Television at a high level
Almost see through door to the toilet. Very uncomfortable bed .the water I feel should have been in a sealed bottle.
Large bed, big bath, huge shower and close to where I needed to be for work
Food in Restaurant was not particularly good - had pork - two very, very small pieces!
The facilities and service provided were perfect. Shop across the road, food, room service (breakfast in bed). The room was lovely and bathroom, especially the bath tub, was great.
1 issue for us. The room was freezing. We didnt notice the fan heater until the morning.
Facilities and service
Bathroom rather dark to see in mirror to shave
Nice little touches in the service (e.g. bedside chocolates on Christmas Eve) Friendly and helpful staff. Bathroom was spacious and comfortable When the pub was full, there was limited noise that travelled up to us
Limited room for suitcases. Only one bedside table meaning we had to rearrange furniture for this (and give space for suitcases) Wifi was poor in the room (particularly when the pub was full)
Charming staff and hotel. Good c0oked breakfast! Many amenities. Excellent shower.
Undulating floor in the bedroom! Could not work TV channels - stuck on channel 17.....
Have stayed here twice before in the popcorn and oyster rooms and always a good location and helpful staff. Very quiet in general for a good sleep.
Only problems were a heavily leaking window when it rained due to a rendering problem I suspect and the Cherry room is on a slope in all respects due to the buildings age and so glasses had a tendency to slide straight off and tip onto the floor. In general the decor is getting tired now and could do with a refit but we'd stay again.
Friendly and helpful staff
The noise from the bar
We have spent one night in a nice and comfy room because of a corporate christmas party organized at this Hotel. Nice staff, clean and tidy. Good breakfast. I would recommend.
During our very short stay we couldn't find any relevant negative aspect of this hotel. Probably the fact that the bar was not open till very late was the only really minor disappointment.
Friendliness of staff. Big room. Good atmosphere in hotel/bar generally.
Lighting in bathroom was poor - struggled to see what I was doing when putting make up on.
Cosy hotel I wish the real fire in the bar was burning away.
Didn't see steak on the menu. ?
Staff were exceptional food was delicious
Pillows were not the most comfortable room was quite cold
Lovely food, really nice staff and comfy room
Staff very friendly
Wifi same as all hotels does not work in bedrooms
Friendly and helpful staff.
Not too keen on bedroom decor!
large comfortable beds friendly helpful staff good location peaceful
intermittent NO hot water at all, especially on waking. Lobster room much too small window needs repairing/ dusty room noisy extractor outside window tired decor there is a bee nest outside window to lleft on lower roof
Very spacious comfortable room. Pleasant bar and dining environment. Very good breakfast. Nice location in centre of Shipston and also convenient for Stratford ie within 10 miles
Water system unable to cope adequately. Both shower and hot water tap failed to work a number of times because of (we were told) the number of guests wanting to use the facilities at any one time. Disappointing and inconvenient.
The staff were very welcoming and gave excellant customer service.
The hotel was very shabby and in need of redecorating new carpets and a good clean. The shower had no pressure and the tile grouting was mouldy. The floor in the bathroom was sticky.
Lack of wifi Moaning staff
Tail of two nights really . The food was very nice .. - burgers very good .. as was the lamb... Room was overlooking the High Street and on the top floor (36 i think) and it was quiet
A few things to note really. First night we booked our meal for 7.30 ish (having checked in at 4 ish) we got down and there was no reservation for us... But not a problem as we were fitted in the dining room.. Just over 2.5 hours later the two of us got the bill.. a crazy amount of time .. 1 hour for the mains to turn up . 25 mins for a desert menu - then the desert was wrong without explanation.. We duly complained and were given the deserts for free as a way of an apology.. The next night totally opposite.. Fast service and great food.. If only the first one was the same. Same went for the shower.. 2nd day.. no issues.. but the first night the hotter you wanted it (luke warm) the less the pressure until it stopped. Cold shower only.
staff were very hospitable and helpful . The restaurant was excellent value for money and we all enjoyed what we ordered
there was loud music on friday evening till late, and we were staying in a room above with children, and were not informed at the point of booking. There was also issues with the electricity, we lost it completely in the middle of the night
Good staff and very pleasant facilities central to the ton and nice outdoor seating area in warm weather
was a hot night and room was at the front and had some late and early street noise with the windows open
Breakfast was good, if you got everything you asked for. Room clean and tidy
Prices in the bar, lack of car parking should be for customers not staff.
Quirky nature of place and friendliness of staff. Free car park and central location. More than enough food on plates for breakfast but:-
Unfortunately the food had been cooked for some time before being served,so what promised to be a feast was actually a disappointment.
Staff friendly room good size
No parking very busy staff over run restaurant waiting nearly 1 hour although we were told scaffolding right outside our window hot could not open window, broken
