Great location - 10 minutes walk from station and very close to town center. Also in a relatively quiet part of the city. The room was large and clean and well appointed. It had a night light in the bathroom for safety. THANK YOU!

Darlington is a vibrant northern town with a big future.
Darlington is a vibrant northern town with a big future. You only have to look at the developments at the train station, and the fact part of the treasury is relocating there. A bigger brighter future for darlo awaits.

It was beautiful with lots of interesting history & it's got beautiful grounds which would be beautiful in the summer so can't wait to plan another trip to The George in the summer time. The room was very clean & had everything we needed. The only negative I have is we had to ask about information about meals etc but the staff were more than helpful

Quiet town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Local recreation and sightseeing, major train depot. I had good weather while I was there, nearly everything you need is within walking distance of most hotels.

The staff at 119 are just lovely, so friendly and helpful. The boss is prepared to do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible, he really is a top man! The facilities are faultless, everywhere is clean and tidy. The kitchen has tea and coffee facilities, and can be used whenever needed, (obviously taking other guests into consideration)
My partner and I have stayed here twice now and would not stay anywhere else, we have found somewhere that's comfortable friendly professional and above all else brilliant value for money.
We are back in January!

Interesting places to visit. Steeped in history. Walking . Abundance of places to explore .
Great for Autumn walks, lazy village inns with eclectic beers.
Interesting points ;- Lewis Caroll ( Alice in wonderland; through the looking glass).
Not to far from James Herriot country.
Filming of Numerous television programmes including Happy valley near by.
I've stayed here several times it worked out cheaper than the nearest Premier Inn so it was no contest Its a lovely hotel just outside of Darlington. Staff at check in check out very friendly and helpful The standard rooms have everything you need and the whole place is clean and tidy. You can upgrade to go into the old Castle rooms which are bigger than the wing. The parking is free and there is plenty of it. Breakfast is cooked as you like it and there is a good selection of Continental choices too.
Excellent communication in advance and very warm welcome, thank you!
Great location, only a few minutes walk to the centre of Darlington.
We had a triple room which was clean and ideal for our needs. The bathroom, whilst not en suite, was also clean with a lovely shower.
A kitchen was opposite, allowing us to make yes and coffees (with fresh milk in the fridge).
Beds were comfortable and the hotel was excellent value.
Would definitely recommend.
It's cheap and cheerful. Stayed here numerous times over 7 years and naturally looking a bit 'tired' (aren't we all‽) but basically a nice hotel in a super location. Spacious free car park. Good bus service into the town centre. Tea and coffee making facilities in room and kitchenette available if you bring your own food, although a very decent chain pub/ restaurant literally next door.
As a budget hotel, I would recommend.
Hotel was clean, very friendly staff, good price, has some features so not bland, does feel corporate, large room with walk in shower (was superior double), comfy bed, sash windows that open, has parking, good free wifi, convenient to Darlington, nice location good for walks. The breakfast was very lovely (full English) and usual additions available. On future stays for work will book again.
Lovely and cozy place. Pauline was very responsive to my questions and helpful. I was a bit concerned that I was going to be too far away from Darlington, etc., but was delighted to discover that I really could have walked to Teeside International Airport even though I did book a taxi in advance. Also, there was a nice pub nearby for my evening meal.
Breakfast was lovely and the location of the Hotel could not be better 5 minutes from Darlington centre by foot, friendly and helpful staff could not ask for better.
We didn't eat in Maxines restaurant as we were meeting friends in the town however the restaurant looked very nice and hopefully next visit we will eat in!!
We have stayed there in the past and it is always good. This time through no fault of the hotel there was a power cut. No electricity from 4.30pm to 9.30pm. We would have eaten in the hotel but went elsewhere had to drive to Darlington. There was no recompense not even a free drink. A bit disappointing.
Everything was wonderful. The staff were excellent and attentive. The hotel was spotlessly clean and immaculately presented, with extremely comfortable We also enjoyed a meal in the restaurant which was outstanding. The hotel is a gem and a welcoming addition to Darlingtons hotel accommodation.
This was our second vist to the Mercure Hotel in "Darlington" and it was not great due to the fact that there was so much noise when we was trying to sleep with people banging doors and someone even tried to get in our room, so after a poor nights sleep we were not happy.
Breakfast was up to it's usual high standard.
Staff were professional and experienced.
Hotel is ideally situated for the local town and central for exploring the region.
Been here a few times now and will continue to use the hotel regularly in the future.
Great value for money for a quick overnight stay in Darlington. Room was spotless and the bed was very comfy. Check-in and out were very easy and there were plenty of options for food/drink close by, and both buses and trains within easy walking distance.
The breakfasts and the dinner we had at the hotel were brilliant. I want the Chef's pasta sauce recipe please! This is my 3rd stay in this hotel, every time I come to UK I stay here! Restaurant staff were really nice!
Lovely hotel the inside is like old stately home. Bed was really big and comfy. Very easy to get to and town centre not far off and can order cab from reception if needed
Friendly staff throughout my stay.
Modern room (a bit warm though); nice dining room, good bar, good location.
I actually rate the hotel better than a Premier Inn.
