Located within the Exmoor National Park, The George Inn is a mile away from Wimbleball Lake and a variety of outdoor pursuits. With free private parking and fresh cooked breakfasts, the 16th Century property provides a traditional base from which to explore the region.

Rooms are en suite and feature a bright décor with views out onto fields and the small neighbouring church. Each room at the George Inn comes with a TV and complimentary toiletries.

The downstairs bar area is rustically decorated in dark woods, and guests can enjoy traditional British dishes and quality ales.

A 5-minute drive from Wimbleball Angling and Watersports Centre, guests will find many activities in the area to enjoy. The rugged coast of Somerset is just under 30 minutes’ drive away, with attractions such as Dunster Castle.

The village is 40 minutes’ drive from the M5, providing easy access to Bristol and also further south towards Cornwall.

The room was lovely and cosy and the view was beautiful. We had dinner in the pub and the food was delicious with good portions. The only complaint has nothing to do with the pub - everything to do with mobile phone companies - absolutely no signal from any of the major companies and yet the village is not in the middle of nowhere. The staff were friendly and welcoming and were happy to help when we needed an early breakfast. The food was home cooked and tasty, there was a choice of breakfast and good choice of menu for dinner. The room was comfortable and clean, had a good TV and tea making facilities, en-suite and plenty of towels. The hotel would be a good place to stay for a relaxing break away from it all and close to Exmoor. We were only there for one night, but would have loved to stay longer and will probably come back.
