large comfortable beds friendly helpful staff good location peaceful
intermittent NO hot water at all, especially on waking. Lobster room much too small window needs repairing/ dusty room noisy extractor outside window tired decor there is a bee nest outside window to lleft on lower roof
Very spacious comfortable room. Pleasant bar and dining environment. Very good breakfast. Nice location in centre of Shipston and also convenient for Stratford ie within 10 miles
Water system unable to cope adequately. Both shower and hot water tap failed to work a number of times because of (we were told) the number of guests wanting to use the facilities at any one time. Disappointing and inconvenient.
The staff were very welcoming and gave excellant customer service.
The hotel was very shabby and in need of redecorating new carpets and a good clean. The shower had no pressure and the tile grouting was mouldy. The floor in the bathroom was sticky.
Lack of wifi Moaning staff
Tail of two nights really . The food was very nice .. - burgers very good .. as was the lamb... Room was overlooking the High Street and on the top floor (36 i think) and it was quiet
A few things to note really. First night we booked our meal for 7.30 ish (having checked in at 4 ish) we got down and there was no reservation for us... But not a problem as we were fitted in the dining room.. Just over 2.5 hours later the two of us got the bill.. a crazy amount of time .. 1 hour for the mains to turn up . 25 mins for a desert menu - then the desert was wrong without explanation.. We duly complained and were given the deserts for free as a way of an apology.. The next night totally opposite.. Fast service and great food.. If only the first one was the same. Same went for the shower.. 2nd day.. no issues.. but the first night the hotter you wanted it (luke warm) the less the pressure until it stopped. Cold shower only.
staff were very hospitable and helpful . The restaurant was excellent value for money and we all enjoyed what we ordered
there was loud music on friday evening till late, and we were staying in a room above with children, and were not informed at the point of booking. There was also issues with the electricity, we lost it completely in the middle of the night
Good staff and very pleasant facilities central to the ton and nice outdoor seating area in warm weather
was a hot night and room was at the front and had some late and early street noise with the windows open
Breakfast was good, if you got everything you asked for. Room clean and tidy
Prices in the bar, lack of car parking should be for customers not staff.
Quirky nature of place and friendliness of staff. Free car park and central location. More than enough food on plates for breakfast but:-
Unfortunately the food had been cooked for some time before being served,so what promised to be a feast was actually a disappointment.
Staff friendly room good size
No parking very busy staff over run restaurant waiting nearly 1 hour although we were told scaffolding right outside our window hot could not open window, broken
Location, good breakfast good duvet.
No lift to 3rd floor. 2 for 1 pizza salad offer. Pizza and salad were pretty bad irrelevant of the price.
The large comfortable room and bathroom. Easy parking. Good restaurant.
Couldn't access to wifi in the hotel . No staff in reception all the time. Big noise in late night. Not worth this money.
Good central location
Good bed, room fine
poor tv reception, very warm in room, kitchen extraction noisy just out side window. position of wash basin very difficult to use
Helpful check in staff. Room had everything needed.
Bed linen - large holes along seams of both quilt & pillow covers Breakfast - we attempted but continental had run out, we were ignored by waiting staff & everyone around us was complaining about wait for cooked items. There wasn't even any coffee available.
Very helpful, friendly staff. Room was huge and comfortable. Breakfast very good, delicious fruit salad and cooked breakfast.Would stay again.
Excellent food, pleasant staff, quiet room with plenty of space
Shipston not the easiest place to find, poorish parking
very nice breakfast , staff very friendly .
Restaurant & Bar Staff were excellent. Hotel permits pets although website says no pets.
Ground floor bedroom not available although requested when booking and we were not advised till checking in. This was a problem as one of our party was 99 and struggles with stairs. One of our party's main course dinner (Fish & chips) was very poor. Fish undercooked (watery and raw) when sent back was informed by the chef that it had been cooked to the correct temperature and was OK. Apart from the batter it was uneatable and had to be left. Chef not concerned! Bedroom (Popcorn) very hot; no ventilation in bedroom; sash window broken and had to be jammed open at bottom, even during torrential rain storm.
Nice bar and restaurant made very welcome. Breakfast was lovely. We would go again but I would ask for a different room. . Manager was brilliant happy amd helpful. And im sure wud of moved us if she had an alternative.
We were in an outside room. . Not informed of this on booking. No Internet wifi access. In our outside room. We were right by outside tables and chairs which was a bit noisy at times. Needs a little consideration on letting customers know they wont be in main building.
The staff were excellent, food was outstanding
Friendly staff, nice bar and lovely breakfast. Also a minor problem (see over) gave us a reduced bill. From what we saw, best place to stay in Shipston.
Leak from one of the windows in chilli room as it rained, was a bit like Chinese water torture keeping us awake for 2 hours. However when mentioned following morning we were assured it would be fixed.
The hotel had a nice ambiance and the staff, friendly and attentive.
Lacked attention to detail in terms of cleanliness. Whilst our friends appeared to have comfortable beds, ours was old, rickety and very uncomfortable mattress, leading to a poor nights sleep for my wife and I in strawberry.
Nice atmosphere, well decorated rooms, good food.
13.5 tog duvet way too heavy for mid May temperatures!!
