Pleasantly suprised at the location - beautiful views. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked several rooms and although ours was very good, clean etc there were a few issues with two of the other rooms, however staff were very responsive to requests. Food was very good and service was attentive and friendly. A very enjoyable stay and I would definitely book again!

I found the hotel very nice however we were more or less ignored from the moment we arrived. Despite the fact we were only staying one night the staff were unfriendly. We were the only guests in the hotel and we felt that we were almost a nuiscance. The food was excellent especially the breakfast but the room was very cramped for 2 adults and a 3 year old. The value for money was well.....debateable.

Friendly atmosphere, had it's own character (not a chain) with good beer from local micro-breweries.

The room and bathroom were clean (but see below) and well equipped:. Good tea & biscuits tray. Hotel handy for a55 N. Wales expressway. Good range of Real Ale. Our room smelt strongly of old tobacco smoke - probably from the carpet? Hot water took an age to arrive, and was then scalding hot. Genuine 'Olde-Worlde' public areas smelt strongly of disinfectant; with a thorough clean and redecoration they could be splendid; Late evening, blaring 'music' from an almost empty games room spoiled the rustic Bar ambience. 'English' Breakfast OK - but like other 'Trip Advisor' reports, we had to ask for butter, glasses and fruit juice - and 'service' was definitely not suitable for those on a tight morning time-schedule: a quarter of an hour (at 09.30 on a Sunday) waiting to order - seemingly only one member of staff both serving and cooking for just 10 resident guests, Then on the Monday, at 09.00, some five minutes trying to actually find someone to even take our order: kitchen and bar like the Marie Celeste!!

Location. Have stayed at The Glan Yr Afon before However, it appears to have now lost its charm is now looking tired with lots of broken items I.e could not closed windows because handle had come off, wall light hanging off, tap broken etc. Also loads of noisy youngsters in the bar and really loud house music playing. This resulted in it to be really noisy when they left at the end of the night souting etc. Also tv in room was not working. When coming back found we were locked out of our room due to faulty lock, to get into our room my husband had to climb in the window. He was told to do this by a member of staff. Breakfast was a really long affair we had to wait an age, also no butter available. Would not go back again whilst ran by the present landlord. Was like staying at a youth club. Also booked Two double rooms but was given One with double bed One with Two singles which was not what we booked.

Staff were pleasant enough and bar service OK. Room was clean. Breakfast was a bit of a joke. Fully booked breakfast room but only one big jug of milk between all the tables. Ran out of orange juice. Tables set without cups and saucers. Fried bread came with toast ( not on full fry up breakfast) ! Nice enough but pretty poor organisation.

Welcome atmosphere, willingness of Staff to help. Rooms. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast and booked 8,30. At 8.30 we were still waiting to get into the dining room, eventually a member of cleaning Staff brought us a tea/cofee to tide us over until we could get into eat. At this point a single member of Staff (the one who asked us what time we wanted breakfast the evening before) turned up and single handedly cooked individual breakfasts for everyone in our party, all 9 of us, and this took over an hour, we had to ask for some more tea/coffee which took an age to arrive, we set off over an hour later than we wanted to becasue of this delay. Although we booked many months before we arrived, we were all still charged a higher rate than on the original booking confirmation.

Great friendly staff, good peaceful location and pet friendly. Evening meal in he restaurant was exceptional! Could have been a bit cleaner in the rooms. Breakfast although good, was not at same standard as meal we had night before. Service in the morning was poor.
