Helpfull, polite staff. Loads of parking Good food (good value too) Comfy bed and great shower Nicely decorated

Room needed a good vacuum (bits of straw and fluff on carpet), tea coffee stains on furniture. Cheap tv. Door had to be locked/unlocked using key from the inside (not sure this meets fire regulations for quick exiting?!). Slow wifi, about 4mb/s.

The hotel .. and room decor. Staff did give a £45 refund but still ruined our stay.

Being right at the front on noisy traffic and punters . Couldn't have window open due to noise smell of fuel and cigarettes. Swearing shouting up until 12.45am. So we were uncomfortable hot. And kept awake. Also no parking so had to carry disabled son as rally on which we didn't know until we had booked. Couldn't eat when we arrived as no priority was given to staying guests. Was told to order a take away or go elsewhere to eat was offered a ploughman's. We had driven from baldock herts. !! Finally at 9 pm with 8yr old could eat but only buffet food. Which was poor. Such a shame. Breakfast was lovely but staff distant and cold. I would stay if another family room was located at back as front was mindless. Staff sat out front after shift drinking garage located right opposite to. And if no rally on.

The room, food, surrounding area, staff, everything was lovely. Fan in room which was a god send being 7 months pregnant, we even brought our own as a precaution but did not need it.

    We liked everything

Rooms were simple but stylish and spotlessly clean. Staff were a delight.

Fresh fruit at breakfast would have been a nice touch.

Decent position for our visit to Mere. Pub interior was well decorated and had a nice garden with the river running through it. Good beer.

Stayed on a warm evening in a front of house room. Traffic noise was very loud so had to keep double glazed windows closed thus making the room like an oven. Bed was hard and lumpy which also didn't help. Shower had mould on tile grout and all around the tray sealant. We had an evening meal which was entirely average! The 'famous' beef pie had dried out around the edges and appeared to have been sitting around ages. The wine was expensive for a pub. Overall not very impressed.

Staff were first class, warm welcoming and helpful. I would recommend to any family visiting.

It would be nice to see a better menu, with a little more choice. Like possibly a gammon steak, mash.

Staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. Accommodation was very comfortable.

Whilst it was a rural location our room no 9) overlooked the junction of two roads which was very noisy at times. To be fair the room did have double glazing which cut out most of the noise but unfortunately it was a very hot evening and we had to leave the window open.
