Beautiful room, very clean and helpful staff. I simply cannot believe some of the bad reviews on here regarding the Glengower. I will have no hesitation staying there again.

It was very cold very poor heating in rooms. the en-suite was so small I could only sit on the loo with the bathroom door open to the bedroom - not nice at all. The downstairs was more like a pub with large TV, wooden table chairs and flooring with no lounge for residents. I will not stay there again ever.

Very close to the sea and town centre, friendly and helpful staff. We had a huge room with a wonderful sea view. Breakfast was piping hot and plenty of it. It was lovely sitting outside near the sea enjoing a drink and then just walking upstairs to bed, would thoroughly recommend this hotel, fantastic value for money!

Friendly helpful staff and exceeded my expectations for the money (You can pay a lot more and get a lot less) The internet didn't work but it was possible to log into a bT hotspot and pay £5 for 24 hours so not worth bothering about. It sounded like someone above my room was having a tap dancing lesson half the night. Well I've done my fair share of partying in hotels so we'll give them that one ;-)

The location is perfect, the sea view great etc and its central to the town, our daughter is at Aber uni and we came to visit for the weekend so it is central to her digs.we like the old effect of the hotel and the whiskey they serve !!! room 12 is huge clean and bright breakfast excellent The room was cold but not an issue as we only slept there . we felt that the staff could have been a little more receptive. They didnt seem to want to encourage you to eat there etc, other hotels do encourage you to use there services, we felt that this pub could miss out on buisness due to staff lack of interest or training.

The bed was comfortable and the room was well proportioned. View from the large window was great but could do with out the desk. A shelf in the bathroom would be useful. Lovely downstairs bar that wasn't full of students

Sea front location; convenience for what I wanted to do, which was to view properties and who I wanted to see. Wasn't aware that it was an animal friendly hotel, not all the dogs at breakfast were well-behaved Room wasn't cleaned during the stay Temperature in en suite was chilly and water temperature luke warm Breakfast could have been improved with addition of mushrooms, Special k and marmite

The Glengower Hotel has a very handy location by the beach, and an easy walk from the town centre. It is within 10 to 15 minutes drive from the University. The hotel was comfortable and warm, where I had an excellent sleep while picking up my son from the University. The single room had a clean en-suite shower and toilet, and a tv, which were all welcome. The drive to and from Aberystwyth, from Newport, and on to Liverpool, which I did, passes through some excellent scenery. Aberystwyth is a very nice picturesque town, and the Glengower Hotel is an excellent, friendly, good value place to stay. The breakfast was good, and I left thinking that I would be very pleased to stay there again. I can throughly reccomend the Glengower Hotel.

The staff are excellent, friendly, helpful, cheerful. The food is great - simple, homemade and good value (especially the Sunday roast!) Lovely cask beer, and a tenner for a nice bottle of Oz shiraz is excellent value. The hotel atmosphere is relaxed - we pensioners enjoyed the students dropping in, and we had a great time at the Monday eve quiz! We were warned Sat night may be noisy, but that was not the case when we were there. We loved the sea view from our first floor room, especially the huge waves crashing and scattering stones and water all over the road ! Parking car away from the promenade for safety was not a problem! Great weekend watching starlings and red kites, visiting the lovely Cambrian mountains, and catching up with friends. Aberystwyth is a nice little town, easy to walk around, feels friendly and safe. The shower fitment was broken. There were 2 bath towels. However 2 hand towels would usually be provided as well. A box of tissues would have been nice. Tomatoes and mushrooms on the breakfast menu would be welcome for vegetarians.

The room was large and comfortable, and the location of the hotel itself is very nice, with the sea view from the breakfast room and some of the guest rooms too. Climbing on top of the Cliff near the hotel is a must, as the views there are amazing, but be sure to wear a good pair of shoes, as the slope is rather steep! Both the full English breakfast and WiFi Internet connection were included in the room rate, which I highly appreciate. The hotel is also within easy walking distance from the city centre and the railway station.
