furniturne in the bedroom tired marked and dated. bathroom - clean towels but no towel rails. toilet function noisy.
Nice log fire. Good beer. Good whisky. Comfortable room.
My brother snored all night.
Great food and location
Bed was a little uncomfortable and noise from toilet when flushed on floor above
Staff very friendly and very accommodating of our 2 small dogs
The room could do with a bit of an update
Location and value for money
Lack of choice at breakfast.
Location is brilliant. The atmosphere is lovely, staff very helpful and the food is great...we settled in once we arrived and didn't want to go anywhere else to eat.
Shower cold because everyone else had their taps on.... a problem of an older building I think, but resolved quickly and did not impsct negatively on my stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms with a stunning view over the bay.
the sound of the waves on the shore
bed too soft
Very good location
The bed was VERY soft
Early check out time was my only problem. Great hotel.
1030 check out. 11,12 would of been a lot better.
The hotel was clean and warm and full of character. The location was wonderful - right on the sea front. We had a view of the bay, the pier and the cliffs. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Excellent value for money - what a seaside hotel should be.
The room on the second floor had large picture bay windows with stunning views; I left the sash open a little and slept and awoke to the sounds of the waves. Staff were friendly, welcoming and dealt professionally with queries. Breakfast was delicious...all for just £60 - take note others!!
There a slight issue with the hot water and plumbing...I found the saniflow noisy and alarming at times! The hot water was not available in my room to shower...however, I mentioned this to staff and they were apologetic and explained it was due to low pressure...note: get up a little earlier! Still a good deal for the price.
My son and I had a wonderful stay at the Glengower. The place was gorgeous and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Carparking in the town is a nightmare and only sheer luck nabbed us a park outside the hotel.
the beds are amazingly cozy great location
old fashioned en-suite
Location and the views from both rooms, really wonderful.
The Glengower was friendly, the staff as well. The food was good.
No real faults.
beautiful view from the window with decorative iron cast railings of balcony on a 3-rd floor and fairly big size of the room. Very clean. Quiet. A lot of fruits for breakfast. In general nice atmosphere of the hotel.
I would prefer feather/down duvet and pillows and a larger shelf in the bathroom. I would prefer kitchen works a little bit longer - it was closed at 9 pm. These however didnot spoil anything - just recommendations.
Listening to the waves so close!!
Rather old and tired.
Very clean and comfortable. Good value for money.
Location is great on seafront at the quieter end. Breakfast very good Friendly staff
Location on promenade good. Recently refurbished room was basic but clean with plenty of tea/coffee. Evening meal rather average, breakfast good. Staff (who appeared to be students in the evening) helpful. On street unlimited overnight parking (though limited to 4 hours during day). Decent value.
No lift so lots of stairs so higher floors not suitable for anyone with mobility/health issues. Lots of (rather run-down) student accommodation nearby so expect some noise late at night (though we did see some of them collecting litter on the beach on the Saturday morning!). Its really a pub with rooms rather than a hotel as such. Eating area is just part of the bar & can't really be called a restaurant - evening meals average. We didn't mind hotel guests with their several dogs, but some might...
Good selection of food and drinks. Good number of real ales for sale. Room was clean & comfortable. Nice atmosphere in the bar/reception area.
Room was in need of updating/refurbishment. Shower was a little disappointing due to low water pressure & wi-if signal was weak in my room ( my computer and my smart phone couldn't detect it.)
