I loved the atmosphere which enabled me to relax after a stressful tiring day. Not keen on the bar area it just didn't feel welcoming. |

The room was clean and comfortable. The telephone was broken in the room, and there was a miserable view of a roof! |

The hotel was in a great location and whilst shopping we were able to pop back and offload bags. The only criticism I had was that there were two TV's on in the lounge and in the evening we called in for a drink but the football was on, on both TVs and so there was no where else to sit. Also Sky news during Breakfast. Not everyone wants to watch TV. |

Easy access to the train station, breakfast, comfortable room, let us leave our bags until check in time, informative staff. Could use a lift or "dumwaiter" to get bags up to room (we had 2 heavy large suitcases for a week trip to UK) |

Executive room was huge and the free gift was a nice touch. Breakfast included was a high standard as well. Close to the Oracle shopping centre, literally touching distance. Would recommend this hotel. There were problems with the fire alarm system during my stay that meant a sleepless night before an important meeting. The reception staff seemed slightly embarrassed by this but offered no discount which had i been footing the bill i would have insisted on. |

We were walking the Thames Path from the source of the river into London. This was a convenient stop over and was very good value for money with friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. |

It is very centrally located There must be far better out there! The hotel is very old and while creaky, sloped floors are quaint; this hotel is not at all charming. I was given a very stuffy room, the window of which could not be opened because of the noise from the street. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, with a very well worn, split level mattress! (it's also a pet peeve of mine when solo travellers are given cramped single rooms). It was impossible to achieve reasonable amount of hot water from the shower; temperature varied erratically between very hot and freezing. Breakfast was mediocre and poor value. One member of the reception team that I dealt with was competent, pleasant and helpful. The other member was rude and dismissive. |

Being partly in a building of the 16th century, the hotel has certainly character, but also some shortcomings. Its very central position makes it perfect for a visit of the city and for the shopping. Appears to be understaffed and the room for breakfast is too small for the number of possible guests. |

we were upgraded to a very large comfortable room, the staff were very helpful and friendly. location was amazing. there was no air-conditioning in the hotel. If you're staying during winter it would be great cos there are 3 heaters in the room, but during summer it is much too hot. The noise and fumes from outside added to the heat too. |

Very short one night stay, but being able to walk out and also to sit in the court yard was enjoyable. The hotel was old and great nothing to dislike. |

I stayed twice in that hotel, the 1st time was very good, the second time less good but staff is friendly. On my second stay, I got a very loud room by a high-traffic street, power went off unexpected at 11:30 p.m. for the whole night. There was a maintenance problem. The iron holster went off the wall as screws were not fixed. In brief, it was a very bad stay and they gave me a discount. |
