Excellent location, comfy bed, nice quiet room, all nice and clean.
Bathroom needs complete makeover. Room needs redecorating. Only a continental breakfast rather than the full works. A bit pricey for what you get.
Very helpful staff
Rooms were grubby and in need of decorating
The TV was ok
Parking was not guaranteed;rooms were of a poor standard;breakfast was a joke;noise from the street because of old windows which would not close and drunken night clubers from across the street-every night.
Sloppy housekeeping and generally you felt uncomfortable with the place. It appeared that one person did everything, and seemed inexperienced in the hospitality business. It has been apparently under new management the last 6 months. Would not go back or recommend the place.
The place is horrible. It is the most horrible place I have ever been too. It is dirty. The service is unbelivable. The reception is only open for a few hours and the made you feel you owe them something. No towels.
Cheap an handy to the University.
No servicing of the room, no bed made, no fresh towels daily, mugs weren't washed or replaced in 3 days. Was told breakfast was off at 9am when the signage said 9:30.
Brain was very good he a happy face to see & very helpful
I think it not worth the £89 don't forget they charge xtrar if you pay by card, you think it would be a cooked breakfast but it's not
Whilst this was not a bargain price, it was in comparison to other hotels on my required date. It was clean and adequate as a place to sleep on a girls night out. Staff member was polite, friendly and tried to be helpful.
Basic accommodation which lacked as much as a bar if soap. Check in is very set times and door did not get answered out with. When we returned at correct time (4pm) we had quite a wait before door was answered due to one staff member doing his very best to see to everyone and lots of jobs at once (not his fault). On leaving , female member did not acknowledge us never mind ask if we enjoyed our stay. Did not bother with breakfast as that to was only at a restricted time.
Staff were very friendly
no soap in the rooms. ground floor was noisy at night
Brian helped us in ways that went beyond his duties. Really appreciate his help!
Only member of staff was Brian. He was very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble. However because he did everything the hotel was alittle lackluster. I think the owner needs to get a grip!
Noisey pipes. Car park needs attention. Lack of staff. Lack of cooked breakfast. Brian did his best but umfortunately he has no support from the disinterested owners!!!
the location was good for the Subway, restaurants and parks. We also needed advice about transport for the Sunday and they were very helpful.
The bedroom needed decorating and there was some noise from the main road next to the hotel, the headboard on the bed was broken.
I had a restful stay. I was very tired and worried about noise but I never as there were extra shutters on the windows.
Pillows need to be freshened, they had a smell- pillow cases were clean though.
It's basic, clean and simple, great location and very friendly staff
view of Botanic Gardens Waitrose 1 min walk plenty of hot water and heating when needed room attended + clean towels and bed linen every day airy, spacious and light free car park comfortable mattress friendly staff
internet access password not working pothole in car park shower hose leaky no plug for bath fridge moldy found defrosted moldy ice-cream in freezer
I was appalled to be charged £200 per night - I know it was down to the fact that the Commonwealth Games were taking place but as parents whose only reason for being in Glasgow was to watch our son compete, £800 for 4 nights with continental breakfast is ridiculous but I know all hotels upped their prices 4 times as I spoke to other parents
The cost for the non facilities.
Insufficient parking on site or elsewhere. Loose gravel around sloping car park causing both of us to fall in separate incidents. Poor attitude of Mark to address this risk.
Location was great.
No-one to check us in despite calling in advance as requested with arrival time. WiFi did not work. Breakfast was sparse, no cutlery or crockery! Had to wash our own up. Bed was rickety with stains on mattress. Tiles coming off the wall in the shower.
Rooms were clean enough, and yes, there was tea and coffee and reasonably comfy beds. That was pretty much it though.
When we arrived, other guests were on the doorstep calling a mobile number left stuck to the door to be let in, and had been there for twenty minutes. nobody answered or came. The other guest had been asked when he'd arrive - I hadn't even had that (not that it appeared to matter). After a further ten minutes, we all had to go and amuse ourselves (with luggage in tow) for an hour before 'reception' opened. I was greeted rather tersely, but had neither the energy or the inclination to react. Breakfast was laid out the night before, so didn't feel particularly fresh; there was a bath towel, but no hand towel or bath mat; I had to give my parents my spare toilet roll as they only had half a one upon arrival; oh, and nobody serviced the room during our stay. I'd have complained, but having witnessed a shouting row between the staff, I decided it was probably pointless. Worst hotel I've stayed at.
Staff, Sarah and Brian, were very friendly and helpful.
Not enough staff to run the hotel efficiently. The quality of the facilities did not justify the price, even during the Commonwealth Games. Breakfast was very basic - a continental breakfast with no croissants! (in fairness with only one member of staff on duty its understandable!) Book in time of 4 pm - again 1 member of staff to look after the 11 rooms (and a second property!!!) they can't be every where at once.
