The rooms and hotel was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was in a convenient location. The food was of a pretty bad standard. The noise from surrounding pubs was apalling. I moved rooms at midnight due to the noise. When I asked for a discount in the morning, for the inconvenience suffered and the late night, I was told that I could not have one as they now had two rooms to clean! After arguing with them I managed to get £14 off. It left a very bad impression. |

It was relaxed and as I said in the box above everyone was so friendly, courteous and very smart. Not a thing, Oh yes, your directions say"Go along Swan Road ...." but they do not say how to find Swan Road if like me it has been 63 years since I was in Lichfield, not a big point, put it down to my old age.Stan. Assuming this is about the George Hotel, Hathersage, the stay was brilliant, and the food was exquisite. If this is about the George Hotel, Litchfield, then it should be flattened, and made into a car park! Nothing about the George in Hathersage should be changed. Everything about the George in Litchfield should change, re the above answer! |

I liked its position close to the town centre. The bedroom was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thev cooked breakfast was of good quality. The decor is dull and rather dark -needs a revamp! The breakfast would be improved by provision of fresh fruit. |

We attended a Regency Ball in the George Hotel's beautiful ballroom. The buffet supper served at the event was delicious. The staff were welcoming and it was altogether a most enjoyable evening. The bedroom windows are sealed and there is no way of letting in fresh air. The beds have thick duvets which give no way of varying one's covering. On a warm night it's all or nothing. We wanted a meal after 8.45 one evening and when it eventually arrived, it was very poor and took about 40 minutes to come. (fish with very thick batter)and chips. |

Convenience with the majority of travellers needs available within the hotel complex. Quiet with little or no traffic noise. Simple on-line booking. I did not stay long enough to note anything I did not like |

It was convenient for both the Cathedral and shops. It was also a short car ride away from Tamworth and Channock Chase both which we wanted to visit. |

A good comfortable traditional city centre hotel, well positioned for a visit to the historic city and cathedral of Lichfield. |
