Staff were friendly and warm. Breakfast was excellent. Location was excellent. The building was excellent. It was an enjoyable stay. Hotel bar.
Rooms were in need of improvement for decor and furnishings. Cleanliness could be a little better.
Nice, friendly staff. Bar had a couple of real ales that were both nice. Didn't have any food.
Shower room was tiny and barely usable for an overweight 6 footer.
the Bar right next door
Historic, off the beaten path, natural beauty in the surrounding area. The owners and their staff were clearly committed to providing great value and service.
Very good restaurant and food
Wifi only available in the lobby, they were planning to extend the coverage
The location, restaurant food, comfort, staff were helpful and pleasant, comfortable beds, the price of the room.
Continental breakfast - too expensive for very little choice. My room was in desperate need of decorating - happening later this year, apparently.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was cooked well and presented well too. The general atmosphere in the hotel makes it home from home. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
It was hard to find fault apart from no phone in the room and no lift. When you're young, getting away from the phone and getting some exercise is no harm though!
Staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
Wifi connection was bad or none existent. Missed the breakfast for 2 mornings we paid for as it didn't start till 7.30. Pictures on website are better than we could see
Broken Glass pane in the Bathroom
We found this hotel whilst looking for somewhere local to stay close to my parents home in Fife due to a family celebration. Due to the Edinburgh festival being on most hotels in the immediately surrounding areas were fully booked or quoting extortionate prices. This was an unexpected gem of a find. The village setting is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is all home cooked from scratch. The room was superb. As somebody who grew up in Fife, I never knew this place existed. We will be back to visit in the future and would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to family and friends. In fact we already have!
Staff very friendly and attentive
As discussed with staff, urgent attention required to both bedroom windows, second floor location, in particular bathroom window frame is rotten and in a state of collapse. Wouldn't recommend family use until windows replaced.
Staff and 'ffel' of the place
room was a bit shabby
Staff were excellent and very friendly, the night I stayed the poor chef was working his socks off trying to feed 48 covers and obviously there were delays, however this is the first time in some time travelling where I have seen the chef come out and apologise to diners for their wait and ask how the food was.The next morning the same chef was cooking breakfast and helping people with their cases in a cheerful friendly manner. In short the poor guy needs help here!
State of the hotel it needs some investment as in short parts are falling part as nobody has spent money on it in years, my window sill was literally rotting apart.Wi Fi was intermittent despite being told there had been a major investment in this?
No hot water at all in the shower or sink.
Staff- excellent service, friendly and accommodating.
First double room we were allocated was tiny and smelt of what could be described as dogs. The second room offered without hesitation was a twin as that was all that was available. A bit more space and the bathroom was considerably bigger! (average size) Overall the hotel is tired and expensive for the quality offered.
Facilities very basic for what looks like an above standard hotel, disappointing
Single glazing Obvious that the bathroom was not originally intended to be in the bedroom.
Warm friendly welcome and great location! We were going to T in the Park and the manager John was really helpful arranging a taxi for us to share with other guests. Bed very comfy and had that lovely clean bedding smell. Nice to stay in a friendly family run place like the Glenfarg.
Room was a little basic for the price, however I understand prices go up at festival time.
Breakfast and evening meal were fantastic. Staff were very friendly
Room comfort: We stayed in a non refurbished room. Cleanliness were not main focus!
Lovely old building with lots of character ....some bits tired looking but I believe it's a work in progress ! Food was lovely in the restaurant in the evening and staff very accommodating ....even going to the extent of agreeing to special request for previous nights special which was no longer on menu ....lovely people ....thanks x
Door to room rattled when other guests entered their rooms .....and fire door at top of stair really squeaky !
We had a great stay at this hotel. Was greated by the owner shown to our room. Could not be more helpful. We said we was out that night to a function the owner orderd our taxi for us. And gave us a main door key just in case we was late home. Had a wonderfull breakfast glen and the chef very cheerful. And I would like to give them a special thanks for helping us out. We got to the car to go. Flat battery. Garage not open so both gary and the chef help us with jump starting the car. We r so grateful to both these guys. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to revisit again soon. Thank u all again x
Near to Motorway for travel. Easy access from Motorway. Pleasant quiet little village to walk around. Would stay again if upgraded.
Needs updating in bedroom and bathroom. More attention to details...shower very unreliable. Owner needs to be around more when busy...young waitress needed training, willing but unsure of job requirements.
The staff where amazing the boss john was very friendly and helpfull and the bar 2 bar staff where Aldo excellent couldn't do enough for you xx
