Good value for money for three nights stay. The room was nice and clean and always stocked up with biscuits. The shower was nice and spacious with good pressure. The breakfast and evening meals were of a good standard
The TV in my room didn't come with a DVD player as advertised. my room was on the front of the pub which got a bit loud with some people shouting at times after last orders in the evening when the pub was closing.
every thing was spot on 10 out of 10
Proximity to city centre Friendly staff Nearby parking Good food
The mattress in room 7 needs replacing
Great location in a quirky old building. A decent size room with beds that were comfortable.
Breakfast is what you expect from a pub both in terms of size (a lot) and choices (very limited), but it wasn't exciting.
The staff were very friendly and let me check-in several hours early. Room was very clean, warm and comfortable. Quiet overall though there is at times minor road noise. Would happily stay again.

Welcoming friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. Good dinner. Excellent breakfast.Opposite Portsmouth dockyard so excellent location. Hope to return and would recommend to friends and family.
Situated just 2 minutes from Dockyard and car park, just over 5 minutes from Gunwharf. Large, comfortable bed. Helpful staff.
My 3 day stay was to visit Historic Dockyard. The George is the nearest hotel to the main gate [which I didn't know when booking ] I went late November. This hotel is warm, clean, friendly, with helpful staff. Tv and tea facilities in fair sized rooms with excellent breakfast choices .Definitely value for money.
Excellent staff and service , good pub food at value prices on premises. Historic and port hotel atmosphere. 100 m to Historic Dockyard, parking, close to shops. Highly recommended.
Could here some bumps on roof from room above.
Great Location, 10min walk to town centre, Gun Wharf Quay and Historic Dockyard on the door step.
My room was ready despite being early. There was a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The bathroom had a generously sized bath (not just a shower) and a range of toiletries is provided. The part of the restaurant where breakfast is served is atmospheric wiith maritime prints. The breakfast menu offers a good choice and the excellent and delicious full english breakfast is freshly cooked. I have stayed before and look forward to doing so again!
