We only stayed one night. The room was spacious and quiet...except for the ceiling or I should say the upstairs' floor as it felt there was no space, therefore no soundproofing, in between. We were woken up by every little movement the people upstairs did: from taking the shoes off, to going to the loo, to turning into bed. Luckily we were spared bedroom activities, however we could hear one of the people snoring. One more thing that the room was missing was a good set of curtains to keep the morning light from coming in, especially in the summer when it goes light at 5.30am and you have to wake up at 6.30am!
The staff was really helpful and the food and was very good: my steak was cooked as I wanted it, the hand cut chips were very flavoursome. The cheese platter is generous with excellent variety. The wine is a hit and miss: the Argentinian Malbec (we had two bottles) was an excellent choice, however I wouldn't have picked 3/4 of the wines in the wine list as they were really overpriced and of dubious quality - then again being very picky with wine doesn't help, probably the majority of their customers wouldn't notice the difference.
