With a beautiful rural setting in the spectacular Scottish countryside, this small, family-run hotel is halfway between Lockerbie and Gretna Green, just off the A74(M).
Score from 111 reviews Superb
Good location very quiet town. Our room had a good view of the green and the Solway was in the distance. There are no parking restrictions in any part of the town. The hotel was very nice and the staff very friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending it for business or leisure stays.
entrance throughout dated not too clean doorway entrance dirty rubbish lying
The comfort of the room. Breakfast menu and quality of food. Location in Silloth. Good value for money regarding cost of room.
N / A - everything was fine.
FRIENDLY STAFF,GOOD FOOD,COMFORTABLE AND GOOD VALUE.
Staff and food was excellent, rooms need to be updated
Quality of rooms
Great location, lovely food, friendly staff and good value for money!
Rooms were clean and comfortable with the exception of heating issue.
My friend and I had single rooms on the second floor for one night. There was no heating in either the rooms or corridor but this only became apparent late that night. We reported this issue to the receptionist the following morning and were told that the automatic timer had been set for the heating. After some discussion, the rather surly woman eventually agreed to speak to the manager and she returned to advise that we would each have £10 deducted from our respective bills - the manager did not appear to deal personally with our complaint. We have both stayed at this hotel on previous occasions, but the poor handling of this incident by the staff means that we will not be returning to the Golf Hotel.
Food very good. Room clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and efficient.
Staff making a great effort Food was above average
room opened onto kitchen exhaust fan
Room was really nice. Staff great.

Friendly Staff Excellent Accommodation
Great room. Dog friendly Fabulous welcome. Nice menu with a good range of food at good value prices. Staff couldn't do enough to make you feel at home. Enjoyed myself so much stayed extra night.
The Hotel was ok. Not what I expected.
Required more staff during the day to coupe with the arrivals. Only one thing which would make things look better change the colour of your bath suites dark green is not a good look.
Location, room size and cleanliness. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good place and value for money.
Could do with starting breakfast at 7 in the morning on Sunday as we had to leave without ours although we were offered cereals etc.
Good traditional hotel and staff to match - loved it
Outside appearance was pretty bad but it is on sea front and exposed
staff were extremely helpful, and obliging. food was appetising with good variety, and value for money. We had a room at the back with no view, although very clean & comfortable. The rooms at the front would have a lovely view of the green.
Seafront-ish location, food, dining rooms, twin room for first night
Plumbing, double room for second night
Close proximity to an excellent golf course
We were on the second floor which was in dire need of updating/renovation. We were told that the first floor had been modernised.
Good evening meal and breakfast. Staff were helpful.
Noise from people leaving the nearby pub. Front rooms would benefit from secondary glazing.
Food and service was excellent
No shower, bath only
Don't book the standard rooms!!! absolutely shocking - stains on carpet and walls filthy. I complained and got an upgrade but these rooms are sub standard and not worth £90
Friendly staff, accomodating, good base for golf tour of cumbrian coast. Food / drink / accomodation rates all very reasonable.
We changed our booking numbers, spoke to hotel on phone who said "no problem nil else to do". There was no written confirmation, which I did not chase, and they on arrival insisted on full charge as per their terms and conditions, as is the letter of the contract.
Warm, clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. Close to golf course.
No shower, only bath. Wifi did not work above bar level, so not in our room. Street parking only.
Good clean hotel, spacious room. Excellent food good value for your money Nice friendly staff
Room a little bit noisy at times(probable a air vent in the roof) when the wind blew.
staff, very friendly and the food was top notch. I would really stop here for a meal anytime am in Silloth and would stay again
the rooms really could do with new windows and a good coat off paint. The views are not that great again windows need washed.
