, which has a thing to change it between the bath and shower didn't pull up fully, so water still came out of the taps.
Lovely place friendly staff and regulars Good beer food excellent
What's not to like
We could not get a meal before 5.30pm which meant we had to go across the road.
Friendly people, and a nice atmosphere. Good food, great beers.
Well located for most amenities, good breakfast, meals to a high standard landlady is very helpful (allowed us early access). Room is very clean and well arranged / decorated with lots of little extras that make the stay more pleasant.
Only one minor niggle - the heating goes off early evening leaving the room cold at night (we were there in December)
Friendly greeting. The room was warm on arrival. Evening meal and breakfast. Easy access to wi-fi.Ideal location.
The staff were very friendly and the landlord & landlady were very welcoming. Rooms were exceptionally clean & tidy. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Fully enjoyable stay.
The present owners took over the premises two years ago after running the pub opposite. They have spent a lot of time and effort in bringing it back to a high standard. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly.
