Draught from the old sash window but the bedroom was huge and the hotel in process of some modernisation,so it was understandable. The warm welcome made up for it.
Staff were cheerful and helpful. nice wee bar. The steak i had for dinner was one of the best steaks i have will definitely be back.
Great restuarant downstairs Host was very friendly and super helpful! Did had a fantastic stay!
Staff all helpful and friendly, hotel well placed to access the area, bar characterful and lively (a shooting party) room spacious, plenty of parking and overall very comfortable.
Room was dated bathroom was very poor hotel staff were not the best.
Easy to find, staff friendly good cooked breakfast in the morning, lovely little village to walk around in, we only stayed one night but we both found it very pleasant.
The staff we're very friendly and helpful food also very good
Nothing that I didn't like
Helpful and friendly staff. Good food.
Uncomfortable, worn out bed and bedding. Stinky wee black dog in the bar.
The evening meal was absolutely excellent
Food great, staff very helpful and pleasant. hotel getting refurbished, would like to go back once refurb completed.
All of the staff were very helpful and owners are very caring and made our stay lovely .
I loved the building, and the restaurant was very good. Clean room, big bathroom
There was no power in the hallway---it was literally pitchblack---needed a flashlight to open the door to my room.
Staff very friendly but not all that helpful .
No hot water for 2 days no plug in the sink so could not even boil kettle for hot water not good did not replace complementary drinks had to wait 2 days. Wifi advertised free in all rooms did not work .stayed for 4 nights ate once had the battered haddock and chips bar meal paid restaurant price plus all batter not much fish all in all not good.
Fantastic looking hotel from the outside. Great and easy parking. Lovely friendly staff made me feel very welcome. Fantastic food, people were even coming from other hotels to eat at this hotel. Great Breakfast. Very clean.
it was a little dark and dingy inside. No hot water in the morning, but I'm sure that was a one off. Bathroom was a little dated.
All the staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive throughout our stay. Very kind to our dog. Food was excellent.
In keeping, and not unexpected in old hotels, the room we were in could probably have done with a little touch-up here and there - but otherwise it was warm and cosy.
Lovely old hotel. Owners seemed very sensitive to the need to maintain its 'feel' as they do it up. Will visit again
I only stayed one night in this lovely hotel and wished I had stayed longer. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and served an excellent breakfast.
Our room was charming and had everything we needed, the little table and two chairs was a lovely touch. We would recommend Glenfarg Hotel as a place to stay when visiting the area.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
The hotel has only recently changed and the new owners have plans for an extensive refurbishment On this second stay, reception was friendly and efficient. The room while rather tired was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful. I look forward to staying here again once the renovations are complete as the hotel has great potential given a little TLC!
Staff and food were absolutely brilliant
Wifi was terrible in room could only connect intermittently and when did connect connection was very slow, I know it's a small point but when I'm away I work for myself and in an area where mobile signal is poor, I need wifi to do emails for work
I still feel the mattress springs in my back...smells strange and you can see since the begining that it is not very clean...we had also problems with the breakfast...nobody came to offer toasts or coffee...and also they tried to charge us the breakfast even if it was included in the price... never come back
Location, building, and staff
We liked the friendliness and courtesy of all the staff who were willing and prepared to extend assistance to satisfy our requests. The meals and service were excellent. The hotel had an old rural charm of country pubs that was appealing.
We had a room facing the street at the front of the building and found it difficult to sleep before the lighting at the front of the hotel was switched off, which seemed fairly late. Wifi often dropped out, which was inconvenient and annoying.
Old buildings the staff excellent food is
Staff were friendly and warm. Breakfast was excellent. Location was excellent. The building was excellent. It was an enjoyable stay. Hotel bar.
Rooms were in need of improvement for decor and furnishings. Cleanliness could be a little better.
