It was beautiful with lots of interesting history & it's got beautiful grounds which would be beautiful in the summer so can't wait to plan another trip to The George in the summer time. The room was very clean & had everything we needed. The only negative I have is we had to ask about information about meals etc but the staff were more than helpfulAAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Quiet town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Local recreation and sightseeing, major train depot. I had good weather while I was there, nearly everything you need is within walking distance of most hotels.

The staff at 119 are just lovely, so friendly and helpful. The boss is prepared to do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible, he really is a top man! The facilities are faultless, everywhere is clean and tidy. The kitchen has tea and coffee facilities, and can be used whenever needed, (obviously taking other guests into consideration) My partner and I have stayed here twice now and would not stay anywhere else, we have found somewhere that's comfortable friendly professional and above all else brilliant value for money. Interesting places to visit. Steeped in history. Walking . Abundance of places to explore . Great for Autumn walks, lazy village inns with eclectic beers. Interesting points ;- Lewis Caroll ( Alice in wonderland; through the looking glass). Not to far from James Herriot country. Filming of Numerous television programmes including Happy valley near by.

The rooms are a nice and tasteful, but not what I'd call elegant. Dining there was very good, with a great food selection, well prepared and served by an excellent wait staff. The setting is lovely, a short distance from Darlington, so it was quiet and peaceful, ideal for getting some rest. Parking was ample and secure as well. The gazebo outside was lovely for some photos. We spent two nights there and really enjoyed the place.BruceUnited States of America

Jamie is a kind host, makes your stay even nicer. It's a great place for people who don't want a luxury stay. Very good value for money in Darlington. The hotel has a very clean kitchen to be used by guests (and free milk as well!!).

We didn't eat in Maxines restaurant as we were meeting friends in the town however the restaurant looked very nice and hopefully next visit we will eat in!!
